Greetings all,
First time poster here, even though I've been reading stories here for years and years! I am a lover of the video game series Mass Effect; that, coupled with being a SERIOUS romantic means that I am turning to the writers here for help.

Let me give you some background. The game is set several hundred years in our future. Humanity has joined the galactic community. Said community consists of several known intelligent races, some more reputable than others. There are three games in the series, named creatively enough Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3. :)

The major alien races in the game, besides humanity, are:
The Major Races:
the Asari, the Turians, the Salarians,
The Minor Races:
the Elcor, the Vol,
The Outcast Race:
the Quarians, and
The Criminal Race:
the Batarians.
In addition, there are two "races' of sentient machines: the Geth and the Reapers (the MAJOR bad guys in the series). The story revolves around your character, last name Shepard (you enter a first name, but it never appears in the games, and you're always called either "Commander" or "Shepard".

The meta-plot of the game series is as follows: Every 50,000 years, the Reapers come back to the galaxy from their hibernation in dark space outside the borders of the galaxy and "harvest" all the intelligent, space-faring races. They break down their physical bodies into component DNA and make new reapers from that material. At the start of the first game, it becomes known that the reapers are making their appearance soon, and Shepard is the human to stop them. Oh, side note, you can be a man or woman, and that has some bearing on your romantic entanglements in the game.

Now, on to the romantic entanglements . . . Most of the major races can at least mate with each other, and emotional attachments constantly form across species' borders. The premier race in the galaxy, the Asari, are humanoid, blue-skinned, and have, instead of hair, "semi-flexible, cartilage based scalp crests that grow into shape." The Asari are also VERY human-looking, and are mono-sexual meaning that they don't employ the DNA of their sex partner to conceive a child, instead . . . well, ok, here is the official wiki page on Asari biology (I want to get to the story idea):
http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Asari#Biology

Anyhow, in the games, you meet a young (only 109 years old) Asari named Liara T'Soni. She becomes a love interest in game 1, and you're able to continue that affair, and even up the ante in game 2 (your character is able to make an offer of bonding, children, old age -- basically marriage. In game 3, you're able to sleep with Liara again, and you tell each other how you feel (here's a YouTube of the sex-romance scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leUFdDqYIX4).

FINALLY . . . THE IDEA . . . THE REQUEST
If you follow video games AT ALL, you're aware that the fans of ME3 are MASSIVELY IRATE AND ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED at the ending Bioware put in for the Mass Effect Series. Throughout all the games, all the conversations, EVERYTHING you do is guided by YOUR CHOICES, your decisions, to choose a high road and be a paragon, or take the low road and be a renegade. This was completely negated by Bioware at the end of ME3.

My idea/request is for someone to write a LENGTHY series about Shepard and Liara, their life and love together, the adventures they have rebuilding the galaxy after the horrific attacks of the Reapers, raising their children (I think 3 kids would be good, maybe 5), and their travels on their starship, the Normandy 2 (http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/033/5/a/SR2_Normandy_by_CKuhn.png isn't she a beauty!?).

Here are some character bios:
Commander Joshua Shepard: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Commander_Shepard
Dr. Liara T'Soni-Shepard: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Liara_T'Soni

By the way, the "Joshua" first name is my character's name. I realize I've gone on at length about this, but their love story is very near and dear to my heart, and I would love to see it taken to the next level, both in length and to a much hotter, more explicit sexual plane.

Thank you.

I was wondering . . . do people ever pay for stories? I think I'd be willing to pay for what I'm describing if it were done EXTREMELY well, and to my very high standards --- I used to teach English and I am a member in good standing of the FBGI Federal Bureau of Grammar Investigation. :)

I hooked up with liara in ME1 and Talia in ME2. Flirted with Liara in 3 for a bit but hooked back up with Talia, brought them on the same mission afterwards and the coversastion during the mission was funny to say the least. I expected to get shot in the back by Liara.

After the craptastic ending of ME3 I've been pretty fed up by anything ME-related. Actually went back to Skyrim, LOL. Currently writing a Skryim Illustrated story as my sexy cleric travels through the game, hehehe.

Would be a great storyline though...but definitely would have to have somebody who had played the game write it to understand the characters and be able to explain it to those not familiar with the environment...

Mass Effect Romantic/Hot/Romantic/HOTHOTHOT Story

Thanks for replying guys(?). Are you both guys? I dunnno, but I guess so. Yah, the ending of ME3 was such a complete and utter fuck-up that I am willing to pay for a very long, very romantic, very steamy-sexy-graphic story/ending/continuation. I know it sounds VERY silly, but I could easily fall in love with Liara. I mean, aside from the blue skin, cartilage head crest, and mono-sexuality, she's a LOT like my wife -- sexy, kind, giving, caring, willing to try just about anything, hella good on computers (oh, my wife's not a biotic, but you'd think so considering how she can read MY mind! LOL), and they even have close body types -- long legs, medium size tits, nice waist, long fingers -- my wife is blonde though, instead of cartilaged, hehe.

Okay, so, I am a writer as well, but I can't write fiction to save my life. I can do scholarly writing and technical writing and even textbook writing, but I can't put stories together that well. That's why I am willing to fork over the shekels for a story that meets my standards.

I realize that to meet those standards, a writer will HAVE to understand the background of the plot and characters (and even the biology of the Asari). So . . . here are some websites about those things:

The first one is a HUGE reference, so don't be scared, ok? It is very approachable and easy to navigate. Browse around and have fun; the entries are enjoyable reads in and of themselves.

This is the basic plot of the first game
Mass Effect Basic Plot: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Storyline#Mass_Effect

This is a HUGELY excellent in-depth look at the plot of Mass Effect 2. It also serves to fill in a great many holes you might have from looking at the previous two sites.

You'll also get a good look at some of the characters (pictures make things MUCH more real for me.)

Finally, here is the wiki entry for Mass Effect 3's plot. There's been what some call a minor controversy about the ending for ME3 as written. That's sort of like saying, "Gee! That Pacific Ocean sure looks a little damp!" One of the ME fans started a poll on the Bioware forum about ME3's ending. There are/were 70711 votes; the numbers after each choice show how many votes and the % each received. The 3 choices of the poll were (paraphrased):
The ending sucks, we want a brighter one. 91%(64573 votes)
Endings are fine, we just want the Normandy strand on Earth or somewhere near Shepard. 6%(4130 votes
Fine as it is. 2%(1509 votes)

As you can see, more than a few people were a BIT irate about the ending, lol.

So, anyhow . . . enough jawing. If you're interested in making some $$, and don't mind doing some research and then a LOT of writing, let me know. Thanks.
