For those who have used both, is there a difference in how long the results last?

I've checked out the threads and it seems that some people have had painful (in the bad way) experiences with Magic while others love it. I'm wondering if Nair works OK for me, is there something better about Magic.

BTW, I don't go all bare, just neaten up the sides for bikini wear.

Thanks for any advice.

You need to try magic for yourself. Results will vary for each person, and reactions to the chemicals will be different as well.

Our boy uses both nair and magic, depending on which he can find and what part of his body he's getting hairless. He has found that magic is better for some parts while the nair is fine for others. I, personally, can't use nair, as I get horrible horrible chemical burns from it. I haven't tried the magic as of yet, but I did try the veet stuff (it's basically the female version of magic, as near as I can tell), and it works pretty well, I think - I just used it today ... I'll let you know how long it lasts when I know ;) :p

magic shave was created for use by black men with very coarse hair. black men with very coarse hair who can tolerate a great deal of pain, i might add. as a black female with coarse hair, my experiences with magic shave have been horrific. it burns, stings, and just removes my hair in patches. did i mention it BURNS??

anywho, i can see magic shave working much more effectively (and less painfully) for someone with finer hair, like a caucasian person. but i think magic would be taking it too far in that case. if i had to pick one, i'd pick nair. but i've found that to be painful as well. my favorite hair removal method of the day are all the veet products...the roll-on wax, the 5 minute cream, and the bladeless system. they all work great, last long, and don't burn. if they work so well for someone with my grade of hair i can just imagine the results on someone with finer hair.

Actually, when I used the veet yesterday, I had a lot of trouble where my hair is more coarse ... it didn't take it all off (that patchy problem that you have with magic) and because I do tend to have sensitive skin, I didn't want to risk leaving it on any longer (I had already left it on for more than the 3 minute minimum).

So the best advice is still - try it and see if it works on you.

Agree. I'm of primarily Anglo-European extraction, pale sensitive skin, fine hair on body. And neither Nair or Magic would even take the hair off!! My body hair looks fine but is apparently quite strong. The only thing that would work is waxing  and those wax strip wouldn't even work, or shaving. When I shave I stay horribly red and itchy and bumpy on my mons until time for the next shave. What finally worked for me was just shaving from around the clit on back, which is different skin and doesn't have the same problem. Point being, you may need to experiment quite a bit and realize that different patches of skin will react differently.

regardless of what the label says, i leave all those cream type products on for about 10 minutes. yep, i'm a bad girl.

I have used nair, magic and veet.... they all burn unless i put a very thin coat of baby oil on first... for some reason that seems to keep it from burning.

The baby oil probably works because it acts as a shield between the moisture in your skin and the removal product. The only time i've ever had any problem with Magic burning, my skin was slightly moist. If i don't dry the spatula if i rinse it off while removing, then it stings.

For me, the Magic works much better than Nair. The regrowth takes a lot longer and the regrowth is much softer and less sharp (if that makes sense).

Because of a problem i've been having, my doctor has advised me not to shave under my arms with a razor. As soon as the current problem heals, i'll be using even more Magic.

I have noticed the same thing. Only that little area around the clit shaves silky smooth, but I wan't everything bare. Do you try something else for the rest of it or only groom that part?
