I've been a stay at home wife and mom for the past eight years. How can I translate those skills onto my resume to sell myself for an administrative position?

Any helpful hints or suggestions?

Thanks.

Nice ass?

Can ride through most any distraction, staying focused on the task at hand.

On my resume...I had 10 years to fill in...

Domestic Engineer works wonders as a title...

hey ruby, every thing that has been said is true but be careful how you sell it. i spent a lot of years in the personnel business and i'd suggest that you be candid about being out of the work force for x amount of years but save your comparisons for the interview. if you try to relate all of your mothering experience in a resume it comes off as being a bit corny.

seeing as you're a Mom, ability to deal with immature people who think they are the bosses.

Don't forget any organizations/clubs you may have been involved in with your kids; i.e., been a den mother, organized car pools, etc

edited to add, consider a consultation with a professional CV writer, might cost you a little bit but if it helps you get the job you want, it's worth it. Shop around first though.

*laughing* Ain't that the truth.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

Uncle, I'll keep that in mind and just put in a sentence or two about the last few years.

Hey, this one looks good: Administrative Assistant to CEO .... must be willing to travel a week at a time.

Think they'll get me a nanny? ;)
