These troops were taken away from areas watching wildfires/in place to protect the public from dangers on the whim of trump hoping for a show of strength on-camera... financially a disastrous waste and a sclerotic misuse of resources since only a fraction of their numbers were actually used:

82-year old green card holding grandfather living in the US after being granted asylum having fled Pinochet's violence deported to Guatemala.

He'd lost his wallet containing his card and made an appointment with the Philly immigration office to see about getting his replacement. He turned up there with his wife, but he was handcuffed and taken without explanation to his family. His wife was also held for 10 hours before being released but with no information as to her husband's whereabouts.

Eventually, she got word that he'd died in custody, a traumatic experience, only to learn then, in her grief, that he wasn't dead (yet) but in hospital in Guatemala! WTHF?!

Do you wish your ancestors had stayed in their country instead of running to America? If they didn’t like what was happening in their country, they should have done something to change it. Were they scared? Where were they going to run if we went to war? They should have stood up.

One by one they're being deported.....

Mahdi Khanbabazadeh, a 38-year- old chiropractor and Iranian citizen, was arrested by ICE in Beaverton, Oregon, on July 15, 2025, for overstaying his student visa by 7 years. Seven years!!!!!! How on earth does an illegal alien (an Iranian, no less) get licensed to practice as a Chiropractor in the US? Or get malpractice insurance?

I had no idea 65% of illegals were visa overstayers either. Good grief, this is one huge clean out needed.

Ohhhh I remember this, when the illegal ran from ICE into a medical facility and some of the medical workers tried to prevent ICE from detaining the illegal. Joy oh hoy. The criminal medical workers have now also been arrested. Federal Charges! Good work by Law Enforcement.

Listen Americans, without immigrants your country's population would be shrinking (just like China's). Immigrants pick your cabbages, build your houses, work in your meatpacking plants and pay lots and lots of taxes to a government that may soon run short of Social Security funds. They've fled terrible places to make a better life for themselves - and for you too. Immigrants fought in your Union army in the Civil War and helped build the A-bomb during World War II. Immigrants even captained the Starship Enterprise - both the original and 1701-D! (They also marry your President and spend billions to get him elected, but the less said about that the better)

Sure, some of them are criminals (just like regular Americans like John Billington and other people whose families came over on the Mayflower). But that shouldn't be a problem for MAGA voters who elected a man convicted on 34 felony counts who appointed a collection of incompetent sleazebags to his cabinet . . . should it?

Your farming, construction, meatpacking etc. industries thrive off immigrant labour. You should have a proper system to import this labour, but you don't, so your (crooked) businesses do it under the table. President Trump understands this (being a crooked businessman himself), which is why he's willing to give those businesses a pass and make a show out of scooping people off the street and deporting them only if they're working in jobs that DON'T have powerful business interests backing them (like, say, a dishwasher working in a cheap restaurant, or that 82-year-old guy the stormtroopers hauled off). All these immigrants pay taxes. All those construction workers, for instance, have phony social security numbers provided by their (crooked) bosses, so they pay social security taxes and have income taxes withheld, etc. Who's the bigger "criminal," the hard-working immigrants or their crooked bosses, or your President himself, convicted on 34 felony counts?

DOJ is walking back the White House’s goal to arrest 3,000 immigrants per day

It’s another discrepancy between what White House advisers say and the administration’s legal posture.

Stephen Miller was unequivocal: Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers would seek to arrest 3,000 or more immigrants per day, a staggering target that he said was necessary to carry out President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are looking to set a goal of a minimum of 3,000 arrests for ICE every day and President Trump is going to keep pushing to get that number up higher each and every day,” the senior White House adviser told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in May.

But when federal judges pressed for details about that figure last week, the administration denied any such quota existed. The contradiction came in a lawsuit that alleged the intense pressure to rack up arrests had led ICE to conduct illegal sweeps in Los Angeles.

It’s not the only case that has featured the 3,000-arrest-per-day target as a crucial piece of evidence that the administration’s single-minded drive to rack up arrests may have prompted immigration authorities to cut corners or break the law. Washington-based Judge Jia Cobb, a Biden appointee, cited the figure when she ruled Friday that the administration’s dramatic expansion of “expedited” deportation proceedings violated the law. And Judge Trina Thompson, a Biden appointee in San Francisco, pointed to the purported goal Thursday when she blocked the administration’s bid to end temporary protected status for tens of thousands of Nicaraguan, Honduran and Nepali immigrants.

But on Wednesday, the Justice Department said no such orders had ever been given.
