Macron Wins Reelection

I suspect that Macron was relieved when Le Pen came second in the first ballot. He would always beat her, but the socialist would have run him much closer. But I still don't know what Macron really stands for.

He's been the leader for a while. Look at his policy decisions and figure it out

Will Le Pen concede tomorrow, or will there be pointless recounts, audits and lawsuits?

Already conceded

What? Oh those silly French right wingers. They gotta concoct some vast lunatic conspiracy theory of how Macron stole the election from Le Pen with the help of Chinese bamboo ballots and the ghost of Hugo Chavez.🤪🤪🤪🤪

Le Pen found a very bad time for having to run nationally, but I guess one never knows considering what's been happening in other countries.

what socialist? And would that have been better or worse for
a. France's economy
b. Europe'-Ukraine's stability

But I still don't know what Macron really stands for.

yeah, neither do I.
Also:

Right now, mst people agree that Macron is the best option for Europe, in times of Putin-Hitler. Anything but LePen
-- But prior to 2021, wasn't Macron labelled as neoliberal-croney, and weren't the Yellow Vest protests ignited by HIS measures?"?
-- Didn't the Public's perception of him shift like ? 180?? following Putin's invasion?

I read that Euros were saying a vote for Le Pen was a vote for Putin.

?????
Were you and I reading different newspapers?

I don't know much about his Policies tbh, but all I was reading prior to 2020 was "Macron sold his working class at Davos" "Yellow Vests protesting again".

Go back and google French election first round results. Le Pen got 2nd place by only 1.2% points from the third placed 'former socialist' Melenchon who got 21%. Therefore Macron got most of the third placed Melenchon's votes in the second round. Had Melenchon beaten Le Pen in the first round it is reasonable to assume that he would have picked up votes from the Green, Communist and 'official' Socialist candidate and got much closer to toppling Macron than Le Pen did.

She conceded on Sunday on the basis of the exit polls, not waiting for the final results. European elections are more civilised than US ones.

She and newly-re-elected president Macron appealed for unity and to recognise that France should unite after the elections. Some of Le Pen's supporters were not so forgiving, promising street protests and riots.

Honestly, After watching the anti-Macron protests until 2022, I think that the 'lower class' French person would have been far better off with a socialist party.

Macron claimed to be centrist, but he implemented some measures that benefitted the ultra-rich while hitting the working class and the farmers. Even in his climate change policies.Hence the protests.
The only thing unclear to meis whether he did it out of misguided economic ideology, or because the neoliberal system is too entrenched and hard to fight. He doesn't come across to me as the "donor appeaser" American politician type.

P.S.
incidentally, I'm also watching the post-election riots, and the nonsense writtefn by massmedia "right-wing racists", " pro-Putinists". It must have to do with how they feel each candidate can help France's Economy

Feel free to post articles with that type of positioning

I shouldn't have generalised, haven't read the US/UK press yet.

From my source that compiles and captions EE news, I see that many label them as "Putin-ists."??
I now see that an Au site calls them ""ultra-leftists".??

""Several hundred demonstrators from ultra-left groups took to the streets in some French cities to protest Macron’s re-election and Le Pen’s score.""
