My itinerary was as follows:
New York - Marvellous city
Boston - As you say not so overwhelming, but has many good points.
Provincetown - Beautiful and great attitude, but a bit too gay for me. Was there for Halloween and the costumes were something you don't see very often in this part of the world.
Hyannis- Used as a stopover - some good bars, had a round bed and a jacuzzi built for two, needed someone to share them,
Boston again as a stopover, during CNN Rocks the Vote, was interesting to see the supporters of the various camps.
New Haven - Some great art and good pubs. Noticed a rather high police presence. Not sure if this indicated high crime or low tolerance.
Atlantic City - A huge car park with slot machines and pawnbrokers. Historical museum showed a lot of good things that used to be there until replaced with slot machines.
Philadelphia - city of Rocky and some great art. Also a lot of apparent poverty
Washington - Nowhere near enough pubs or street level activity at night in the city, but great monuments and parks etc.
Charlottesville - Good bars and music, history of the former presidents
Richmond - Civil War history was powerful, and great beauty on the river and Belle Isle. An important city historically which should have more at street level in the city. Very few shops etc. Good nightlife in limited part of the city.
Baltimore - Probably the most dangerous place I visited and the only one that highlighted "Gentlemens Clubs" in it's tourism literature. Some interesting nightlife, but not enough simple bars.
And back to New York. New York is my favourite of those visited. It has the most streetlife, whether New Yorkers at play in Central Park, the Village, the shops, Union Square, the many and diverse bars and restaurants etc. etc. So many different facets. I spent more time there than anywhere else and still am hungry for more. The WTC site was very poignant. The hawkers there were annoying.
Sorry, I've never been a Kiss and Tell kind of guy.

abundent there..

Im in what they call the North here themason dixonline seperates
the North and the South.. why no reason.. The south is still
part of the USA any way it is beautiful there.. and the civil
war Monuments are well maintained and respected there..
Its planning to rise again.. or so i have heard..
Provincetown was it too gay as in Homosexual?
or Bright? that is an artistic enclave and that goes with the territory..

So all in all you enjoyed it.. NY.. she always leaves you wanting
more... No matter how often you have been there..
street scene fab.. walk for days just watching it.
Im glad you enjoyed it..
Next time you must travel to the south like the carolinas
and fla.. then the time after that.. the west.. when you reach
california you will never go back.. you wont..
youll marry a women here to stay...

Gay as in homosexual. I have no problem with gay men or women. Some of my best friends etc. etc. On Halloween night there was an influx of thousands and the streets were crowded and not one of them likely to be shagged by me, though I did receive a few flattering comments.

I've been told Charleston in particular is worth visiting and I definitely will continue exploring next year.

Marriage though seems a high price to have to pay to stay in the country
