Bah.... Irish! [laughs] Silver tongued devils you are! Now I see where you get it. I think we need a Scottish day so that I can celebrate my own heritage. Although I am trying to figure out what a Scottish Day would look like.

Let's see... St. Patrick's Day is about shamrocks and green, beer and pinching people. So a day celebrating Scotland would be what? Haggis, whiskey and sheep? [laughs]

Heeeeyyyy... now that is an interesting question for the night. I will admit that while I am American, I have a strong Scottish line running through my family line. Except for a little French/English on my paternal grandmother's side, everyone else was of Scottish descent.

So how about you guys? Care you share your family heritage?

I am of African (no idea what tribe or group), Scottish, and Native American (Cherokee/Creek) heritage. :)

About half Irish - hence, red hair and green eyes and skin that burns to a crisp in 14.2 seconds of direct sunlight lol

The rest.....Czech, French, and Lakota Sioux. Dad was from South Dakota, mom's family immigrated from Ireland.

Not as odd as you would think...I would guess a substantial portion of the African American population has some European ancestry though in my case at least part of it came post-civil war. :)
 
Cover Charge Sat. 3/15

Happy Saturday to all! Just taking a quick break from cleaning and thought I would pop on.

Do you know what I miss? Dancing. It has been forever since I have been out on the dance floor and been led in a waltz or the foxtrot. *sigh*

So here is the cover for today... do you dance? And if so, what is your favorite style? Are you a Swing dancer? A sexy Salsa dancer? do you prefer the cha cha or maybe the you like to twirl around the floor to the Texas Two Step?

I am a Swing and Two Step kind of girl. Not sure what that says about me but there you go.

You made me smile thinking back to when I dragged hubby to dance lessons. We learned the fox trot, rumba, waltz and I forget what else. I do love being held in his arms as we dance around the room. Truthfully we butcher all of these dances but being together is what is most important to us. So I guess a nice slow dance like a fox trot where I get to hold my honey bunny. :rose:

Yeah, I had to drag hubby to dance lessons but ultimately he found the one that he likes.. the rhumba. A bit at odds with my favorites but then again marriage is all about compromise, right?

How are you doin' today, Crazy Girl?
 
I am a bit sore today after going to a fitness class but other than that I am doing great thanks....how are you lady?

I do love slow dancing....though I haven't done it for a while. But last time I tried any fast dancing, someone thought I was having a seizure lol :cool:
