Hey guys...recently, I've gotten quite a bit more religious. The thing used to be that I KNEW I wanted to marry a desi girl, because the culture was similar or the same. Now that I've gotten a lot more involved in Islam, I've realized that that matters a little less to me...I mean it still matters, but now my main requirement is that they be the same religion. Subsequently, in believing in Islam, the culture part has gotten a little filtered out, so I've actually entertained thoughts of marrying non-desi muslims, b/c I've met some nice ones. I'm not close to getting married yet, but just wondering what you guys thought of the topic.

Sorry, but putting religion and culture aside, you're still not my type.

I'm a racist, you post a thread about marrying within your race. Love knows no color, but that is your first condition of your choice. You don't have to be any color, you'd fit in any racist society. Your Islamic choices put you in the same catogory as the fuckers that flew the planes into the WTC, manufacture ricin to use in the underground, or bomb a daycare in Israel. Reality check.

What are you thoughts regarding the things I have mentioned?

My cousins in America both married pakistani muslim girls and although that isn't interracial, it is still quite a departure from the norm. Also, one of their cousins (paki girl) married a indonesian chinese muslim girl and she has been fully accepted into the family and the parents love her to bits!!

I think it is less important for muslims to stick to race - The prophet (SAW) mentions that all people are the same and race doesn't matter.

The Ummah is not united because of just this fact. Race and culture and other artificial barriers get in the way of us joining together. I know I feel the pain of my palestinian, Indian, Kashmiri brothers, but in my mind politicized Islam is wrong too...

What to do???

Well,I think that all people have the right to be happy,and past that....everything else is secondary,

We should utimately follow the Pbuhs example,thats my thoughts.
