Hello everybody,

I'd like to have some info regarding what's possible and impossible with my own published stories.

Can I change the title of one of my stories once it's published? I know I can edit the story itself by resubmitting it, but what about the title?

And can I remove one of my stories from the site entirely?

Thanks for the help,

Nisaea

If you click on "submissions" on the main Literotica home page you get to the FAQ Frequently Asked Questions page. If you scroll up to the top you will find answers to most questions.

FAQ is no help...

Hello again.

Thanks for your replies, but the FAQ is no help and I've sent Laurel two e-mails over the last month and a half (or so) with no replies.

Does anybody know how to edit the title or delete a story?

Thanks!

Depending on the time of the year, Laurel is either so busy she can't answer anything for 2 months, or she's free and available and will answer your questions within the same day. Right now, with the Earth Day Contest going on, I suppose she's got a pile of work on top of her.

I'm sorry that I can't help you. My best advice is that you try PM-ing her, and wait patiently. I have tons of great stories for you to read while you wait...

nisaea,

The trick is to PM Laurel, instead of using the e-mail. It's one of those Lit quirks that PM works while e-mail usually doesn't.

As for managing your stories, to the best of my limited knowledge (where is Wierd Harold when we need him?) the answer is "Yes" and "No". It is possible to submit revisions. You can also delete and re-submit a story. However, I don't believe it's possible to change the title AND KEEP YOUR VOTE AND VIEW TOTALS.

Good luck,

To retitle the story, simply submit a "story" with a request.

Please change the title of the currently post "Old Story Title" to the new title, "New Story Title". Thank you!

It takes her a while to do these things, generally, but she does get them done.

If you want to do anything to your stories that are posted, just submit a "story" or a "poem" (depending on what you want changed) with the requested change in the story field.

What Laurel told me to do some time ago, and what always works for me is:

Submit a new story/poem titled "OLDTITLE - Title Change". Then, in the body of the story/poem--"at the top of the submission" were her words"--, write:

NOTE: TITLE CHANGE. Please Change OLDTITLE to NEW TITLE.

Just to be sure, I also write this in the note box, but the few times when I only made the request there, it didn't work.

Thanks!

Thanks guys,

Laurel answered my PM the day after, so I guess you were right: PMs are better than e-mails around here!

I made the submission with the edited story title and I'll see what happens with the votes and views.

Thanks again,

Nisaea

P.S. Some of you have really good Avatars... Nice work!

And oggbashan, I was not expecting to see a quote from Hegel here! Nice touch.

It might change. Everything in this world is mutable.

If I change my signature, then it changes in every post I have ever made. Aren't computers wonderful?

I started with Lewis Carroll, then Chaucer, now Hegel. Who next?

Og.

PS. You too can have a signature but for us inexperienced ones it is polite not to make it too long.

Edited story

Hello,

A quick post to tell you that my story's title has been edited (Thanks Laurel!) AND it has kept it's views and rating.

So thanks again,

Hope to read you soon! :)
