Mafia Toy (Closed to Ravenloft)

Asuka's body stiffened as he pulled her into an embrace, she stood her still not knowing how to react to his sudden closeness and how soothing his words were. She slowly let her body relax into his form and she lay her head down onto his shoulder. She moved her arms up to grip onto his shoulders and she hugged him tightly as the tears began to roll down her cheeks. "I...hate that he asked me to do this..." She said now as she tried to fight back her cries but it could be heard in her voice and she couldn't hide that.

"Why did you?" Vincent asked, his tone neutral as he continued to sooth her by stroking his hand through her hair. "For love right? There's something you should know, I think Asuka..." Vincent added, looking back toward his bed room door, off from the studio. He stepped back, offering her his hand to lead her back to the other room. "I keep files on all my boys, even your man... And well... Just come look..." He suggested.

Back in his room, he motioned to his man who was waiting for them to come back, to step outside. Then he went and pulled a folder from a filing cabinet next to his desk. "Here, its all in here... Your man's file... Have a seat, it may take you some time to get through it..." Vincent said softly as he sat the folder on his desk, pulling his seat out for her to sit in.

She nodded her head slowly as he asked her why she was doing all of this and if it was for love. She loved him yes but their relationship had changed since he had asked her to marry him. She watched him as he moved away from her, he offered his hand to her and she took it. She used her free hand to whip away her tears as he lead her back to the other room and she held a curious look on her face. He wanted her to see a file on her soon to be husband, she didn't know if she really wanted to look at it or not and she feared what she might find. She always had a feeling that he was hiding something from her but she loved him and trusted him so she let it go but now she was being offered a file on him.

She looked to the other man in the room watching as he stepped out side and her eyes moved to Vincent as he made his way over to a filing cabinet. She watched him as he placed it down on the desk and she just stood there debating if she should look or not but in the end she sat down in the chair flipping the file open. She began to read not believing what was written, there was several reports on a few jobs he had done, photos of women he had been with before and even now as well as how much he was in debt even after all that she had done. When she was finally finished with it all she simply sat there looking blankly at the last page, an overwhelming anger over came her suddenly which was surprising for the type of girl she looked like on the outside and she suddenly place a hand on the file sending it fly across the desk pushing several pages up into the air.

Vincent had refreashed his drink while Asuka read the file and was taking a slow sip of it while sitting on the edge of his bed when she sent the folder flying. He lifted his eye up from the contents of the glass, to her as he rose and circled around to stand behind her.

Setting the glass down, he placed his hands upon her shoulders and began to massage lightly. "Your anger is justified, Asuka... If you don't have trust, what do you have?" He said sofly as he slowly knelt down to level his lips to her ear. "I would never treat my woman like that... If I had one." He whispered, his hands moving down and in. One rested across the top of her breasts, in a chaste caress, the other on her cheek, gently guiding her to turn her face toward his. His warm breath carried the pleasant aroma of fine brandy. "So... Do you think you can trust me?" He asked as he leaned in to kiss her on the lips.

Asuka tensed as he circled around her and moved to stand behind her now. She had no idea how to reach to all of this, she jumped a bit as he placed his hands upon her shoulders and began to massage them. Her body slowly relaxed as she sat there in shock, his breath on her ear made a chill run down her spine and then she felt his hands moved down her body. One moved to rest across the top of her breast while the other moved to her cheek to tilt her head gently. Her eyes moved to lock onto his own, her eyes were filled with anger but at the same time tears threatened to appear because she had been so foolish to fall in love with someone and trust him completely so easily.

She could easily smell the scent of brandy on his breath and his question caught her off guard but it wasn't as bad as when he kissed her. Her lips were frozen unable to move as he kissed her, could she really trust this man that she had just met and had he just shown her all this to show her the truth or was it just a way for him to get what he wanted from her. She broke the kiss moments later with a light blush along her cheeks, she looked away from him now and stood up slowly. "You haven't given me a reason not too...Ummm." she looked up at him now with that blush still apparent across her cheeks, "Thankyou...for showing me the truth but what am i going to do now. I can't go back to me and no affiance but i don't want to work of is debt any longer..."

"Too soon, you damn fool." Vincent thought as he felt Asuka return NO passion, absolutely none in her kiss. He stepped back once she broke the kiss, giving her room to breath. He coughed once, trying to pretend that nothing had happened just then. "Right, right... Well... If you don want to work off his debts any longer, believe me, I understand that. How bout you stay here, be my personal art teacher then? I promise I'll be more professional." He didn't say that because she no longer wanted to work off Tony's debts that he was about to get a nice new pair of cement shoes. "After all, if you don't have respect, what do ya got?" He asked, picking up his glass again and taking another drink from it.

Asuka looked up at him, it was a bit odd between the two of them now but for her it wasn't because of the kiss. It was because she found out the love of her life was a two timing lair and she wanted more then anything to see him in as much pain as she was in right now. She gave him a bright smile as he told her she could stay here and be his personal art teacher. "I didn't mind the kiss Vincent...i was just still in shock i guess from everything." She gave a soft sigh now as she moved closer to him and lay her head on his chest now for a few moments. "It very nice of you to let me stay here..." she lifted her head up once more leaving her lips only an inch or two from his, "I'll do my best as your teacher..."

Vincent tightened his jaw as Asuka softly confronted the issue of the kiss while resting her head on his chest, where she could hear his heart racing. He could hide his emotions outwardly, but there was nothing he could do to hide this. Vincent looked down into Asuka's eyes as she lifted her head, accepting his offer to stay and be his teather. He swallowed as he parted his lips to speak. "Kiss her, now's the right time!" The voice in his head said. He wasn't sure about that though, so he turned his head away, taking another drink of his brandy. "Okay, just tell me what you need, and I'll send Mitch to go get it tomorow..." Vincent said as he stepped back to arms length, taking her hand and kissing it as he would kiss the hand of the queen of england.

Asuka almost seemed to hold her breath as her lips hovered so close to his own and he seemed to debate with himself if he should kiss her now or not. She could feel his heart racing underneath her hands, he turned his head away from her now to take another drink of his brandy and she let out a slow breath as he stepped back from her. "I just want as much of my things a possible and my art supplies if im going to teach you." She was disappointed and it could be seen on her face as he lifted her hand up to his lips to kiss it. She wanted to feel his lips on her own once again but when it did happen again she would be sure to return it with everything she had. He made her feel like royalty the way he kissed her hand and when he released it she crossed her arms over her chest.

Vincent had nearly given in to the voice in his head, but he knew it wouldn't be what he really wanted from her. If anything, the kiss would be based soley upon two lonely people seeking solace in the darkening night. For Vincent's part, he wanted love, and he knew that took time. If he had taken that kiss just now, he knew it wouldn't have meant anything. It had to be right. At least she was staying, maybe, in time, things would be, and she could maybe fall for him.

"Done, and done." Vince said, turning eyes back toward her with a slight smile to hide the loneliness he felt. "Here, you can take my bed Asuka, i'm not the least bit tired, I think I will go work on my painting... Alone... For awhile... Just call Mitch if you need anything, he's to stay just outside the door." Vincent started walking back toward the door to his private studio.

Asuka sighed softly at his words, at least that was taken care of and she didn't have to see Tony until she was ready to. I would be hard for her at first, Tony was all she had ever had for such a long time and he had been with her for several years. Thinking about him just then made a few tears roll down her porcelain like skin and she simply gave Vince a smile as he told her he was going to work on his painting for awhile. She was about to join him taking a step forward but stopped as he added the word alone soon after, she frowned a bit not really wanting to be alone with her thoughts right now but she would have to deal with all of this sometime. She watched as he started to walk back to his private studio and she turned her back to him to head for his bed. She laid her self out on it now finding the material under her body softer then anything she was use to and she rolled over onto her side her feet curling up to her body.

She kicked her shoes off moments later and just began to stair out the window. Her eyes quickly began to go heavy and before she knew it she was fast asleep. She rolled onto her back at sometime and you could easily seen her chest rise and fall with each breath. Her black dress was slightly hiked up with her movement in her sleep and one of her straps had fallen down her shoulder.

Vincent tried to do some more painting on the portrait of Asuka he had started, but he just felt empty. He started to pace back and forth, shooting a glance back at the door to his room every now and then. "Go ahead, go in there and wake her up, Romeo." The voice in his head taunted. "Whatsa matter, don't ya like women?" Vincent growled under his breath. "What harm would it do if you just peeked in while she was sleeping, huh?" Vincent stopped in front of an open container of paint beside the easel, looking down at it, seeing the milky reflection of his worn and tired face looking back up at him. "Enough!" He shouted as he kicked the can across the room, showering the far wall with its contents.

"What the hell am I doin? Getting all twisted up in knots over a woman..." He said to himself as he went over and sat in the red velvet love seat Asuka had laid in a few hours before. It didn't help that he could smell her perfume as he sat there, fighting his feelings. It was a losing battle as he felt tears of frustration and self loathing fill his eyes. He turned his head and burried his face into the cushioned arm rest, staining it with his tears as he breathed in her lingering scent. The emotional release, mixed with all the booze he'd drank quickly put him to sleep, there, on the love seat.

He was still asleep when Asuka woke up and knocked at the studio room door several hours later.

Asuka slept so soundly through out the night, it had been the best night of sleep she had ever had since she started paying of Tony's debt because her actions haunted her dreams but tonight her dreams were blank. She didn't stir until the sun began to creep into the room from the uncovered window and her eyes fluttered open slowly once the sunlight hit her face. She turned over onto her back and began to stretch out slowly. She lay there sprawled out on the bedding and then sat up to look around the room. Vince was no where to be found and she wondered where he had slept since she had taken his bed.

She got up off the bed running her fingers through her short hair to straighten it out and she adjusted her little black dress so it didn't reveal anything. Her eyes fell on the door to his private studio, she moved over to it now laying at ear on the door to hear if he was in the room and then she knocked softly. "Vincent?" she called out to him now, there was no answer and she turned the knob to open it slowly. "Vincent...are you in here..." she reached out to flip the switch turning on the light and she saw him laying there asleep in the velvet love seat. She smiled softly moved to sit down besides him and she reached out to run her fingers down his cheek. "Vince did you sleep here all night?"

"Hmm? No... I, uh... Yeah. I guess I did." Vincent murmured, still half asleep. "Hey..." He whispered as he opened an eye, a small smile creeping across his lips, she looked like an angel to him, with her smooth white skin lit by a shaft of light comming down in a slant from the high windows along the east side of the studio. "Hey you, anyone ever tell ya you look like an angel in the mornin?" He asked, sitting up.

Asuka giggled soft at how he spoke to her still half asleep, he opened one eye to look up at her and a smile crept across his lips. A smile of her own crept across her lips and she moved a hand to push some strands of her hair out of her eyes. She blushed suddenly as he asked her if anyone had ever told her that she looked like an angel in the morning. "Umm...no...no one as ever said something like that to me before." She sat up a bit as he did and laid her hands in her lap.

Vincent yawned and stretched before looking at Asuka with ernest eyes. "Well, ya do, angel face." He said, putting his hand on top of hers and gently squeezing it. "Feel like having some breakfast? I can get mitch to bring us something, or if you prefer, we can always go out some place. My treat. Oh, and while we're at it, if Mitch didn't get every thing you think we will need for my painting lessons, we can always stop at one of those fancy shops an get the rest."

Asuka gave him a soft smile and giggled a bit as he yawned then stretched out his limbs a bit. He placed a hand on top of her own and gently squeezed it. "Well thank you..." she said with a bright smile, she couldn't help but to smile around him because he made her feel so good about herself were Tony seemed to ignore her at times and it had been a while since he had given her the compliments that Vince gave her ever second he could. "I would love some breakfast, it don't mind either of the two. If we go out then we can pick up a few things from one of those fancy shops." she said with a soft giggle, "I want to teach you from the beginning now that ill be stay longer and now have more time to teach you."

"You're more'n welcome Asuka, it was nice to wake up seeing your smilin face. Lets go out, I'll have Mitch get the limo and bring it around front, what do ya say? Take a quick shower, and then we can go." Vincent realized that sounded like he was suggesting they shower together and caught himself, adding. "I mean, you go first, and all... Heh." He scratched the back of his neck, slightly embarassed, even though the thought of showering with her did give him a happy. "Student-teacher relationship, remember, student-teather. He thought to himself as he patted her hand before he got up off the love seat.

"Mitch, would you get Asuka here a set of towels, then bring the limo round front, we're going out. Oh..." Vincent got closer to Mitch, who was already comming through the door to answer the bosses call. "And get that paint cleaned up while we're gone..." He whispered, hoping that Asuka hadn't noticed the mess he'd made last night. "Yeah boss, you got it. Oh, and by the way, about Tony... He wasn't home last night, I think he may have given us the slip boss." Mitch replied as he glanced over at Asuka.

"Yeah? Well, you keep the boys on the look out for him, capice? The sooner that rat-shit-bag takes a dirt nap, the better off we're all gonna be, got it?" Vincent said in an agitated whisper before sending Mitch away. He turned back toward Asuka, smiling. "Sorry bout that, just a little bit of business going on today. Where would you like to eat breakfast?" He asked as they waited for Mitch to come back with the towels.

She smiled softly at how his words sounded but she understood what he meant with out his explanation. She nodded quickly with that warm smile still along her lips, he eyes turned to Mitch as he entered the room and she watched the two of them as they began to whisper to each other. She wondered what was up because Vincent looked displeased for a few moments but it wasn't any of her business.

"Umm...well ive never been to his part of the city so i don't really know any places...You pick im sure ill be happy with anything you chose." She stood there as they wait for Mitch to come back with the towels, something had been on her mind since last night and she should asked him now. "Vincent...what will happen to Tony now that i refuse to work off his debt?"

"Kay, how about a nice french cafe? I know one that serves this amasing coffee and flakey, buttery croissants." Vincent suggested before Asuka asked about Tony. "Tony? What do you think's gonna happen to em?" Vincent countered as he crossed his arms against his chest.

"The Cafe sounds wonderful." she said now with a sweet smile but it soon faded as he asked her what she thought was going to happen to Tony. She began to figit with her fingers now as she look at him standing there with his arms crossed over his chest. "I...i don't know...he may of treated he badly and cheated on me but...i don't want..." she didn't want to even finish her sentence, her eyes moved to the door as Mitch returned with some towels for her and she moved rather quickly from her spot to take them from him.

She didn't really want to talk about it any more, it was his business what he did but it still upset her to know that might be a possibility. "So where will i be staying...i can't take up you bed another night i can't be too comfortable on that couch." She said with a rather fake smile, she was trying to change the subject and was trying to hide her feelings.

Vincent sighed as Asuka walked away from him, taking the stack of towels from Mitch. "You probably shouldn't have said that to her..." He thought as she turned and asked him where she could stay, not wanting to take his bed away from him another night. "Mitch, you got Asuka her own room yet?" He asked, looking from her to Mitch, then back to her when he nodded. "Yeah Boss." Mitch answered.

Vincent dismissed Mitch again as he slowly walked over to Asuka, reaching out to gently touch her cheek. "Don't do that... I've got enough people around who fake their respect for me... If you don't feel like smiling at me, don't, kay?" Vincent whispered with a deep sadness in his eyes before he turned away. "I'll leave ya to your shower now, just come down when you're ready. I'll be out front by the limo."

Asuka watched to two men pleased when Mitch said he had a room for her not that it wasn't interesting sleeping in his own. His scent was all over his bedding and she enjoyed it but it wasn't appropriate for her to sleep there. She tensed a bit as he walked over to her and reached out to gently touch her cheek. Her smiled disappeared at his words, so he had seen how fake her happiness had been and it made her feel a bit sad as she cause the sadness in his own eyes. She nodded slowly just before he turned away from her, she held the towels against her chest as she left the room and followed Mitch down the hall to her room. "Thank you for everything Mitch." she said with a bright smile before she walked into her room and closed the door behind her.

She was surprised now as she looked around the room, everything that had been hers was there down to her make-up and perfume that sat on a vanity for her. I almost made her cry for Vincent to make sure she felt like home here, she moved to the closed finding all of her things hung up for her and she proceeded to pick out a light pink spring dress. Moments later she was under the hot stream of water washing away all her troubles as she stood there, she sighed softly as she finished washing up and turned the water off. She dried her self off dressing quickly and the drying her hair which didn't take long because of how short it was.

She moved to sit down at the vanity now to apply her make-up and she sprayed some of her perfume on one wrist. She then rubbed them together and then rubbed them just below her earlobes. She put on some loped earrings and then a small silver chain. She didn't have much in the ways of jewelery because she could never afford anything more, she pulled her pink heels on now and picked up her purse on the way out the door. She made her way down the stairs and stepped out into the day light pulling out her sunglasses to shield her eyes. Vincent stood there by the limo just as he had said he would be and she gave him a soft smile.

Vince looked up at Asuka as he took a drag off a cigarillo, unconciously doing a double take as he opened the passenger side door for her. Classical music was playing inside the limo, Vivaldi, four seasons. "Well, look at you. You're looking like a movie star today." He dropped the smoke and put it out with his heel as he blew the smoke away from Asuka, so that she didn't get a face full of it.

He went around after climbed in and got in on the other side, sitting next to her. "Do you like the music? Cause if not, I can have Mitch change it." Vince asked after a moment of uncomfortable silence.

Asuka went to reach of the hand of the limo herself but he beat her to it, she wasn't use to men opening doors for her and she rather enjoyed the attention that he gave her. "I hardly look like a movie star..." she said with a soft giggle as a deep blush spread along her cheeks, "I simply wanted to look good since ill be with you." she watched him as he dropped the smoke to the ground and put it out with his heel. She slid into the limo now as he blew the smoke away from her which she was grateful for, she didn't care for the smell and would never go out with Tony because he want to place where people smoked like crazy.

She watched him through the windows as he walked around to the other side of the limo and got in on the other side. She gave him a smile as he sat down next to her, "I love all kinds of music...i don't really mind what we listen to." She was silent for a moment as the limo took off down the road, she moved her gaze over at him a few times and then finally spoke. "Are you uncomfortable around me for some reason?" she asked now referring to how he made sure she would take his words in the wrong way and how he acted around her sometimes.
