I think it was increased to 100. That number includes everything in your mailbox though. All the PM's you've sent, received, and are tracking.

My box was rejecting messages when I had a total of about 10 of anything. Now I strive to keep it empty. Some messages were never resent, and that, of course, tantalizes.
