Marshmallow Peeps

You know those little marshmallow chickens that come out around Easter? Is it just me, or are they really the most disgusting of all God's creatures? They really make excellent targets for BB practice I find.

I don't mind eating them once they're stale, but when they're fresh they give me the willies.

Although for you firebugs out there, it's a lot of fun to thread a sparkler through one, then light the sparkler. When it burns through the peep, the peep sorta glows.

I have *no* clue what the link is (and I'm about to leave, so I won't wrack my brain looking), but there is this absolutely HILARIOUS site my roommate found once... it was either Peeps or those marshmallow bunnies undergoing various "experiments" - heat testing, boil testing, explosive testing, etc.



Oh...and I don't dig 'em.

If it's not a chocolate bunny or some Cadbury eggs, keep it outta my Easter basket!!

I love them myself...but part of that might be as a child it was the only easter candy I could really eat without getting totally sick...had a very low tolerance for chocolate.

Easter is my favorite candy holiday ... jelly beans, Peeps, and those Reese's peanut-butter eggs (I don't know why, but they're ever so much better than the plain peanut butter cups).

Anyway, Peeps. Yum! Fresh and squishy, or stale and chewy ... stretch them waaaaaay out, bite their heads ... they inflate and mutate in the microwave, they melt in hot cocoa, they turn into globs of goo coated in crystallized sugar when you toast one over the campfire ... and now they have Peeps for just about every time of year! Halloween pumpkins, 4th-of-July stars, Xmas trees ... but somehow, the classic chick-form is still the best.

Mmm. Peeps!

I can't stand them. They are nasty. My mom told me a story all about how they were made in the 1950's or something and they just can't get rid of them. Ewww....

But she likes them and says to just throw them in the Microwave for about a minute, let them puff up, and then eat them.
