[laughs] Sorry. A song from my childhood.

So.. um... what happened to all your clothes?

LOL, I felt exposed/naked after giving away all my temper secrets... thank you kindly for the drink...

Hello Miss Blu, saw you pouring drinks, thought I would finish the week with one...

Although its kinda a tough crowd you hang with...hello Joy and Eden... :)

Hope y'all have a great weekend...

Hey you

Good to see ya. ;)

So why don't you guys tell me? Have you ever been in stressful situation and said something you regret? Have you ever let your anger get the best of you and make you say something untrue and hurtful? And if so, what did you do afterwards?

No.

When I was young, a preacher said probably the wisest thing I ever heard a religious authority say.
"Words, once spoken, can never be unspoken."
And it wasn't even a Bible verse.

Ah. I see I must bring my snark up to par with yours.

Condescenders usually bring out snarkyperky from the get go. The smile fades quickly...

Deathwishers...haven't come across that yet...I would say...dueling deathwish snark at 6 p.m.?

:D

Oh, that's a good one. And it's so damn true. Words cannot be unheard and they chip away at a person's foundation in such an insidious way.

How are you doin' tonight, 1sick?

Hi Blu.

Feeling a bit weary. Banged out a rough story today, needs a lot of editing and polishing, but even then, it probably won't be decent enough to submit here or anywhere else. Still, I gotta give'er a go. But sheesh...

And you?

Ugh! Been a long busy day. I had to go grocery shopping again. Damn it! I just went last week!

So I have an interesting question for y'all.

I was having a discussion with a friend today about things we do and how our actions affect people. He seemed genuinely shocked that something he said once in passing made such a difference to someone else. I confess that I had a similar situation myself. Sometimes things we do seem so slight to us that we are unaware how much those actions might mean to someone else.

So question tonight... have you ever had someone remark that something you said or did meant a lot to them? OR has someone else's passing remark made a difference in your life?

I am really curious as to the answers this question might bring.

I think people don't think enough about how they're saying what they're saying...and our words have way more impact than we think.

The trick is in making clear what our meaning is, and not reading into things too much when an offhand remark hits home. I overthink alllll the time! Sometimes, a remark is just a remark, yanno?

True. But sometimes someone will say something at just the right time and it will change the way you look at things. I know that there is one Litster in particular that told me something once that made a big difference in how I saw things. For him it was a passing remark. For me, it made a huge impression, in a good way.

See what I mean?

So...I put away everything on my breezeway that's been sitting around since Christmas. Decorations, cookie tins, jackets, cookie ingredients, papers....vacuumed the whole thing and then did a shitload of dishes. I finished the laundry, paid my bills, and cleaned the bathroom. And then I had a sandwich.

I've been a good girl. Can I have a beer, please? :)
