Want to know what you think about make-up. Should girls wear it? And if they do, when do they have too much make-up on?

Got thinking today at school, we have some girls in my class I would never recognize without make-up on, some (like me) who never wears any, some who have a bit on and some who only wears mascara.

So, boys and girls, what do you think? And what type are you?

And as an extra, what do you think of guys wearing make-up?

some lip loss for the girls  doesn't hurt...and nothing ever ever for the guys...

I hate makeup, I sweat a lot so if I did wear it it would look like I was melting. But I also feel that its kind of like false advertisement.

Also another thing I hate is seeing other black woman wearing rouge. They look ridiculous, IRL when you blush no one can tell so do not wear it or you will look like you are either a clown or surprised.

To me, a little can be very flattering, but when they try to wear the make-up counter, it's rather hilarious.......

Nothing looks worse than a gal with too much make up. A little is usually nice though.

it depends on where I'm headed. It just looks silly in yoga class, but if I'm headed to a fundraiser, a fresh face assisted with a little make up completes the outfit.

I'm one who wears make-up and I've had different reactions. I don't really care for what I look like w/o make-up, and were you to ask any of my guy friends, one would say that I'm beautiful and in his mind the make-up just detracts from my natural beauty, and then another would say what I wear isn't in excess. Ultimately I wear what I am comfortable with...and I'm like a kid in a candy store w/ make-up, I wear most all of it; concealer, foundation, powder, eyeliner, eyeprimer, eyeshadow, mascara, lipliner, lipstick.

Light powder, mascara, lip gloss...maybe a little "pinch your cheeks" when I'm even paler in the winter...

I never learned to put make up on when I was younger-possibly because I'm so short sighted I can't actually see what I've done and I'm ultimately lazy. I also hated my glasses when I was younger and believed I was so ugly that nothing would make any difference...

It's a matter of confidence for most-putting on a mask helps some to feel that they can face the world.

What I do find interesting is people who don't ever change their make up-they are wearing the exact same as they did when they were 14 or 15...newsflash...it doesn't make you still look like you're that age-rather like having the same hairstyle...

I don't wear very much. Just some mascara, lipstick or gloss and sometimes some eye colour. I do use an eye lash curler which makes the lashes pop alot more then just with the mascara alone. I use a night cream. I used to to do whol foundation and powder thing when I was young and single in the big make-up/hair days of the 1980's. I just find less is more.

OMG my stepmoher is like 40 and she is still doing that frosting /eyeliner thing with her make up. Its like my dad does not have the heart to tell her that the 80s/Early 90s are over!

I know I post my opinion all around, and maybe some don't like it... But, I usually don't do what I am told, so...

I do wear make up sometimes, whenever I go out to a club dancing or when hubby and I go out for a nice dinner.. I don't use foundation or powder, just a little rouge to enhance my natural skin colour.. And as eye shadow I use colours which make my eyes sparkle more. It's not because I think I'm not pretty without it, it's more the whole ceremony of putting it on to look a little different. It's the time I invest to shower, do my hair and my make-up that is as important as the result...at least for me.

And yes, It makes me feel sexier and more adorable.. I haven't changed my looks, go figure, but when I prepare myself for a special event, I come to love me that little more that I tend to forget in the stress of every day, and that's what makes me more secure and sexy.

I do, not as often as I would like though.

Here's another question, how young is too young? That is, should young girls be allowed to wear makeup? Or is there an age line?

There is nothing sexier than women who have a natural beauty without any makeup on at all. That said, there are occasions where it is appreciated - out to a nice dinner, etc.

Also, makeup is cool as a harbinger to sex and the same way a nice dress, stockings, etc. is. It's a great image to have a woman next to you wearing only makeup.

So, as you can see, it's great at its own time. Day to day, no makeup is sexy. Women that wear foundation, etc. everyday just come off as looking fake.

Night on the town = makeup cool

what micia_sira said.. the ceremony of putting it on. (I wish I'd have said that)

Make-up is absolutely fun. Masks are absolutely scary.

Like the sensuous Janey, I wear a little during the day. Some eyeshadow, mascara, lip gloss and if I haven't slept and/or look very pale, foundation. I put on a little more on if I'm going out.

I find it gives me a polished, more put together and enhanced look, and my make-up usually reflects my mood of the day. And honestly, most people aren't sure if I'm wearing any during the day.

As for men, I see nothing wrong with it. Men wore make-up until the 1850s. If they want to wear it, be my guest. Hells, One of my former male roommates used to swipe my tinted moisturiser, because he liked the even tone that it gave his skin.

I think if it done right it looks great, but I don't want her to have so much it looks like her face could crack. :D

I think Grade Eight is a good time to start with some light make-up. I hate seeing grade school girls trying to look like Avril Lavigne.

During the day if I'm going out a little goes a long way, light dust of some kind of that mineral stuff...a touch of gloss and mascara and if no tan a hint of blush.

Working out or just "slugging" around the house I stay away from it.

Night time going out type of thing I tend to use a bit more, but not enough to EVER be that person others look at and say OMG what the hell was she thinking
