One of the accusers who destroyed Harvey Weinstein, Asia Argento, has been accused of sexually harassing a man and then paying him to be silent about it, according to the New York Times.

The Italian actress and director Asia Argento was among the first women in the movie business to publicly accuse the producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. She became a leading figure in the #MeToo movement. Her boyfriend, the culinary television star Anthony Bourdain, eagerly joined the fight.

But in the months that followed her revelations about Mr. Weinstein last October, Ms. Argento quietly arranged to pay $380,000 to her own accuser: Jimmy Bennett, a young actor and rock musician who said she had sexually assaulted him in a California hotel room years earlier...

Conservatives are having a ball about this on Twitter, saying that her hypocrisy discredits Me Too.

On the contrary, if she's guilty of this, her downfall is an absolute certainty. That is proof that Me Too is legitimate. Lady Justice might not be blind but she does have cataracts.

You hadn't mentioned what you mean by "a certain age" but now I see you apparently refer to young people. I'm not defending anybody; this was statutory rape, even though I have a hard time thinking of the teenager as a "victim."

If you are still referring to the incidents in AL almost 40 years ago, the girls there were old enough to give consent, so no statutory rape occurred.

So true, I just wish certain segments of society would stop glorifying young underage boys "being made into a man" wink wink by older women. Of course a man in the reverse situation would be crucified. There is a huge double standard when it comes to situations such as statutory rape.

Then, in turn, these same older women predators see nothing wrong with taking advantage of these young boys. The entire situation is gross if it really happened.

I frequently point an angry finger at feminists who say this isn't rape, but yeah, these idiot men who rant about how they wish they got laid by some woman at that age are also half of the problem. They're all scumbags.
