Mass Deportations Or: Let's Get This Party Started

They don’t disappear. They are taken into custody and deported.

After disappearing from all contact for a while. And of course without due process.

At least you’re consistently stating your authoritarian views now, and have dropped your “conservative” facade. Living in denial isn’t healthy. 👍

Woman Says She Was ‘Blindsided’ After ICE Detained Her Trump-Supporting Husband

Alabama

An Alabama woman married to an Iranian immigrant says her family regrets supporting President Donald Trump and his aggressive immigration policies after ICE detained her husband over the weekend as part of a recent round-up of Iranian nationals.

“We believed in his [Trump’s] immigration policies and were completely blindsided and truly believed that only criminals were being detained,” Morgan Gardner told Newsweek.

Gardner’s husband, Ribvar Karimi, was one of 11 Iranian nationals arrested Sunday and taken into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security claimed the arrests reflect its “commitment to keeping known and suspected terrorists out of American communities.”

DHS has painted Karimi as a threat to national security, saying he served as a sniper in the Iranian army from 2018 to 2021 and had an Islamic Republic of Iran army identification card.

Military service is compulsory in Iran for all men aged 18–49. Draft evaders face prosecution and may lose their social benefits and civil rights, including employment, education and the ability to leave the country. Deserters face imprisonment.

he entered the country legally, married his American fiancée, but neglected to change his status because of his wife's pregnancy problems... legally, he is obliged to adjust it as not doing so can cancel his right to stay. Their minds were elsewhere, though, because of the pregnancy issues. The wife was horrified that he was picked up when he was given that she is American and they're married, plus his popularity in their community etc..., etc..., etc.... She rightfully assumes he was only grabbed by ICE because of the latest Iranian events but insists her husband's no threat to the USA, loving this country and having been captured at one stage fighting ISIS.

republicans: they never believe it'll happen to them and their own until it does and then they're flabbergasted

A 64-year-old Iranian woman, who has lived in the US for 47 years, was detained by immigration agents on Sunday morning while gardening outside her home in New Orleans.

Kashanian arrived in the US in 1978 on a student visa and later applied for asylum, citing fears of persecution due to her father’s ties to the US-backed Shah of Iran. Her asylum request was ultimately denied, but she was granted a stay of removal on the condition she comply with immigration requirements, a condition her family says she always met.

She has no criminal record but remains in Ice custody.

The timing of Kashanian’s detention came just hours after US airstrikes in Iran.

these dangerous, violent criminals...
Last week, Ice announced that they arrested 84 people during a raid at a south-west Louisiana racetrack. Of the 84, Ice said “at least two” had criminal records.

This is why ICE agents should not be masked …

US sees spate of arrests of civilians impersonating ICE officers

“Federal agents wearing masks and casual clothing significantly increases this risk of any citizen dressing up in a way that fools the public into believing they are law enforcement so they can engage in illegal activity. It is a public safety threat, and it’s also a threat to the agents and officers themselves, because people will not immediately be able to distinguish between who is engaged in legitimate activity or illegitimate activity when violence is occurring in public,” he said.

Speaking of tax dollars at work … the number of dollars is astounding. The new Tax & Spend Bill directs $168 billion to immigration and border control.

And the total cost of deportations will be about $1 trillion.

Look at immigration enforcement compared to all other federal law enforcement programs:

Crazy. And they pretend to hate government spending.

That is an abomination! Oh they love spending....when it harms human beings and fattens their pockets (on the backs of others).

When it actually helps people, they want to be stingy.

Very corrupt administration. I know there are protests all over the country but it doesn't faze this administration as the people in this regime do not exhibit normal human emotions.

What you fail to understand here is, with the current administration, anyone who is in the US legally can be declared illegal at any time. And subsequently "disappeared."

And now, the president wants the authority to do this not just to legal immigrants, but to NATURALIZED CITIZENS. People who are not only legal immigrants but WHO HAVE BEEN GRANTED CITIZENSHIP.

This should be alarming to every true conservative AS WELL AS every true liberal.

It should concern you, too.

Don't think that just because you are on the regime's "Good side" right now, that such a government can't turn on you later.

this is where they keep the mothers who trekked for months to make a better life for her family.

🤬

The first non-violent individual to be "housed" in that fucking dystopian gulag will make a mockery of the whole "Alligator Alcatraz" moniker that has been assigned to that national disgrace.

👎

Alcatraz was for THE WORST OF THE WORST:

Back in the day, DonOld would have been housed there.

👎

We. Told. Them. So.

Is this what you’re referring to? Although I don’t mind deporting a child porn distributer who probably shouldn’t have been granted citizenship in the first place, I agree that this policy could be a slippery slope worthy of discussion and debate. I was unaware of Obama’s denaturalization expansion.

“Department leadership is directing its attorneys to prioritize denaturalization in cases involving naturalized citizens who commit certain crimes — and giving U.S. attorneys wider discretion on when to pursue this tactic, according to a June 11 memopublished online. The move is aimed at U.S. citizens who were not born in the country; according to data from 2023, close to 25 million immigrants were naturalized citizens.

“At least one person has already been denaturalized in recent weeks. On June 13, a judge ordered the revocation of the citizenship of Elliott Duke, who uses they/them pronouns. Duke is an American military veteran originally from the U.K. who was convicted for distributing child sexual abuse material — something they later admitted they were doing prior to becoming a U.S. citizen.

“Denaturalization is a tactic that was heavily used during the McCarthy era of the late 1940s and the early 1950s and one that was expanded during the Obama administration and grew further during President Trump's first term. It's meant to strip citizenship from those who may have lied about their criminal convictions or membership in illegal groups like the Nazi party, or communists during McCarthyism, on their citizenship applications.

The bloated immigration control budget is ripe for fraud and abuse. No wonder the Trump administration gutted the GAO and other watchdogs.
