OK, now I feel like a total idiot--I've lived in Maryland for about seven years, and I never knew that it was called 'The Free State.'

Sheesh, the benefits of a public school education...

Sumimasen, it's okay. I didn't know till a few years ago that it was called the Free State because they were against prohibition and felt that everyone should be free to drink. Another product of the publik skool systum.
