Making bread, making bread, making bread, making bread

MMMmmmmmmmmm pasta!!

You guys are making me wish that I could come to Chicago too!!!

I haven't had a chance to do much baking lately but I did make homemade brownies this weekend (with the creamcheese swirl in it). We have used up the last of the jam from this summer but I still have several cups of handpicked (by me) wild Minnesota blueberries in the freezer. Maybe we should have blueberry pancakes for supper:D

BTW homemade bread is great with spinich dip!

A breadmaker takes the hard work out of the preparation. I make bread every day for having with our dinner. Growing kids need lotsa food. I bake it in the oven rather than the breadmaker as you can do more interesting things that way: rustic loaves, ciabatta, rolls, monkey bread and so on.

I've got the last batch rising for the second time right now.

Yeah, lots of work kneading today!

But there's something so satisfying about working the dough with your hands.

I do think I'm going to mention this to my folks as a possible Christmas sort of gift, though. That way we could do Great-Gram's Swedish rye all of the time.

:)

I couldn't be bothered kneading dough every day. Easier to throw everything in and let it do the work for you. I like the fun bit.
