Master lets me make that decision unless specifically told otherwise. It's my nature to say Sir and Ma'am. i've actually found it hard when people ask me not to do it, i'll forget, then they tell me they told me not to. *laughs* Now i try to just use that form of address in business/professional situations, or if i know they are a PYL.

i think using Sir and Ma'am is a show of respect that a lot of people in this day and age do not appreciate. i get annoyed when people tell me, "Don't call me Sir, my dad was Sir." Or "I'm not old enough to be called Sir/Ma'am, do I look that old?" Of course i don't show my annoyance, but i always want to tell them it's a show of respect, accept it graciously and move on.

Yes Sir, i heard that one often enough in my career. The funny thing is, the military is supposed to teach us respect and "rank", but then you have NCO's that say things like that. And the kids they let in today, they are not learning any respect at all. If i had ever treated my parents or "elders", as they used to say, the way that kids do today, i wouldn't have been able to sit for a week! *laughs with a bit of irony*
