Make-Up...Cosmetics, Not Relationships.

the only way to go with mascara is

Estee Lauder. I've used it religiously for years and years. Also a lot of their other products: eyeshadow, lipstick, face powder.. but their foundation is just too damn expensive!

I have to be very careful what I put near my eyes. Cover Girl irritates them terribly. I've never tried the high priced stuff, though. Maybe it's better. I've given up on makeup for the most part.

I'm a cheapy.... I'm a poor college student, so I try to stick to things that are 1: oil-free, 2: cheap, 3: can't be removed without aid of a paint scraper... lol... not really, but I don't want my make-up to budge until I say so! I like L'Oreal quite a bit, but I tend to stay away from foundation as much as I can because I have skin that is too pale for most colors. As for mascara (a must for every woman who was born with piddly-dink eyelashes), I use fake ones... the ones that are separate, not just a big strip. If you apply them right, they can stay on for several days! Then I use Maybelline's green and pink-bottled mascara and an eyelash curler. As for eye-liner, I use liquid so that it won't disappear in the day's heat/humidity. I don't do lipstick, because I can't really find any that stays long... even the stuff that's supposed to be practically permanent. But I did find one that stained my lips for several hours by "The Body Shop." I'm a cosmetic junkie, aside from lingerie. PS. I think they should ban covergirl.... I don't know what it is about that stuff, but it's crappy.

Cover Girl makes me break out. I don't like their stuff anyway-everything I've tried comes out cakey or pasty. I LOVE Estee Lauder. Vixen, is that offer still up for the Pleasures stuff? You mentioned it back before Christmas, but it completely slipped my mind.

CB.. sure! I have access to soap, lotion and milk bath. The milk bath is HEAVEN! pour it into your tub as the water is filling and it smells up the entire bathroom... when you get out you'll be silky soft and smelling absolutely fantastic! e-me and let me know what you want and I'll send you some samples.

I go all natural baby..

Well of course I wear makeup! The natural kind! Well as natural as I can find that actually works.

I'm pretty minimalist usually just slap on some liquid eyeliner on the tops of my lids for normal days. I used to use the covergirl kind in the white bottle with the blue top but it seems to have disappeared so I'm searching for one that compares.

If I'm gettin' all done up... well

I don't use much foundation really, but I get my loose powder, pencil eyeliner and powdered eyeshadow from either the Body Shop, or this little herbal place accross town. I hate lipstick, my lips get really dry in the winter and it just irritates them more. And I don't use mascara either much, but when I do it's Almay, the clear kind.

I'm allergic to everything. :(

At the recommendation of my dermatologist, I use Cetaphil cleanser, which is very good for those with sensitive skin. I can also use the sensitive skin Oil of Olay moisturizer with the sunscreen.

I can't use eye makeup, or foundation, or blush. Lip color looks pretty ghastly without backup, so I use a lightly tinted gloss when I can; it isn't so startling.

I envy you all. I really do.

I use Clinique oil-free foundation and blush. I also have a couple of their lipsticks. (CL, Clinique is supposed to be hypo-allergenic...) For everything else I'm sorta fickle with stuff and change brands when I feel like it. I use drug-store stuff--Almay, L'Oreal, Revlon, etc.

I get a burning sensation with everything from Clinique, even the mildest stuff. It was a surprise to the Clinique person, too; I bought a very mild cleanser and toner and came back the next day with a burning rash.

I just have exceedingly weird skin. Damn it.

I'm trying the new Neutrogena liquid-to-powder compact (God, "Liquid to powder" are three of my favorite words in the English language) right now, and while it's good, it's not as good as I thought it'd be for the money I paid. I buy cheap lipstick-- wet 'n wild or cover girl-- L'Oreal eyeliner and eyeshadow, L'Oreal blush. Max Factor concealer when necessary.

Of course, this is when I wear makeup, which is a rarity.

Celestial Body:
"What brand of cosmetics do you use?"
Cosmetics?
Nope, none of those. I have a skin moisturizer/cleaner... does that count? I don't know who makes it.

What, nobody will admit to having an Avon lady? I don't even use cosmetics and I have an Avon lady. (Well actually, I'm related to an Avon lady.)

I use their hair conditioner and a moisturizing skin gel. Based on the few products I use, Avon is comparable in quality and better on price than the "bigger" names.

Check out http://www.avon.com and find an avon lady near you. They have a lot of stuff for people with sensitive skin, and a wide range of colors for just about any skin tone.

This is my kinda conversation... I am a make-up artist and a make-up addict. LOL. I use everything. I mean everything from EL to Avon to Wetnwild. As far as I have seen most people have a big preference with their make0up but I don't really. I really like Max Factor pan stick for going out foundation, it is thick and your don't need a lot..it doubles as a foundation and a cover stick. You can just blend it in where you need it and poof you can get outta the bathroom. The best under eye circle sevret out there is Preparation H. If you have bags under your eyes just a little dab and rub in and whalla...bags all gone. Tooth paste on a blemish works great as well as tea tree oil. I have all kinda home remedies and such. Thankfully I don't break out from make-up. All my break outs are hormonal. I don't like Marykay though..makes my face itchy.

I have the Naturistics line of make-up, from Sally Hanson and I absolutely love it. There is no refined fats in it or animal products. And, it looks so natural. I never get the "line" on my jaw, or an orange tint like some of the cheeper brands do.
I am allergic to so much crap and I hated using brands, that I know use Resturant greese in their products....Loreal, Cover Girl... All of the pharmacy type brands do it and that is just plain disgusting.

I used Clarins for ages and ages. Its very good if you have sensitive skin. But now I use Loreal and Almay. They are great, but Im not too sure if you have supersensitive skin.
If you have the money Ella Bache is the best that I have come across for supersensitive skins, but its so expensive.

A confession

I am obsessed with lip stuff. Lip gloss, lip stick, lip anything, I love it. I frequently have dreams (nightmares?) where I stand for hours on end in front of a display of lip products, unable to tear myself away yet unable to choose.

To Angel, if you use a clear gloss over your lipstick, your lips will never dry out, plus it helps lock in the color. My lips are never chapped and I wear lipstick everyday.

Also, I just discovered this amazing stuff called Lip Sense. Not only does the color adjust to your skin tone, but it never comes off! It's fantastic, it's such a thin formula that it just conforms to your skin. The only way to get it off is enthusiastic scrubbing with soap and water. It's the best. The only problem is, if you make the weensiest mistake putting it on, you have to spend forever trying to get it off, and then re-apply.

I use some Cetaphil to clean my skin and Neutrogena Toner then Eurcerin for the face. This was suggested by a female plastic surgeon I know (she uses it). I use Clinque for eye color they have some great shades. Lancome lipstick is so wonderful as is philosophy. I do not wear mascara it is too irritating to me. Lancome also makes a powder that is wonderful and I use that to even out skin color. The stuff lasts a long time so even though it is a little expensive it is worth it.

I tried some of that cake to powder stuff. For almost a year everytime I appeared in a photograph I looked like a Geisha. I thought for a long time that the pictures were just over exposed or had improper lighting. Then I realized it was the make-up. DUH.
