Did you ever browse the websites with all those cool BDSM toys and winced at the huge sums? Yeah... so did I. Well, I thought, that can't be that hard to make yourself, especially the small leather stuff so useful for CBT.

I'd really like to make my own chasity device like the one i seen on a site not too long ago.
It was made from one cuff from handcuff's and a peice of shaped stainless steele.They were weilded together.It was for a man.

Toy making is great! I'd love to see the stuff you've made.

Hmmm, welding is beyond my means and soldering 2 pieces together might not be strong enough. You need too many special tools to make proper metal toys so I haven't tried that yet. Anyone around here who has done something like that? I'd like to hear what you really need for making such toys. (EEEEEKS, I got that toy making itch again... stop me from raiding the next hardware shop...)

The feel and smell of leather is such a turn on. I wish I had the skill to work with it. I usually end up working with nylon webbing because I like to sew. I do not know that it would work for CBT but it works for some bondage items.

I hope we get lots of posts, pics and ideas on this thread.

What kind of things do you make with nylon webbing, HotXBunz? Harnesses and the like? That's something I'd like to try as well, eventhough my sewing skills aren't too good.

There are so many different ways to make toys. And of course... a lot of things are pervertibles.

I love to browse at Dollar Stores. Try them. You will be amazed at what you find there. My favorite paddle is a one dollar table tennis paddle. And the feather dusters, wooden spoons, candles, they have candles without metal.

Has anyone else found anything to use at the dollar store?

HOmemade spreader bars

Wood dowels and eye screws at each end make delightful and affordable spreader bars. YOu can cut them to size. Don'fr forget to sand them! We wouldn't want our subbies to bet splinters now would we? LOL

Oh gods yes! I love those places.

I've gotten lots of stuff from the Dollar Store (and thier imitators), from handfuls of small brass key locks (the kind they sell all over the place for much more money) to cheap make-up/false eyelashes/etc for playing fetish dress-up to washable markers for, well, writing on skin to different lightweight (and usually quite colorful, too, an added bonus for those of us into including cameras in our play) connectors and clamps to cheap stockings for ripping purposes (can we say "play rape is fun for all", boys and girls?) to... well.. on and on.

If you go to the Dollar Store with $20, you can come out with LOTS of toys. Guaranteed. And it's *fun* to do with your partner, too. Foreplay kinda fun.

Oh yes! Why pay lots of $$$ for an item you can make yourself so easily. Or better yet... get your subbie to make them, all this sanding and painting...

Pervertible shopping

Oooooh yes! Dollar stores and the like... I love them, you find all sorts of great things in them. Some of my fave toys are from such stores.

Tack shops are great too, crops, buggy and dressage whips, they are so much cheaper than in a "kink shop". And I found a brush glove recently, normaly used for grooming a horse, but sooooo nice on a subbie too. Panicsnaps are cheaper there as well.

Try your local pet shop for collars and leashes. I found a really great dog whip lately.

And of course... hardware stores... all my chains come from them, and rivets and grommets...

I love pervertible shopping and you're right Cym, if done with a sub it's almost like foreplay. Just point out an item and let his imagination run wild.

I have bed restraints made of nylon that I snap to leather cuffs. I also have fuzzy baby cuffs made with velcro and webbing. We outgrew them, wanted something more substantial, but they work well for ankle restraints in a bind.

I have seen an expensive bedding system with D rings that goes around the mattress I want to make of webbing. It has two straps that go around the mattress with stragically placed rings. You could hook your cuffs to those.

I have not sewn for the toy box in awhile. This may inspire me.

That bedding system sounds intriguing, easy to store and to take with you for using in hotel rooms. I guess even I could sew something like that together.

Over the door hooks!!!

I have found that those inexpensive over the door hooks that you can buy to hang clothes from work equally well as travelling hooks to attach wrist cuffs and rope to if you do not want to drill holes and look for studs.

You can pack them and they travel well. Just hook one over the door, and close the door. Voila! Instant door suspension!
