Man, you can't make anyone happy . . .

You mean they DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT ALREADY ?

I wondered about that too. I don't believe there is a normal 14 year old in the world who wasn't aware of masturbation.

This reminds me of Dr. Joyce Elder, who was the surgeon general under Clinton. She suggested that maybe masturbation should be considered in preference to AIDS or STD or childhood pregnancy, and there was such a stink raised that she either had to resign or get fired. Such hypocrisy!

Why weren't there classes like this when I was in school?

I don't know if I was aware of masturbation at 14. I was pretty naive. I didn't actually masturbate myself until I was 20, after my first sexual experiences.

This is so sad. Both sides are angry at the press.
As I recall, old school church teaching is that we live in a world of sorrow, misery and sin and that's important because that lets us prove we're good and makes us look forward to our reward in heaven for being good. If we let everyone masturbate and be happy here on Earth, they won't be able to prove how good they are because the world won't be a sinful, miserable place any longer, and they won't look forward to heaven as they'll have it here on Earth. Um...right?

That's what you get for not reading Judy Bloom.
