I was reading a part of Weekend in an All Girls Dorm, when Imhotep mentioned Mary Jane heels. Can anyone enlighten me as to what they are? When I googled them I got like a thousand different styles of shoe.

It's the leather shoes with the strap around the front of the ankle, like this:

They can be flats or heels.

Incidentally, I'm glad I finally know the name for Mary Janes. I always had to describe them (shoes-with-straps-across-the-front), which affects the flow of the writing. I may have to backtrack and edit some threads.
