Marvel: The Mutant Outbreak (IC)

Hitting the wall with a dull thud, X-23 rose shakily from the ground, rivulets of blood running down her face. Within seconds her blood began to clot, and soon the only evidence of her injury was the drying streaks of red on her skin.

Leaping back into the fray her next flurry of slashes only managed to cut through the air, her target putting up a frustratingly canny defense. Slowly she drove him back, her claws flickering in and out at his eyes and throat. When he threw his head back away from the blades she snapped her leg up with a gymnasts flexibility, her foot connecting with the back of his head though the blade missed a killing blow.

As the man rolled to his feet she prepared to descend on him with another lethal attack when her ears twitched. At the last second she threw herself forward, arching her back to dodge the blast of searing plasma. Even without a direct hit the super heated air around the shot burned caused the back of her shirt to disintegrate in a brief flash of fire.

The flesh underneath was left a red smoking mess, and as she doubled over from the pain X-23 suddenly felt her arm wrenched to the side. A metal claw had latched onto her wrist, the other end attached to the smaller target. The muscles on her arm flexed as she tried to pull her arm back in, and despite her frame the man was forced to lean all his weight into it to not be pulled towards her.

Snarling angrily X-23 raised her other hand, about to sever the wire, when the first target was on her again. By this time the flesh on her back had returned to pale smooth skin, but with her arm restrained she couldn't dodge or use her speed. The man's punches pummeled X-23, causing her to fall to one knee as she tried to ward him off with her remaining free hand.

"I won't let you hurt Conners, gackface!" Spider-Man yelled at Venom as the two continued to scuffle on the way to the Doc's condo. "Give it up!" Despite his words, he was not very effective at slowing the beast down, and moments later they both crashed in through the condo's living room window.

"What the blazes is going on out her- Oh my god!" Conners stormed out of his study, wearing a robe and pajamas, and then froze in place as he saw Venom.

"Doc, run!" yelled Peter. "He absorbed my memories and wants to kill you for starting the outbreak!"

"What? But I didn't mean to- aaagh!" the Doc was suddenly grabbed by a tentacle and flung against a wall, creating a web of cracks. More slimy appendages wrapped around his ankles, wrists, and neck, squeezing the life out of him. Peter jumped onto Venom's back and frantically beat on his head and pulled back on his jaw.

"Leave him alone!" he demanded. Conners looked like he was fading fast, but then suddenly, his face contorted in rage, and in a quick flash his eyes became bright green and his pupils became slits, like a cat's. He opened his mouth and roared as his teeth grew into fangs, and his pajamas began to rip has his muscle mass rapidly increased. His skin morphed into green scales, his nails became claws, his hair fell out, and a tail sprouted from his backside.

When the transformation was complete, Conners was even taller than Venom and managed to break free from the tentacles, sending the black-skinned creature flying into the kitchen, the impact smashing the granite countertops.

"Doc, you activated an advanced mutation!" exclaimed Peter.

"Yes," he replied in a hissing voice, holding his hands up and looking over his body. "And I will use this new form to take back my research from those repulsive agents who locked down Oscorp."

"But if you go back to Oscorp like this, they'll kill you!"

"Not if I kill them first!" growled Conners before preparing himself as Venom came at him again. He returned the favor by wrapping his tail around the creature's neck, then began scratching away at his face, revealing his real skin underneath. "Ah, so there is a person under there!" He then threw Venom as hard as he could out the dining room window and down into the alley below, the glass shattering.

"Doc, don't do it! I can't let you go on a killing spree!"

"Stay out of my way, Peter," warned Conners. "I have no desire to harm you, but if you interfere, I will."

"Doc, wait!" He yelled as the Lizard leaped out the same window he had thrown Venom through. Peter immediately jumped down to where the black-skinned creature had landed. "Okay, this is bad. He needs to be stopped. I... I don't want to hurt him, but if he isn't stopped, innocent people will die... I can't beat him alone -- you could barely stand against him. We need to work together."

A few minutes later, Spider-Man and Venom were chasing the Lizard across rooftops towards Oscorp. As they made their way through a few neighborhoods, the two caught up with Conners, and another short scuffle ensued. They were quickly over-powered and it ended with the Lizard smashing through the roof of a church, pinning Spider-Man in the crater they had just made in the floor. It seemed the people in the church had been having a battle of their own.

"Stay out of my way!" screamed Conners before jumping back up through the hole in the ceiling.

"Well, this is awkward," said Spider-Man as he saw the confused looks from those in the room. "Sorry about the roof!" He shot a strand of web straight up and vanished through the hole as well.

"Not bad, but she's still up and angry!" Isaiah shouted to Kris. He was fairly certain that he was hurting his hands a lot more than her skull with his blows. The only reason he hadn't broken his hand yet was he'd spent time fighting all manner of jungle beast, gorilla in particular and their thick skulls could shatter bone easily so he'd learned where the most pliable parts here putting the stress on her neck and jaw not directly on her skull.

She heals, too. Acts like him, claws, healing factor. I didn't know he had kids. I didn't know he was still alive. How is he still alive?! Focus, you won't get to ask any questions if she takes your head off.

"If you let go of her arm and I live I will fucking kill you Kris. Do you fucking understand!" Isaiah shouted more to psych himself up for what he was about to do than meaning anything towards Kris. He still had to be careful of her legs. He grabbed her free arm and twisted it it so he was behind her his other arm wrapping around her throat as if to choke her.

Even with her dense adamantium skeleton she wasn't too heavy. It was less than nothing for the Super Soldier to lift her up overhead and perform a flawless German suplex. He rolled his hips and let Kris's pull drag him back upright for a repeat, then one finally suplex and the girl went still.

If she'd been anything but what seemed to be a female version of him Isaiah would have been concerned that she was so still. As it was he was only concerned she was playing dead in the hopes of lulling him into a sense of false security.

He still didn't release her, kept her arm pinned behind her and one knee on her skull. "I don't know how long she's gonna stay this cute and docile but if you've got an idea I'm listening."

Then two more freaks came plummeting through the ceiling caught in their own battle. "Okay, you've got to be fucking kidding me!" Isaiah shouted. He didn't have time to figure it out though, looked like a dragon fighting a Mexican Wrestler but he wasn't going to let up the lady with the knife hands and couldn't follow those two even if he'd wanted to.

There wasn't much that Nell could do but allow Kris to carry her to a somewhat safer place. The tree allowed her to sit up, and in her daze she dreamed of a red haired woman looking down on her from above. But with her eyes coming back into focus after sitting still, she knew that to be just her imagination. Whilst she was in pain, her wounds from the fall at the motel fire were all healed up now. The bullet wounds, thanks to some quick bandaging had coagulated and stopped bleeding. And all the small cuts and bruises from falling into the church had basically faded to nothing. Beyond those gunshot wounds, she wasn't too bad off. However, she was still tired, and pale from blood loss and her body ached.

But she should have hurt a whole lot more, right? Was it another side effect of the virus? Well, she had no time to think on it as she struggled to get her feet underneath her again. The sounds coming from within the church sounded more like a small war, a gunshot, loud crashes, yelling and pained sounds.

Then she saw the roof half cave in, and still leaning against the tree trying to gain her balance back, she watched as three creatures quickly departed. One was the masked hero, Spiderman, she'd seen him on TV back in Sydney. He was practically famous.

Walking back into the church, blood stained and clutching at Kris' jacket, Penelope watched as the fight somewhat ended.

"Is she okay?" she questioned, leaning on a pew to stop from falling back down.

"Are you okay?" she asked, realizing that the woman had caused several wounds before going down. "I'm sorry, I don't know what to say."

Standing before them, her wings half closed as if shy, she pushed her hair from her eyes. She couldn't wear Kris' jacket, so she hung it over the pew beside her. Before bowing her head in thanks. The gown stuck to her enough thanks to the blood that stained it to keep her modest. However, it had become undone at the back.

Once he saw that one of her arms had been disable he thought it was a good thing, but she was stronger than he expected as she tried to pull him towards her. Kris quickly focused his weight so that he would not be sent flying forward. He suddenly saw that she raised her other arm and was about to cut the line. She only stopped by the timely inference of Isaiah when he tackled her.

He was about to protest on how he was handling her, But stopped when he heard him say that he would kill him if he let her arm go. He didn‘t want that to happen, though if she did escape she may do him the favor and kill them both.

With Isaiah Knocking her out by hitting her head against the floor, twice for that matter she went limp. He thought that was the end of things and it would turn out for the better for the two of them. But alas, that wasn’t about to happen, when few more figures suddenly crashed through the roof.

Kris quickly dived out of the way, as not be squashed by what looked like three figures. He saw one that looked like a green reptile, the figured looked like that one person from MK. As for the other person, he didn’t know what he looked like some strange man in spandex thing or what ever it’s called.

He saw the green thing jump back out of the hole he made and thought he heard something escape from the creatures’ lips. It was then that he thought the other person looked familiar. He acted like or moved like that person on TV that he saw the other day,

" what did he call himself" Kris thought to himself as he watch the man in red/blue shoot some strange substance from his hand and he soon vanished out the hole.

Turning back to Isaiah he was about to ask what to make of things, It didn't matter but they would have to repair the roof to the church in the near future.

"Well I got some more wire" Kris replied as he depressed a switch and the wire thread unraveled. it looked like it was long enough to tie her hands as well as her feet together so that she wouldn't try to kill them when she awoken from her slumber.

Kris knew that Isaiah was right she was cute at first, but when she went all killer mode, she wasn't that cute at all.

"A friend of mine was into that entire tie up thing, or what ever it’s called", he said as he tried to think of what it was called. He could wrap the wire around her hands, or body then wrap it around her feet. she could move a bite but she would be limited as it was one piece and she would have to keep her body in a certain position so that she wouldnt harm herself when she did wake up.

" Or do you know how to better restrain a person like her"

" I'm sure she will be fine" Kris quickly told The

"been Better " He quickly said as he watched the angel place his coat on a pew.

" How about you "

As she was lifted into the air X-23 writhed like a wild animal, blades flailing as she was slammed into the ground. Even after the first hit she squirmed a little as she was lifted again. After her final trip to the ground however she went limp, pain filling X-23 like fire.

The world slowly faded in and out of darkness. Laura was only dimly aware of a weight on her back and the sounds of voices. Faintly she registered a blur of red, blue and green crashing from above then floating away.

By the time her bones had begun to reknit themselves enough for her to regain consciousness Laura was already restrained. Still feeling lightheaded she let her head rest on the ground, the feral killer's look gone from her eyes.

It was absolutely unbelievable. A little too good to be true actually, without photos that she didn't have the presence of mind to snap Jonah was never going to believe this. She followed the winged girl to a church where a muscular, handsome, African American got into a fight with with a girl with knives jutting out of her hands and feet. She only barely managed to keep from being crushed by a giant man lizard and a man in red and blue spandex, there was another man in black spandex swinging overhead.

There was just too much good stuff going on here. It was quite literally the scoop of a lifetime.

Then she was suddenly scampering backward on all fours as the lizard man thing leaped back out of the hole and charge toward her. She rolled out of it's path though and it didn't seem interested in her, at least not for the moment but she wasn't going to give it a chance to change it's mind. Mary Jane jumped from now ruined roof to a tree, slid part way down before jumping down to the grass.

"Excuse me, I don't suppose any of you would like to explain what's going on here because I'm more than a little confused." In a practiced shy move she brought one hand up behind the back of her head and plastered the biggest smile she could muster onto her face. "Unless you want to explain what's going on to the police I'd suggest we move this party someplace a little less stand outty."

"Welcome back girl." Isaiah spoke slowly and clearly still making sure he had a good hold on her. He'd already seen her heal and even if he could break her metal bones, didn't I?, he wasn't particularly worried about doing it again nearly as much as he was worried about her taking his head clean off his shoulders. "If I let you up are you going to stay calm or do I need wrap you in chains? You're not killing the Angel or anybody else here, I hope that much is clear."

" I'm sure she wont try anything once you let her go, that feral look in her eye seem to be gone" Kris said as he looked at the girl. he wasn't sure about what he had said, but if they showed her kindness then she may act in a more decent manner.

But if he was wrong then they would have to fight her once more, but that was a bad thing since a few more people decided to join the group of strangers

Kris turned to the other new comer that appeared in the church, He didn't see her before and was curious to who she was and how she got to this place. As he listened to what she had to say, she was right the police should have been called with all the ruckus that was going on around the church.

" I'm not to sure what to say" Kris told the new female that joined them,

AS he looked at her he could tell even in this dimly lite room she had to be a real looker, heard her say something about the police coming and that they should retreat to a better place. Once that was more private so they all could talk.

Venom roared out in fury as he stood up, his tendrils flailing in anger as his massive frame at the infuriating memory of the lizard mutant beating both him and Spiderman, sure Venom was far stronger then that overgrown gecko but the lizard was far more agile and intelligent, plus it had claws. Well he'd just have to fix that. "We will skin that overgrown newt and make him into a purse!" Venom glared at the ceiling and was about to leap out himself when he noticed the others in the room and noticed the winged woman, and the blood stains on her.

Walking past the others he inspected her injuries, also taking note of her mutation, his grinning mouth closed the whole time until he opened it up and started speaking. "You have been shoot." It was a statement and not a question. "You need to have the bullets removed, we shall aid you. Be warned though, you might feel a bit weakened." Venom warped his tendrils around her, slowly as to not awake too much alarm from her. He let the power of his symbiote take hold of part of her body, and while also assimilating her mutant powers, he had the symbiote remove the bullets and heal the holes.

Withdrawing his tendrils he held up his hand and dropped a couple of metal bits onto the group, the bullets that had been inside her. He then turned towards the others and spoke. "We do not know you, nor do you know us. We seek to end the one who has caused the rapid mutation of humans. His name is Doctor Conners and he has mutated into a powerful lizard creature, the one We and Spiderman fought. He is heading for Oscorp to gain hold of his research, possibly to refine the mutagen. Conners must be stopped, he is strong and smart, a big danger to all of this city and beyond. So we ask for you to help us confront him before he unleashes something even worse then this mutant epidemic. We understand if you do not wish to confront Conners or fight for an unknown cause, but we will fight to the end. For we know if we do not, far worse things then Conners will come. We shall distract the police so move out of here quickly."

Venom's back bubbled and twitched, the sound of cracking bones and tearing flesh was heard as slowly a pair of pitch black feathered wings emerged from his back, covered in the slimy ooze that was his symbiote the wings looked like they were made of metal. Taking no time to wait for the others response Venom walked out of the church, past the pretty red head by the entrance, he unconsciously licked his fangs as he looked at her. And out onto the street were police cars were approaching, standing there as the cars pulled to a stop and cops got out, aiming guns and rifles at him, he just smirked and spread his wings before speaking. "This city is riddled with Vermin, and we are the Venom that shall remove the rot." He then crouched low, bent his knees and then leaped up, his new wings flapping and sending him soaring into the skies as he flew towards Orscorp, evading the bullets shoot after him.

It took him no time to reach Spiderman and Conners as they fought over the rooftops, with his improved strength and new wings Venom roared as he flew down like a jet and tackled Conners through a large commercial sign. smirking down at the stunned face of the mutant reptile as they fell down onto another rooftop Venom spoke. "Missed us?"

With a loud crack they impacted the rooftop and Venom roared out as the Lizard tried to rip through his suit, only for sharp spikes to emerged, piercing the lizard's hand, causing it to jerk its hand back, its damage regenerating swiftly, as Venom spoke up with a grin. "There's far more to us then meets the eye lizard." He then swung his massive arm and a tentacle the size of an anaconda erupted from his wrist and struck Conners across the chest, sending the mutant into a neatly stacked pile of metal pipes.

"Hissssss! You won't stop me you piteous nincompoop."
Conners hissed back as he threw a rain of pipes at Venom who leaped over them, letting his new wings take him to the skies, giving the creature enough time to run away across the rooftops. Venom flew after it and soon enough they reached the central parts of town were Venom used a web sling to grab hold of the reptilian mutant and send him crashing into 70th Pine Street one of the tallest buildings of New York, and America.

Landing on his feet from the impact Venom smirked at Conners who glared at him, the two were standing face to face in a meeting room in the office building. Conners then took off and smashed through a wall, Venom swiftly following, folding his wings into his back as to not get clutched in the narrow hallway. Conners kept smashing through wall after wall as Venom followed, soon enough Venom managed to snag Conners leg with a web and sent him flying with a pull through another wall.

Stepping over the lizard man Venom raised a hand, a black spike forming out of his palm. "Any last words Conners?" The lizardman then smirked and pointed at the roof and spoke up. "Yessss, guess what happens when you remove enough supportive walls from a skyscraper?" A loud groan was suddenly heard and the floor tilted, sending the cackling lizard out of the room as Venom leaped out of the window. a good four to five floors were starting to tilt off the building's top! Venom looked down at the people bellow and felt a cringe of terror at what would happen when the top fell off.

"This is bad." Was all he said before he formed his wings once more and flew down into the open air, he then sent tendril after tendril out from his body, also shooting web after web, shaping a massive spider web of black tendrils and white spider web, with Venom at the centre. Then as the top finally fell over Venom could only mutter, "This is going to hurt like a bitch.", before the building fell down upon him and his organic web. Parts of the web got lose as parts of the buildings he grabbed got torn off, he renewed the web each time and even as he fell towards the street with the entire mass of the building on top of him he felt it slowing down. But damn was it agonizing he felt as if his entire body was turning into a pancake!

Then as the fall reached 30 feet from the ground it slowed down dramatically and Venom could grind his teeth together as the fall slowly turned into a stop, ten feet from the ground, his face staring right into the pale and terrified face of a cab driver. "We... suggest... you... move... now!" People ran away in panic as Venom's words echoed through the street, he could feel tendril after tendril loosening, the web was groaning in protest at the massive weight upon it, he couldn't let go though, there were still people below him.

Then as everyone was off site Venom let out a deep sigh of relief before letting go. A resonating boom echoed through the entire city as a dust cloud erupted from the impact and a massive pile of rubble and crushed cars filled the street. As the dust cloud settled erupted Venom from the remnants, he was torn and exhausted, his arms and legs twisted at funny angles, but healing. He needed to sit down for a bit, recovering before moving on. "We were right, that did hurt like a bitch." Venom muttered to himself as he gasped for air as he laid there amongst the rubble.

Standing in shock, Penelope couldn't quite put into words how she felt. Whilst she did feel a lot better, the bullet wounds healed thanks to the symbiote's handiwork, she also felt violated and unsteady on her feet. It hadn't been a bad experience, just one she hadn't agreed too, but there was also something deep down that she tried to hide. The fact that she kind of enjoyed having whatever that black goo was wrap around her and meddle with her insides. It tickled. He probably didn't think it would only tickle, considering he had explained it would hurt, but she felt rather energized.

She looked towards Isiah, as he spoke with the feral clawed girl, she seemed rather in a bad way herself, that anger no longer flooding her eyes. "Angel? I'm not an angel," she said, shaking her head and waving her hands as if there was some kind of misunderstanding. But after thinking about it, she did have to admit it must look that way.

"The wings kind of make it look that way, don't they. But I swear it isn't because I'm some messenger from up on high, I grew up in Sydney, Australia, and I'd hope Angels came from somewhere more heavenly..." she explained, talking to herself mainly.

"But I'm feeling much better, confused, dazed, a little unsure of what's going on, but 100% on the physical side of things."

She paused, before looking down at herself. Before the change she would have tried to cover up everything, but now, with this smoking body of toned muscular and graceful excellence, she didn't want to ever cover up again.

"I'm Penelope, but everyone calls me Nell."

Stepping forwards, she flexed her wings a couple of times before folding them back behind her again. For the most part she now at least felt confident in flying, even if the landings required a lot of work. "I'm sorry for destroying part of the roof, and if I led this woman here by accident, I had no intention of causing so much trouble."

Looking to the woman who had spoken about the police, Penelope walked over to her. "If it's at all possible, I'd like to avoid the morons who opened fire on me inside a hospital of all places. If that's the welcome I get for trying to help, then they can take a long walk off a very short pier." She said, before adding in, "into shark infested waters."

"Do you have any suggestions as to where we can gather our wits?"

The woman beneath him seemed to have settled down enough that he could let her go. Besides he was fairly confident that Kris was the only person here who couldn't run if needed. The Angel could fly, the Redhead seemed pretty agile, he probably couldn't outrun her but he thought he could outfight her again if it came to that. Not that he wanted to but then he gently backed away from her. "Keep the claws put up and we won't have any problems missy. And later when all this calms down I want to know who your father is and if you've seen him."

Isaiah turned towards Nell and smiled softly. "Of course you're an angel. Have you ever seen a creature with wings before and you were apparently naturally drawn to the house of our Father. Everything happens for a reason, even Jesus was born on Earth and spent his entire life amongst humans so he'd better understand us."

Now that the initial threat was gone Isaiah took a moment to actually look at Nell beyond her angelic wings and face and took a moment to examine her heavenly form. I'm going to hell. I'm gonna go straight to hell. Isaiah was briefly thankful for the fact that he his complexion made it difficult to tell when he was blushing because he didn't mean to stare at her tits, what he constantly forgot was he reflexively darkened to keep from being seen blushing so his normally milk chocolate skin tone shifted to a near coffee black while he stared. He averted his eyes from her certain she'd somehow notice he was blushing.

"I'm not sure where we could go to calm down, I had planned for this to be my quiet spot but apparently the Lord has alternate plans. Plans that apparently involved a black skinned hellspawn, he was probably an assassin in life and he's back from Hell to lead the armies of Malbolgia, Dormammu or Crowley. Don't ask they get really weird tv shows where I live. Anyway I don't trust black demons, but I see a luchadore and a dragon fighting and. . .they are heading somewhere called Oscorp and if I understand properly the demon thinks we can get answers there. So I'd love to talk about this and we need to but first one way or another I need to go to Oscorp and find out what I can from the demon who violated our Angel and took her essence."

Isaiah returned to what he was planning to be his room someday but new plans might be needed and a few moments later he re-emerged in his costume. He didn't have a shield like the real captain America, instead he had a pair of sword axes crossed over his back and a massive grenade launcher hung low on his back. He was still pulling his gloves on and tightening his mask.

"Oh and you can call me X, as in Captain X." He took a few steps then looked back. "I don't suppose any of you know where Oscorp is? I just got back in town and last I checked it was hard enough to get a cab as a black man, I can't imagine a mask and being heavily armed will make it easier."

Laura groaned as the man rose off of her, the pain in her joints slowly fading. Slowly getting her hands under her she pushed herself to her knees, vertebrae shifting visibly through the torn back of her shirt as they popped back into place. She sat there on the ground for a moment, only half-listening to their conversation, idly running her fingers over a tear in her skirt. What is going on? she thought, The scent, there are always bodies after the scent.

Rising to her feet at last, still standing a little uneasily, she regarded them dangerously with claws still extended. Her first instinct was to attack again, but there were more of them this time and she noticed that the large one's eyes were always following her, I won't be able to suprise him again. she considered. But if I don't kill she'll be angry... I CAN'T make her angry.

Laura felt resolved to continue the fight, just starting to plan how she could cut off one of the other woman's wings to keep her from fleeing, when one, Captain X he had said, mentioned a battle at some place called Oscorp. An image of the figures who had crashed through the roof flashed through her mind. If they are going to another battle I could follow them, if I can still kill... Laura flinched as she thought the word, Maybe she won't be angry with me. The claws on her hands and feet slowly withdrew and she was a normal girl once again, albeit one with a ruined outfit.

"I have to go there." She said, her tone blunt and awkward like she wasn't used to the sound of her own voice. "Oscorp. Where is it?" She looked at them all warily, tensed and ready to spring forward if they tried to attack or leave without her.

Kris listened to the new girl and talk about they should go and find a place that was safer to go and talk with one another. He would have suggested the junkyard, but he was not sure if the women would want to go to a place like that. However, it could never hurt to ask.

"Well there's a junk a few blocks away," Kris quickly said as he was unsure how they would take the idea.

He listened to what Isaiah and the knife girl, who seem to have calmed down greatly, say that they need to go to Oscorp. He knows that he heard the name before, but he was not sure where he heard it. It may have been one of the places that he sought out for employment, and then he found a job where he was currently working at.

"Well I don’t work for Oscorp, i work at Hammer Tech." "But I do believe that Oscorp is one of the tallest towers with in the city.

"I think it shouldn't be hard to find as it also has its name on the side" ' and if you two don’t mind I would like to join you all" He quickly added as he turned to Isaiah.

He heard him tell the others to call him Mr. X. He found it strange that he did not give out his real name, the one he told him when they meet earlier.

"I’m Kris," He said as he introduced himself to the others, "If you two don’t want to come with us my bike there has the direction to the junkyard and you all could stay there till we get back"

"As to where it’s at...I do think it resides on the other side of Manhattan”

"Well, if its a tall building on Manhattan Island, with Oscorp written on it, even if I don't know my way around I couldn't miss it from a birds eye view."

Penelope said quickly, hoping to try out her wings in a more controlled manner, it was invigorating. But she also didn't want to get separated, and as far as she knew her eyesight wasn't any better even if she was stronger. But, she could at the very least get everyone going in the right direction.

"Captain X, I'm sure I'm no angel, but I'd be happy to help find out what happened in any way I can."

He looked rather impressive, wearing his mask and carrying such an array of weapons to make even a novice enthusiast blush. Back in Australia such weaponry was well and truly illegal. A grenade launcher...yeah right. The best she'd ever had the pleasure of firing was a small hunting rifle, and her accuracy was less than preferable.

"So, are we superheroes now? Like Spiderman and Captain America?"

She didn't know anything about anyone there, beyond Isiah's religious view on her appearance, Kris' aid in keeping her safe and the feral woman's bladed hands. The red head was a mystery, beyond the roof top apparition during Penelope's spaced out faze.

"I'll check out the area," she said, before running off towards the doors, giving everyone a flash of her ass as she did so. Opening her wings as she ran outside, she flapped them several times before lifting off. Her main aim was to gain height, so she began to circle the church, feeling the heat from the city streets helping as it created small thermals for her to rise within.

"I really need a better outfit."

After getting up above even the tallest buildings within New York, she graced the bottom of the clouds briefly before spotting the small island known as Manhattan. The Oscorp building was the tallest, and it was easily identifyable.

Diving down again, she perched on the roof near the hole. "Spotted it, just head that way," she indicated, pointing towards the island. "There's also part of a building down on route to it, you'll probably see it pretty easily. I'm going ahead to find the next direction, and see if anyone needs help. I'll meet you all at ground zero for the fallen building."

Flying off once again, she pulled the gown off her shoulders before letting it float down into the city below. Naked, the wind chilled her a little but felt wonderful. Reginald, the Cockatoo must have missed this free feeling. But as she headed for the knocked over building, she floated down and landed outside a Women's clothing store. Everyone seemed to back away, allowing her enough room to land without knocking anyone over. A mother covered her child's eyes, and plenty of people stared and took photo's with their phones as she folded back her wings and headed inside.

"Excuse me, I need to find something just covering enough to not be explicit, but not enough to hide my true form."

Minutes later, and with one autograph signed, a store attendant had written off a silver metallic dance bikini set and a transparent white Kaftan that didn't cover anything at all. Which was good, since adding petty theft to her escaping police custody record wasn't really that high on her list.

It didn't take very long before she landed on a slab of concrete not far from Venom. "Thank you for healing me before, do you need a hand? And a leg, or two..." she chuckled, watching as his body healed. She assumed that even if he didn't have healing himself, since he stole her wings (she assumed) that he could have also stolen her healing.

"Just X, it's shorter and Cap is the other guy." X corrected her, he'd get around to convincing her that she was obviously an angel later, after all he had something that resembled a goal. He watched her take flight and. . .it was amazing. Just like he'd always imagined angels in flight looked. He was a bit awestruck but fortunately he kept it under wraps when she returned and pointed in the direction they needed to head.

"Okay, you go on a head we'll catch up when we can." Captain X ran to the nearest car and smashed in the window then reached beneath the steering collumn ripping off the plastic wiring and. . .well there were a lot of wires under there and some greenish wire. . .computers. They build regular cars with computers?" Wakanda was far from backward but it's few personal vehicles weren't quite normal cars to say the least.

"Okay this is a lot more confusing than I was expecting it to be but we need a vehicle and I didn't bring one or expect to . . .look I cannot stress enough that I was drafted into the military for World War II, experimented on, turned into a freak, spent seven decades on the run from my own government, lived in a secret nation in Africa where I forged my blades and THIS is by far the oddest day of my entire fucking life. Can any of you get this or any vehicle moving. I don't want to leave Angel alone with a demon, a dragon and a luchadore any longer than I absolutely have to!"

"Be careful," Kris told their new friend as she took off into the sky to see if she could find the tower they were looking for.

He could not believe what he heard Isaiah had said, he was around in WWII the man did not look like it by his age. He quickly followed Isaiah as he ran to a car, he suddenly saw the man hit the window and broke it. He also heard him say something about a person named cap. He did not know whom he was talking about but it did seem like he knew him.

He was about to stop his from pulling out the wire, but he did and was having trouble to hot-wire it. He would have liked to check and see if it had onstar. Which he did learn that they could remotely start the car for them.

"Well I think I can help with that," Kris quickly said as he got in through the other side.

Kris quickly searched through the wires and was able to find the correct ones; this was a first time for him doing this as he mostly used keys to start most of the vehicles. After a few strikes of the bare wires, the car quickly came to life.

"And there you go, though I have to admit that this is a first time for me"

"It looks like I'm may have to leave my bike here" Kris said as he tapped the roof of the car, as he waited for the others to get in the car.

"Do you want to drive or let someone else Drive" Kris quickly asked Isaiah.

it didn't matter to him, but they should hurry up if they wanted to catch up to th e winged girl. Along with the other three that appeared.

"Feel free to drive, that'll leave me with hands free." X replied sliding into the passenger seat. The truth was he hadn't driven, not in a city in a long, long time. Of course you can ride your bike. I'm not sure I would leave it or anything else in this neighborhood unguarded.

Oh wow, dark. Isaiah looked at his arm and noticed how much darker he'd gotten and conciously shifted back to his normal brown hue.

"Whatever we're going to do I recommend we do it quickly, we don't want our Angel catching up to the demon and the dragon without help. . .and I'm honestly not completely comfortable with being locked in a car with Knives here but she's coming with us."

Laura took a step forward as Penelope took off, knuckles glinting as her claws just barely began to emerge. The woman was gone long before she could do anything about it though, Laura would just have to hope she wasn't secretly planning to run away.

As Captain X and Kris worked on stealing a car Laura paced back and forth impatiently. All the evidence of her earlier battle had faded, at least from her. The back of her shirt was almost completely burned away, though the sleeves were intact and held the rest on, and her skirt and stockings had numerous small tears. Surprisingly her hair clip had managed to hold on throughout the fight, though it was badly bent from being slammed into the ground.

I should be killing them. Those were my orders! She thought nervously, eyes darting quickly between the group. But if I can find someone to kill wherever we are going I will have completed my mission. She will not be angry. When Captain X slid into the car Laura walked over warily, looking the vehicle over for a moment before opening one of the rear passenger door and sliding into the seat behind him. Pulling the door closed, crossing her hands in her lap and staring unwavering out the front window while tapping her fingers, her body a picture of barely restrained threat.

Venom chuckled and laid there as his legs and arms retracted and reset themselves, the sounds of creaking bones and knitting flesh was disturbing to hear but it wasn't the first time he had been able to hear it since getting his powers. "We may be powerful but we are only mortal, our body is drained recovering from the strain of our recent action. We will be good enough to move soon." Then with a loud crack snapped his elbows, shoulders and spine into place and the creature let out a low hiss before standing up from the rubble. "We're not meant to fly, while it was useful are your wings too much of a strain on our body to keep regrowing them as they affect us in more then appearance. The only good thing we copied were your ability to heal, we apologize if we appear sinister in our actions but we do not have the luxury of explaining ourselves to others as of why we act as we do, too much at stake."

Stretching its arms Venom checked his entire body, popping sore muscles and strained joints into proper condition before aiming a wrist at a nearby building and fired a spider web from his knuckles. The suit's bio organic structure allowed it to mimic the web production of a spider, improving it even, thus allowing it to produce and fire said web. Grasping the web he looked at the barely dressed woman and jerked a thumb at Oscorp's direction. "We're going after Conners, we will explain more about ourselves after he's defeated, but for now we need to stop him."

Taking to the air above the streets Venom swung himself across the skyscapes, thin kwhat you may but he preferred web slinging before flight, those wings had been useful and fast but they left him highly weakened as he had to hollow out his own bones to be able to fly and to grow and ungrow those wings rapidly was highly dangerous even if he had an alien symbiote to heal him. As he swung across the skyscapes he pulled a sudden swing and launched himself up on top of a rooftop, finding himself looking upon the large building of Oscorp.

Taking a deep breathe Venom looked for a possible entry, he had to act fast before Conners did something worse then causing this mutation plague. He was still sore from his recent skyscape webbing but hopefully the others would be able to get to the place in time to help out. Launching another web he flung himself across the air and aimed for the floor he knew the labs to be in, it helped that some of the windows were already broken. Letting go of the web he curled in mid air and the uncurled as he rotated and landed with hands and legs on the floor and looked around for his quarry.

"If you want to take some picture you might as well come with us," Kris quickly told the last female. He saw that she had a camera in her hands. From that, he figured that she was on assignment for a scoop, which this lizard thing could be the scoop of the year.

With her inside, Kris quickly threw the car in gear and took off in a puff smoke that came from the back tires. He had the jest of where Oscorp was located at he had yet to see the winged female as well as the other two. With them having a head start, it could take a few minutes until they caught up with them. That was unless a sign would fall down and give them a location.

Kris quickly took a right turn fast almost taking out a light pole before fishtailing back to the correct lane. His eyes quickly darted back and forth looking for any signs of the four strangers. As he looked up he saw what looked like the lizard along with the black monster, flying towards was Nell.

From what he could tell, they were getting closer to Oscorp tower as he could see the outline of the building. Throwing on the breaks the car came to a quick and sudden stop.

"Nell where did that black thing get to along with the lizard man" Kris quickly asked as he looked around, they were across from Oscorp. However, he didn't see the lizard man or the black monster anywhere. As he looked up towards the Oscorp building, he could see few windows of many opened and figured that one or all three of them entered that way.

"So how do you all suggest we get inside" Kris quickly asked all of them, it would be hard to get in either way and explain them. Going through the front door it would be hard, as the receptionist as well as the security guards would not believe them. But if they did make through the window they would still have to deal with cameras and then more security guards as well as police arriving on scene.

Before they had arrived, she had been checking under slabs of concrete, just in case someone had been unfortunate enough not to get out of the way in time. And beyond learning she was stronger too, she was happy to discover no bodies. It seemed that the fallen section of the building that now lay in ruins had been gutted to allow for renovations. The owners would be pissed.

Flying over to where the car had just pulled up, she landed beside it. Leaning down to speak with Kris who had addressed her. "My best bet is to get into the building via it's upper floors. Feel like going for a fly?" she asked, holding out her hand as if offering to carry anybody who wanted to get inside up to the broken windows.

Isiah would be the heaviest, and probably the best front man for their entrance considering who might be inside. "X, I think I should take you first, followed by Miss Reporter, Knives and then you, Kris."

She didn't exactly know Mary Jane, and leaving her with X-23 in a car by herself seemed like a bad idea.

Anyway, if they wanted in and got out of the car, she would do the four trips before joining them where Venom had entered minutes earlier.

((Short post, sorry guys, have to go do some chores))

The sound of tearing metal pierced the air, like some sort of inhuman scream, a moment later the car's rear door fell to the ground and Laura slid out her claws disappearing neatly back into her skin. She stood and stared impassively at the massive Oscorp building, ignoring the startled pedestrians gawking at the mutilated vehicle and its' passengers.

A breeze lifted her long black hair as Laura stood absorbed in some thought. Her brow shifted in decision before she reached out and grabbed the other Nell's hand, "No. Take me up there. Then you should leave." Her tone, as always, was quick and formal, more like a hardened soldier than a young woman. If her words left any doubts about whether it was a request her actions didn't, she stepped in close to Nell and pressed the knuckles of her other hand against the woman's side, her claws retracted but the threat clear.

Before anyone else in the group had time to discuss the matter Laura flexed the muscles in her arm, the skin on her knuckles stretching and splitting as the tips of her claws peeked out. She nudged the razor sharp points against Nell's ribs to add emphasis to her words. "Go. Now."

"What the hell is that?" said a young man standing on the roof of a building, leaning over the edge, trying to clear his thoughts. "Is that a... a lizard?" He looked to be in his late teens, and hid his eyes behind a pair of red tinted glasses.

"Out of the way, kid!" the Lizard hissed as he roof-hopped past him. The young man tripped and fell over trying to get out of the beast's way, and his glasses fell off, nearly taking off Conners' head with red eye lasers. "Well, look what we have here. A distraction for my pursuers!"

A few minutes later, the Lizard was scaling the tallest building in the area, his arm wrapped around the mutant with the eye lasers. The young man had his eyes clenched shut, terrified of hurting someone. Once he got near the top, Conners smashed in through a window and then busted through several walls until Venom caught up with him.

"Open your eyes, boy!" he demanded.

"No!" Red-Eyes replied. Conners growled in anger and used his claws to pry the boy's eyelids open, spinning in a circle as the lasers cut through wood, drywall, and the steel frame, just as Spider-Man swung into the building.

"Oh shit," Spidey uttered as the whole ceiling started to creak and moan. The Lizard then turned and smashed out another window, dropped Red-Eyes, and gave a hard shove to the steel frame of the building that had been severed. He laughed and continued towards Oscorp as Spider-Man dove to save Red-Eyes and Venom tried to slow the fall of the chunk of skyscraper.

A few minutes later, Spider-Man was in pursuit of Conners again, and the two arrived at Oscorp just ahead of the others in the car. The Lizard smashed in through a window on the floor of his office, immediately alerting the security guards and the FBI agents in the building. As Peter landed inside the window, Conners suddenly let off a gas bomb of some sort, making it extremely hard to see or breathe. He felt a few blows to the head and then was flung back out the window. Disoriented and spiraling, Spider-Man plummeted towards the ground below. The passengers of the "hero car" saw a spinning red and blue rag doll falling to his apparent death.

Things were moving fast. Really fast. Mary's head was actually spinning a bit, the fighting seemed to have stopped or moved, the big black guy who'd just beaten Knives was now dressed like Captain America with a handkerchief on his head. Several of them had spoken to her but none of them seemed to be particularly concerned about her one way or the other. Of course jumping down from a roof top unhurt was officially the lamest thing that had happened here today and that might have been a large part of it. She didn't have wings, claws or. . .was Captain X always that dark?

Somehow she found herself stuffed into a car with the people and the promise of pictures. The fact that she wasn't a photographer wasn't important, not important enough to correct them over at any rate. It was barely important enough for her to remember. Especially now that she was riding in a stolen car, chasing after a Winged Woman, a black demon thingy and a man lizard.

The fact that she was stuck in extremely close quarters with the same woman who'd very nearly killed her driver and his friend just a few minutes before wasn't wasted on her at all. Had they forgotten though? Neither one of them seemed at all concerned. If it had been up to Mary that woman would have been left behind, or chained up, or in the trunk or chained up in the trunk! She certainly wouldn't be sitting next to her but apparently Mr. X had called 'shotgun' when she wasn't paying attention.

"So I'm Mary and . . ." Their destination came up faster than she'd expected and Knives cut the door off it's hinges. The Winged woman had been talking about how to get everybody up the building and Knives wasn't happy. "She wants go first, I think that's okay with everybody. It's certainly okay with me." Mary answered as quickly as she could manage. She also slid out of the car with her hands up defensively, careful to keep the vehicle between her and Knives. Of course having seen what the woman was capable the car probably wouldn't make much of an obstacle. Knives could go over, around or through the vehicle in around the same amount of time it would take Mary to realize she was dead.

"In fact I don't need to be lifted up, I think I got this." Mary broke away from the group at a full sprint, whoever designed the building had almost designed it to be climbed, a normal human could probably scale this thing, they'd hate themselves afterward but it had plenty of hand holds and footholds going the whole way up and Mary wasn't quite normal anymore. She almost made it look easy as she half climbed, half leaped from perch to perch all the way up the building, occasionally glancing back and wondering why she didn't take what was definitely an easier route. Still one fewer person for the winged woman to carry would probably be something she'd be thankful for later.
