Lzerotica?

They swiped Catering Girl on me. At least the had the decency to do it after I made a few editing corrections.

I’m flattered that you think so, but after four years and 58 published works, I’ve got 381 followers.

I’m not whining about it, though, I don’t write fap fodder and I have little interest in most of the popular categories. That’s my choice. I am very grateful that many of our fellow authors follow me. I really appreciate that affirmation.

FWIW, the subject site's methodology seems to have zero to do with popularity. It's all timing. They grabbed a raft of new stories that posted on Lit in April, then skipped stories posted in May and June then came back for July and August.

I'm even less popular than you are, going by Followers, and my 'most popular' story (published in June) isn't on there, but my story posted in August (moderately popular) is there.

And, my penname can be found on a number of, um, sites that I'll wait until I have a bullet-proof protected system to visit :D

It's picking up all of my stories. I have quite a bit of difficulty googling it up, though. It's hard to think that it gets much traffic.

Someone's putting a lot of effort into a site that probably isn't generating much income. That's the case with most of the sites I've seen rip of my stories, and that's probably why those sites go away.

All they'd need to do to satisfy me is to give proper credit. I'm putting these stories on free-use sites myself. They already have been through the marketplace a few years ago.

The LZErotica site is an advert for LZDevs. That'll be how it's monetised. I doubt it requires much effort or adds to their variable costs.

The stories have no author names/handles, there are no comments (nor any way to post one), no forum, no profiles, or any of the other aspects of a true literature site.

The comment function doesn't even seem to have been set up.

No, but LZ offer all these facilities if you follow the link to see who creates it. Some may find their offering aesthetically more appealing than sites they are familiar with which offer these facilities. An advert.

There's been a few sites like that. They do a wholesale scrape of Lit and use it to demonstrate their web design capabilities.

A recent one based in Indonesia comes to mind.

I ran searches on titles, titles with my penname, text from inside the stories, and found my work there. But click on the link and it takes you to a page of listings but not the stories I searched on, but pages either direction from where I landed where the tale might be located. I hadn't the time or inclination to find out. If they rip off the story, the least they can do is give the writer copyright holder credit.

If its gone, so be it. I'm reminded of a LGBT site that steals my work, when I contacted the sight owner, he wrote back, "I give you credit, it was a free site, so if you don't want it here, sue me."

Lucky for him, I wasn't my father, he'd have done just that to prove a point.

It sucks, but really it's no different than when people repost porn pics on pafegami or twitter. I've also ran across sites that have my stories, or a fraction of a post with my screen name, like the ones that seem to collect internet scrap and keywords. I ran across one that had half of a post I made on StangNet years ago in a swath of diatribe.

I think either the site is gone, or I just can't find it.

As long as the story isn't for sale I'm not all that pissed for the repost. I do still want the credit though, I'm a mean bitch that way. LOL

It's going to happen. If you post anything digital, it is going to happen.

When my son was a late teens and his peers were all sending and posting pics we'd say, "Never forget, digital is forever." I think he heard us and never did.

Digital is forever. You post your work on here for free and anyone can grab it. It's part of the deal living in the digital world.

There is virtually no recourse. What are you going to do? Sue? Most are in a country that is not yours and you don't have the pocketbook anyway.

Me? I never put anything on here that I want to protect. Can't be done.

I mean, hell folks, the major records labels couldn't stop it.

Copyright in the digital age is a challenging thing as we've been discussing for sometime and will continue to since it is such a challenge.

They do seem to be gone. To me, it looked like they stole not only the story, but all the search words, and only edited out the author's names from the theft of the Literotica postings. the manner they used, I'm sure, violated Literotica's copyright as well as our copyrights. I mean while we do publish them for free and grant license for lit to publish the stories, their still our stories and the postings here belong to Lit as well.

I googled my username and found that mouthporn.net has posted a lot of my stories.

I'm impressed that someone thought that they were worthy. However before I could look any closer my virus software kicked me off the site.

I was thus unimpressed.

Yeah, my first stolen story. (At least that I know of) littlesally666.com stole Evil and gave me author credit but the fuckers truncated the story and ended it in a stupid place. I'm insulted!

The other thing that amazed me was the number of user names gordo12 that surfaced when I googled. The @die_gordo12 did set me back a bit... ;)

I'm getting a no server at LZErotica. Somebody must be monitoring the board here. Unless it's just me!

Edit: I see it disappeared days ago. Should have read further.
