That has always been a sore point that a chapter will win story of the month. I always believed it would be much better with the vote avg. from the accumulated story chapters would seem a little fairer. Of course it's just another benefit of writing on Lit.

No cost to the writer and may help get more reads. Funny thing is I have had chapter stories nominated also but would still much prefer complete stories be judged. Also it's almost December. Hard to even remember what I wrote 9 months ago. LOL

The prizes are based on score, and many readers prefer ongoing stories. I've never won any of the monthly awards or even finished in the money on them. If I get enough votes to qualify, there are too many troll bombs for a story to have a high enough score.

I've won the monthly (finished in the top 3) 3 times in the last three years. One of my stories was a chapter story. At least it was chapter 1. haha

It felt like an honor just to be nominated. Only one of the monthly stories got a W. Not sure why the other two didn't. Maybe you have to finish first. The only other W I have is from Last years, non-erotic winner. It was a chapter story also.

I have had quite a few stories and poems that were nominated monthly. I have one for March, in Illustrated Poetry. I actually won twice, and both of those were listred as chapters, although they were really stand alone stories with ongoing chartacters.
