Gatorade or powerade will re-hydrate you the fastest. And level out the blood sugar. The rest is time dear.

As me dear departed Mother always said, "Ninety per cent of life is timing, the other 10 per cent is position."

GOD.... No... nooooo! No more alcohol... I'm not a huge drinker, so this is my first like... major hang over. It just... isn't worth it, man. I tell ya... if I even told you what I drank... LOL

Techinically ther aint no hangover cure.
You got to ride it out.

I have to go with a coke too. Also...I don't know why this helps, but it helps me...Honey on a saltine cracker. The honey does something...

Fluids, oddly including coke... never underestimate the power of Alka Seltzer...

Spicy food. Either a good mexican or asian meal, but not too big, just enough to enjoy the stimulation of the spiciness while getting some carbs.

Have any of you tried taking a B6 and B12 vit. before drinking??? I always do before I go out drinking...I've never had a hangover...even when I've gotten totally wasted. :) Just a tip for before ya drink...don't have any hangover tips though...

Never tried the vitamins, SweetBrat, but I'm mostly immune to hangovers naturally. The only time I've ever had problems is after a night drinking a local brew in a small African country, and their quality control was somewhat lacking (They recycled bottles used for insect repellent). So it might be just you.

When you wake up, take 2 Excedrin, a Gravol and drink about 2 L of water. If you have it, Gatorade or Powerade work wonderfully. But lots of water the night before is key.

i've been having hangovers for years and i have a few solutions

Get outside in the fresh air for 15 mins (go buy a paper)

If you smoke (dont) as it makes you feel grimy and gives a head rush

Eat a cold yoghart or drink milk (dairy products generally) bit fragile at first but settles the stomach well

Start moving around and dont veg as veging makes you feel really poo

Maybe a wank to liven the insides

When someone I know has a hangover, I like to play the violin really badly. I don't know if it speeds recovry, but it certainly brings a smile to my face.

Hmmmm...

I've heard of the water thing too. Don't know of anything else except sleep and lots of it. I do know a cure for hiccups though. A bartender told me. Take a slice of lime and splash it with bitters. Then suck on it. And it worked too!

There is no works-for-everyone cure

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but nothing works for everyone. You'll just have to find the best solution for you.
Generally, drinking a large glass of water before going to sleep helps, because it rehydrates you (which is the main reason your head aches so much the next morning). Keep in mind, of course, that if you wake up during the night to pee, you need to drink another glass of water. Also, spacing out your alcohol intake with juice/water and some food is another good way to avoid a hangover (though it doesn't get you as smashed the night before, either).
In the morning, drinking sports drinks (like Gatorade) or juice will help rehydrate you and level out your electrolytes, etc.
Theoretically, the usual painkillers (Excedrin, Tylenol, Advil, etc.) shouldn't work, because they cause swelling to decrease, (and the reason your head is throbbing is because you're dehydrated, not because your veins/arteries are swollen, like with "regular" headaches). This theory also goes for coke, which is full of caffeine (a major non-medicinal ingredient in most painkillers). So any relief from these products may just be in your head. (No pun intended).
Of course, if you're stomach isn't happy, treat it the way you would any other time your stomach hasn't been well; whether that's Gravol, saltines (soda crackers), etc.

As for the hiccups, the cure for those is dependent upon the cause. That's why there are so many "old wives' tale" about how to cure the hiccups. Drinking water, sucking on something, holding your breath, hanging upside-down, etc. etc. Look to the cause before looking for a cure.

Well, good luck with curing whatever may ale you!
