Mama had a meltdown

UPDATE

The cops just left. They measured the skidmarks her car left, and estimated her speed at between 40 and 50 mph, so she's been charged with Reckless Driving (20 mph over the speed limit). That'll lose her license for her for at least 90 days, or more, depending how pissed off the judge is, and make her insurance rates skyrocket.

They also issued a warrant for her arrest on the charge of Reckless Endangerment of a Minor. We can only hope for some jail time, but I'll settle for a really hefty fine.

Last, but not least, they charged her with Issuing Threats. That one may not stick, but hey....throwing everything at her is just fine with me.

We have plenty of witnesses, so proving everything isn't a problem.

I can't wait to go to court. :D

You go, momma tiger.

:D

Sounds so like a Cops episode. All this is lacking is the hauling off in handcuffs. I've walked into city streets in front of cars to get them to stop. Had some interesting words with said drivers as well. Don't fuck with kids. Mine or anyone elses for that matter.

Handcuffs...

Now that certainly gives me thoughts, visions. Cloudy would be an incredible vision of boobage with hands restrained behind her back.

Um. I've seen parents on our street fly into that same kind of a rage to those same idiots on our streets. Like yours, we have a 20 mph speed limit in here and there are so many kids that are always out playing. Parents and other adults here are very vigilant even when we appear not to be. Every so often we'll get some idiot who thinks they can go as fast as they want without consequences, until they come close to hitting a child and then, of course, it's always the parents' fault that they almost hit the child. They almost hit other things too...one time some guy came within inches of hitting the back end of my car as I pulled into my driveway; he ended up in a tall hedgerow in a front yard three doors down and ran.

People these days refuse, absolutely REFUSE to take responsibility for their actions, and the more serious the result, the less willing they are to take responsibility. Once upon a time I was hoping that was limited to this part of the country but it appears not. I am so glad nothing happened to your son, Cloudy. SO glad. People like her need to learn that the world is far, far bigger than the one they try to live in.

I can't wait to hear what the judge does. Do keep us updated on this situation...I want to hear about that bitch getting her just desserts. :D

Youngest just now told me that she actually hit the back of his scooter. That's how fucking close she came to killing my child. Gave me the shakes all over again.

Oh fuck. Burn the bitch!!!:mad::mad:

Once again, I'm glad he wasn't hurt.

Lock the bitch up.

Some other good may come out of this, though. Maybe you can get speed bumps installed along the street. Those will prevent speeders like nothing else.

First of all, i am so so glad Spidey is ok. :rose:

Second of all, i can imagine i would lose it just like that if it were me and i had kids, but i'd hope to show the same restraint as you. Again, i admire you for that.

That driver deserves the suspended licence, fine and whatever else they throw at her. It was definately the right thing to do. I am glad that you are getting some results for her recklessness.

But most importantly, Spidey is ok.

I also echo Misty's sentiments who said the first thing she'd do is get her licence plate :D :rose: (she's superwoman, she'd be holding me back AND getting the licence plate AND calling the cops all at the same time :D).

Oh CLoudy.... baby that has got to be nerve wracking.

Proud of you for being the warrior spirit that you are though

Mama bear's got nothing on you darling.

Glad Spidey is OK.

It's almost even better that the cops got involved, this is gonna cost her a lot of money, and to some people, that's worse than bodily harm. :D

When someone messes with my kid, I try to remind myself that it won't do him any good if I'm in jail, but it's hard not break someone's face.

 Glad to hear he is okay and that she is in so much trouble, good lord I got the shakes reading it and wouldn't have blamed you if you beat her ass to the ground. Though probably better you didn't as she'll learn a bigger lesson this way. *hugs for you and spidey*

I'm a little sensitive lately to losing a little one... I know my reaction would have probably ended up with ME in jail. :x
The speed limit on our street is 20 mph.

I wish. Out here it's 55. They do 70. The kids aren't allowed to play in front of the house at ALL.

When we lived in a real "neighborhood" we had something like this happen with my oldest son (who's now 15...) He was about five and riding his bike. Now, granted, he did something stupid and was about to cross between two parked cars. My instincts are the only thing I can imagine that got me up off the couch - I have NO idea why, because I was sitting there doing something on the laptop and he was playing out front - and I went to the front door and saw what was about to happen... I screamed at him because I saw the car coming. She was FLYING. She most certainly wouldn't have seen him and would definitely have hit him. He heard me stopped, thank god.

My mom lost my sister just that way when she was three... crossing between two parked cars.

Streets are scary. Hell, walking down the sidewalk is scary.

Cloudy, so glad to hear Spidey is safe and sound. People like that driver can never look at any issue, particularly one where they're at fault, without placing blame somewhere else. I hope a judge sees that and changes her attitude. Hug him tight and try not to wonder too much about what could have been.

I'm not normally much into physical confrontations, although y'all know I have a mouth on me, and don't hesitate to use it.
Can I pimp your mouth for $600.00 a blow ...

off?

 CH xo:kiss:

Y'all be careful out there. Seriously.

I need a drink.

More power to you, Cloudy.

People - even quite reasonable people - turn into psychopathic morons when they get behind the wheel of a motor car. After all, they're surrounded by a ton of armour, and have seatbelts and airbags and crumple zones and side impact protection beams and God knows what all. They know speed limits don't apply to them. They know perfectly well that nothing will happen to them if they mow your child down.

You're right to be angry.

Hugs!

I'm not normally much into physical confrontations, although y'all know I have a mouth on me, and don't hesitate to use it. I found out just a few minutes ago, though, how readily I will enter into a physical confrontation when someone almost kills my son because they're going fifty miles an hour down a residential street.

I'm still shaking as I type this.

The speed limit on our street is 20 mph. I know that seems slow, but we live in a subdivision with a lot of kids on the roads, and they're always out playing, so you have to be careful.

My son was riding his scooter in the driveway, and looped into the street, barely, every once in awhile. Both my husband and I were out in the front yard, along with another friend of mine, and some idiot bitch going 50 mph down the street came *this* close to hitting him.

Oh, god, does time ever slow down when you see something like that. You'd better believe it.

To add insult to injury, the stupid bitch gets out of her car, and tells me she's going to kick my ass because she would "feel so horrible if she'd hit him." Yep, it's all about her.

When I walked out into the street and told her to take her best shot...I'm talking chest bumping here...she backed off, got back in her car, and then had the GODDAMN FUCKING NERVE to use my driveway to turn around.

I had my hand on the door handle of her car, fully planning on yanking the bitch out, and beating her to the ground (I normally control my temper much better than this), but my husband grabbed me before I could carry it through. He's quite a bit bigger than me, but you know...

...the next time he won't be there, and I will beat her ass to my heart's content. You don't mess with my kid.

Y'all be careful out there. Seriously.

I need a drink.

I know you and me don't always see eye-to-eye, but I'm behind you 100% on this one. Go get 'em girl!

Personally, if it were me, I'd be in jail by now. I'd have wrenched the door open (or off) and beat the fuck out of the driver on their own car. I do have a standing bet with a friend over how high I can bounce someone off the hood of a car, and they'd have been a likely test subject.

Fucking moron drivers...

How about a nice billboard-sized picture of her mug shot you can proudly display in your front yard for a while? I'm sure you can think of a creative caption, too.

CLOUDY

I smell bullshit. Your police story seems like fancy more than fact. No one was hurt and you got some skid marks YOU SAY, and the cops are all jazzed up. C'mon.

Were you near any firewater when you invented this tale?

Cloudy - hopefully you have JBJ on ignore...

Glad to see the wheels of justice turning. Yours is the perfect example of why we shouldn't complain about paying local taxes. In my town, law enforcement is spread so thin, the skid marks would have been washed away by the July rains before the cops managed to fit a non-lethal incident into their busy schedule.

If I could I would give you an alibi while you were taking care of whatever business was needed against said reckless driver.

And I am definitely glad to hear that your child is ok.
