You definitely missed the point. The first time I was doing sound for a band and some 21-22 year old kid came up and nervously said, "Sir, could we get a little more monitor on that side?" I almost cracked him upside the head. SIR!!! I played in rock bands for 20 years. I have groupie stories. I have bar fight stories. I have police scanner bleeding into your guitar amp stories (Spinal Tap is the greatest movie ever). SIR!!!

Yeah, I realized I had officially gotten old. Fuck.

Now I teach guitar and bass to kids whose parents are younger than me. Fuck Fuck!

Some waitress at a bar gig a couple months ago told me I looked like I was in my 20's. I offered to marry her on the spot. That's how you talk to your elders, sonny (just kidding Joe, we're all a little sensitive about getting old).

I say "Thank you ma'am" all the time out of courtesy, regardless of the age of the woman I'm speaking with. My dad was a Brit, so growing up good manners weren't optional
