In my experience if a man has not had a "serious intellectual" conversation with a woman it is because:
a) he doesn't want to because he does not value inteliigence in a woman
b) he does not seek out the company of women with intelligence
c) he is too boring and/or egotistical for a woman of intelligence to waste her time talking to.
d) he goes out of this way to discount the opinions of intelligent women because they differ from his own opinions.
Men are more pack oriented than women (in general) and they enjoy the posturing that comes from talking to each other and the resulting one-upsmanship. It is more like a "circle jerk" of words than a real conversation.
Just my opinion based on my years of travelling through life as an intellgent woman of color.
