So I was looking over the plot of “The Monster Men” by Edgar Rice Burroughs. In it a mad scientist goes off and tries to make articificial humans and once he’s perfected making an artificial human he plans to marry his daughter to it. Anyway, the 13th monster seems perfect and after the mad scientist and his assistant are defeated, his daughter does fall for the monster, only to find out he wasn’t a monster at all but an amnesiac aristocrat who a cook found and disguised as a new experiment.

…and honestly, what’s the fun in that?

So what about a story where a mad scientist’s daughter rescues his monsters after he’s been defeated and tries to help them integrate into society, all the while not knowing…or maybe knowing that originally she was promised as a prize to them if they served the scientist well?

Just think it could be fun watching a woman try and find other uses for her father’s monsters that were meant for destruction while also having to deal with their eccentricities and attraction to her.

For example: Harpy

“Okay, so you find a stranded hiker. What do you do?”

“I fly them back to base.”

“Good!”

“And then I prepare them for slave chip insertion.”

“No!”

“I…stabilize their vitals?”

“Yes.”

“…and call it in?”

“Yes!”

“can we have sex now?”

Or mind controlling tentacle monster:

“So you see someone looking tense but they don’t seem to have a weapon.”

“Ah, that’s easy. I simply send an order pacifying them and telepathically contact security to go and talk to them.”

“Very good! Where did my clothes go?”

“Oh I have no idea. You came in here and stripped of your own volition, surely overcome with the lust you’ve been secretly harboring towards me.”

“Stop going in my mind without consent.”
