Massive Migraine?

Oooooh had one of those yesterday. The kind that makes you sick to your stomach

I'm sorry you have one.

I know this sounds like bull but if a woman with a migrain or a headache is sexualy aroused it eases the pain as the blood vesels expand and flow easer

with a male the opposit happens

so you cant use the excuse "I got a headache"
:D

I get migraines at least once a month or more... I just hide in a dark room and try to think of sexy things to pass the time if I can not slide off into sleep.....

I get them because my jaw is misaligned. Not that you can tell by looking at me or anything. I didn't even know until I was like 23. Apparently the only way to stop me from getting migraines is to break my jaw and reset it. My answer to that is a resounding

FUCK ALL THAT NOISE, JACK! I'll deal with the migraines.

i use to get severe headaches when i was younger they never discovered what it was exactly ... 1 doctor said diet other said migraine and other said sinus and other finally said my nasal passage one side was smaller inside my nose ... so who knows  :)

i grew out of them mostly although i still get them occasionally

Sounds like not much fun. Generally, darkened rooms, low noise, and not watching television or being at a computer can help. Screens are generally never a good thing, especially if they have particularly light, or bright displays. Might want to try drinking something with Caffine in it, like a regular soda. Best Advice: Talk to your doctor, and keep careful records of what you've eaten etc. Generally, you can find triggers that you never knew you had, and you can also know what preventive mesures work for you. Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, I hate them...takes days to recover from a really bad one.

The only true cure is to go to sleep in a compltely dark room.

One time my dad had to give me some pills from his surgery to get me to go under... My mom kept checking if I was still breathing.

migranes

yuck!!
i used to get those. the kind where even the light of the alarm clock made me sick to my stomach for the next 48hrs.
i started taking Imitrix at the start of one and it went away, but i wanted to sleep.

i also got divorced and they went away. less stress i guess.
(i am quite serious)
havent had one now in years.

*Joining in on the migraine club* I also have them terribly, like every week. I see a pain managment doctor aslo. And to top it off, ive already been through one round of spinal injections (which you get one shot for once a week for 3 weeks in a row) A spinal tap, and a blood patch. (because the spinal tap didn't seal)! So i understand what all of you are going through! Whats worse is that my doctor wants me to go to round 2 with more injections! And they still can't figure out why im having such severe headaches.

I've had 2-3 mingraines a month since i was in a car accident when i was 16. They we're diagnosed as migraines until i was in my mid-30's though; i just thought i was a pain weenie for all those years. I mean, other people got headaches and didn't crawl into a corner and whimper about them, right? I must be a pain weenie. (This, from a sexual masochist, ought to tell you that there's a difference between good "pain" and bad.)

After they were diagnosed, i started on rounds of all the migraine and pain meds known to medicine. The thing that worked best, before my current aids, was injectable imitrex. It weirded me out in a BIG way tohave to do those subcutaneous injections, though, and i kept putting them off until it was too late for it to work.

Currently, i have prescription imitrex inhalers and i do one of them at the first sign of an oncoming migraine. If it's not working in 30 minutes, i do another inhaler. If that one doesn't work, i start downing vicodin and try not to have to drive too far or operate an heavy machinery.

My triggers are sleep deprivation (not going there in my BDSM fun and games, am i?), too much caffeine in any form (god DAMN that chocolate has so much!), and, heartbreakingly, the sulfides used in the manufacture of red wines. I can't stay up too late, eat too much chocolate, or drink too much coffee or red wine. Fuck. What's left?

Cym. I wish i could say that i've found something to help mine, but not yet! Things work on me for a month and then stop. Almost as if its built up in my system. So i go from one pain med. to another and one migraine med. to another.

I was diagnosed with Migraines at 15, and I've suffered them 2-3 times weekly since I was around 14. What was ultimately my first diagnosed trigger was an antidepressant I was on. My parents got suspicious when their child who (and this is factual) never cut, started cutting 3rd period study hall and was found in the library, wincing at the tiniest noises, for a week straight. Since then, I've also found simple things like Diet Sodas, and Pork are triggers for me. I'm fortunate, caffine helps prevent and control my migraines, hence an addiction to coffee. I'm also on pain meds, and other things for when my migraine does kick in. When I do get a bad one, instead of the mild form my meds and preventives reduce the usual ones to, I get light, sound, and heat sensitive, nausea, and I have blacked out on one or two occasions. I hate having migraines, but at least I know where they came from. My father has suffered them since he was 16. The best thing I've found to prevent them? Perscription Sunglasses. Sunlight not glaring in my eyes, and being able to not strain my eyes seems to work wonders.

I don't get migraines, but my mother has gotten them for years. I can remember from the time I was a little girtl mom laying in bed and crying and telling us all to shut up because she could hear us whispering even tho she was upstairs and we were down.

She now uses a Stadol inhaler. It works well for her, and Like Cym, she's to use it when she senses one coming on. She can use it, sleepa couple hours and it's pretty much gone. It's the best thing she's ever found to help her headaches. Much better than the injections she used to get.
