Making an old story new

Hi everyone,

I'm considering writing a story with the basic plot of: ex-girlfriend visits after married, threesome occurs.

While I feel I can write this story well, it's not all that original or exciting (well, it is to me, otherwise I wouldn't even consider writing it, but you know what I mean). Any ideas on how to spice it up a little? Or maybe add some twists?

Here's a "twist" that happened to me in my real life. My ex boyfriend from high school and an ex girlfriend marry each other, and on my 21st birthday they "tried" to seduce me (alcohol, etc.) and I ended out bored in a threesome from hell. lol
