I am sure if you asked 100 different people on this topic you would probably get alot of differing opinions. First you have to think about the term "normal". When you think about it what is normal is going to largely be based upon what that peron's experiences and perspective.

People by and large have very different levels of libido. I am not sure whether you are a man or a woman from your name alone and honestly it truly doesn't matter but it could affect the answers from some.

Many people associate at least some guilt with acts of masturbation. Religious and social opinions on what is "right" or "normal" to do varies greatly. I myself am male and I have read a great deal about masturbation. From a health perspective most doctors tend to agree that it is healthy to have one or more orgams a day.

Some people will have many a day.. some people don't masturbate at all or rarely. I think it largely depends on many variables. You have to take into consideration first their overall libido, how much time they have available to do so, the privacy or opportunity to express themselves, if they are on anti depressants or how their hormonal levels are at that moment.

I nor anyone else basically can tell you what is "normal".. I think what really matters here is getting an understanding of what your body needs daily sexually and meeting those needs. My "opinon" is that you should focus on your body and try to come to terms with your own sexuality.

I also personally feel (i.e. yet another opinion) is that masturbating a few times a day is not abnormally a high amount. As long as your masturbation sessions are not leaving you overly sore, you are not experiencing any discomfort or adverse physical side affects from it and it isn't keeping you from doing what you need to do each day, then I personally see nothing wrong with it.

I'd say as long as it's not interfering with your daily life in terms of things you need or want to accomplish, knock yourself out. As Zeph pointed out, "normal" encompasses a broad spectrum. I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, without knowing anything about you it's hard to tell. Are you a 20 year old male? If so, then it's normal. If you're a 75 year old male then I'd say you have different gifts

You've given no context so it's pretty hard to say whether you're normal or not.

Everyone is different and also goes through different stages in their own individual lives. I don't think what you are talking about is all that excessive. I go through really horny spells on occasion and have dry spells on occasion. I think the "average" encompasses figures from several times a day to almost never, making it impossible to figure out what is actually the norm. I think I read somwhere once that the average married person has sex 2-3 times per week but those same people go through horny and dry spells too.

Thank you for that answer - I was beginning to wonder if I had a problem based on some of the responses - LOL. I work a normal job - usually 9 hours a day and am very focused on work when I'm there so my mastubatory practices do not interfere with my life in any way. I am single (divorced) and find that as I get older, my sexual desire is more intense, so masturbating twice a day is not unusual for me. If I'm alone for extended periods, it could be more.
