Manu or whoever, problem with the ignore feature

I'm posting as unregistered because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. The ignore feature doesn't allow you to ignore anyone who uses punctuation in their user name. Say you want to ignore Joe's Girl. I made that name up. It comes up and says "Username Joe'/s girl not found in our database" It throws the / in there for some reason. Is there any way around that or do I just have to read posts by someone who irritates the living snot of out me?

On topic: The ignore feature does only work for registered users. You can't just generically ignore "Unregistered" no matter who is using the name.
