Want-By Disturbed

Your mind wont let you say that you want me
Your mind wont ever, never let you say what you want
You howl and wail like a banshee
Still your mind won't ever let you say
Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Your mind won't ever,
Never let you say what you want
My little tired devotee

Your mind won't even let you feel

Quivering now, shivering now, withering
Your mind won't let you say that you're
Wondering now, pondering now, hungering
Won't let you say that you're
Questioning, wavering, weakening
You mind wont let you say that you're
Hearkening, listening, heeding me now
Won't let you say that you want

Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Your mind wont ever, never let you have what you want
I feel your hunger to taste me
Still your mind won't ever let you say
Your kind is just the type that should use me
But your mind won't seem to let you have
The opportunity to abuse me
Your mind won't even let you feel

Savor the addiction, savor the affliction
Savor me
Savor her mind
You mind wont let you say that you want me

Hi Amber,

This is Mike, finally got myself registered so I don't have to use Jay's account. Jay has this above the fireplace mantel and he and I have talked about it endlessly. It's an old Cavalrymen's poem that they were all forced to memorize and live by when he was in the Cavalry in the Army. He treasured it more than life itself so I wanted to post it here for you.

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.

Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers' Green.

Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he's emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers' Green.

And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to Fiddlers' Green.
Origin and Author Unknown - Believed to originate in the 1800's - First known published form in a 1923 Cavalry Journal

No word yet, will post when I hear. I am using the laptop down in the family room while waiting with his friends and family.

Since my thoughts are with him....

"Devil Inside"
INXS

Here comes the woman
With the look in her eye
Raised on leather
With flesh on her mind
Words as weapons sharper than knives
Makes you wonder how the other half die
Other half die

Here come the man
With the look in his eye
Fed on nothing
But full of pride
Look at them go
Look at them kick
Makes you wonder how the other half live

The devil inside
The devil inside
Every single one of us the devil inside

The devil inside
The devil inside
Every single one of us the devil inside

Here come the world
With the look in its eye
Future uncertain but certainly slight
Look at the faces
Listen to the bells
It's hard to believe we need a place called hell

As the tears slide down my cheeks, I want to thank you so much for sharing that with us all.

Well, officially...welcome to Lit, Michael *smiles* feel free to post here anytime

Good song Fiesty sis

*hugs SC* hi sis

Great thread Amber!

This song affects me to the core of my very being...it speaks a lot about me in relationships...

Anna Begins by Counting Crows

My friend assures me, 'Its all or nothing."
I am not worried I am not overly concerned
My friend implores me, "For one time only,
make an exception." I am not worried
Wrap her up in a package of lies
Send her off to a coconut island
I am not worried I am not overly concerned
with the status of my emotions
"Oh," she says, "you're changing."
But we're always changing

It does not bother me to say this isnt love
Because if you dont want to talk about it then it isnt love
And I guess Im going to have to live with that
But Im sure there's
something in the shade
of grey
Something in between,
And I can always
change my name
If thats what you
mean

My friend assures me, "It's all or nothing."
But I am not really worried
I am not overly concerned
You try to tell yourself the things you try to tell
yourself
To make yourself forget
I am not worried
"If its love," she said, "then we're going to have to deal with the consequences."
She can't stop shaking
I can't stop touching her and.....

This time when kindness falls like rain
It washes her away and Anna begins to change her mind
"These seconds when I'm shaking leave me shuddering
for days," she says
And Im not ready for this sorta thing

But Im not going to break
And Im not going to worry about it anymore
Im not going to bend, and Im not going to break and
Im not going to worry about it anymore
It seems like I should say, "As long as this is love....."
But its not all that easy so maybe I should
Snap her up in a butterfly net
Pin her down on a photograph album
I am not worried
I've done this sort of thing before
But then I start to think about the consequences
Because I don't get no sleep in a quiet room and...

This time when kindness falls like rain
It washes me away and
Anna begins to change my mind
And everytime she sneezes
I believes its love and
Oh lord, Im not ready
for this sort of thing

She's talking in her sleep
Its keeping me awake and Anna begins to toss and turn
And every word is nonsense and I understand and
Oh lord, Im not ready for this sorta thing

Her kindness bangs a gong
Its moving me along and Anna begins to fade away
Its chasing me away She disappears and
Oh lord, Im not ready for this sorta thing

Hi Amber,

Thanks for the welcome and for pointing out my error earlier. By the way, "for the record", I did enjoy the very quick talk on yahoo. And yes, I did like you.

You're welcome Michael, just didn't want to get people confused on who was talking. And I am glad you liked me..I thought you were scared of me!

Well, maybe a bit intimidated, cause frankly, your stunning. I got to agree with Jay and that one (we tend to have different taste in women).

And I am not sure of all the words but the song I would go with right now would be this:

Everybody Hurts ----- REM

I am a big REM fan and this one just fits

Here are the words Mike
Artist: R.E.M
Title: Everybody Hurts

When your day is long
And the night
The night is yours alone
When you're sure
You've had
Enough of this life
Well hang on
Don't let yourself go
'Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts
Sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong
Now it's time to sing along
(When your day
Is night alone)
Hold on, hold on
(If you feel like letting go)
Hold on
If you think you've had
Too much of this life
Well hang on

'Cause everybody hurts
Take comfort
In your friends
Everybody hurts

Don't throw your hand
Oh, no
Don't throw your hand
When you feel
Like you're alone
No, no, no
You're not alone

If you're on your own
In this life
The days and
Nights are long
When you think
You've had too much
Of this life
To hang on

Well, everybody hurts
Sometimes
Everybody cries
And everybody hurts
Sometimes

And everybody hurts
Sometimes

So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
(Everybody hurts
You are not alone)
(Fades)

That is gonna help it not be so quiet around here. Granted the house is full of 5 very big guys Jay knew in the Army (And jesus, do you have any idea how big these guys are?) but it is still gonna be quiet while he's gone.

Thank you Michael, sweet of you to say..I love a song by REM look below

This is definately on my list of top 10 songs that if a man sang about me I would MELT.

Song: Your are my Everything
Band: REM

Sometimes I feel like I can’t even sing (say, say, the light)
I’m very scared for this world
I’m very scared for me
Eviscerate your memory
Here’s a scene
You’re in the back seat laying down
The windows wrap around
To sound of the travel and the engine
All you hear is time stand still in travel
and feel such peace and absolute
The stillness still that doesn’t end
But slowly drifts into sleep
The stars are the greatest thing you’ve ever seen
And they’re there for you
For you alone you are the everything

I think about this world a lot and I cry
And I’ve seen the films and the eyes
But I’m in this kitchen
Everything is beautiful
And she is so beautiful
She is so young and old
I look at her and I see the beauty
Of the light of music
The voices talking somewhere in the house
Late spring and you’re drifting off to sleep
With your teeth in your mouth
You are here with me
You are here with me
You have been here and you are everything

Another great one is REM's "Drive", that whole angry youth thing of the 80's and early 90's.

REM always wrote for the people who listened to there music, that was what make them amazing.

Since I just got back from The Who concert--this is an old fave of mine that they did tonight! I feel like what this song describes from time to time.

Love Reign O'er Me

(Pete's theme) Only love
Can make it rain
The way the beach is kissed by the sea.
Only love
Can make it rain
Like the sweat of lovers'
Laying in the fields.

Love, Reign o'er me.
Love, Reign o'er me, rain on me.

Only love
Can bring the rain
That makes you yearn to the sky.
Only love
Can bring the rain
That falls like tears from on high.

Love Reign O'er me.

On the dry and dusty road
The nights we spend apart alone
I need to get back home to cool cool rain.
The nights are hot and black as ink
I can't sleep and I lay and I think
Oh God, I need a drink of cool cool rain.

One of my favorite songs

This is Depeche Mode

But Not Tonight

Oh God it's raining
But I'm not complaining
It's filling me up with new life
The stars in the sky
Bring tears to my eyes
They're lighting my way tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

Just for a day
On a day like today
I'll get away from this constant debauchery
The wind in my hair
Makes me so aware
How good it is to live tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

The moon
Is shining in the sky
Reminding me
Of so many other nights
But they're not like tonight

Oh God it's raining
And I'm not containing
My pleasure at being so wet
Here on my own
All on my own
How good it feels to be alone tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

The moon
Is shining in the sky
Reminding me
Of so many other nights
When my eyes had been so red
I'd been mistaken for dead
But not tonight

And another DM song (*is diehard 80s music*)

Dangerous

The things you do
Aren't good for my health
The moves you make
You make for yourself
The means you use
Aren't meant to confuse
Although they do
They're the ones that I would choose

And I wouldn't want it any other way
You wouldn't let me anyway

Dangerous
The way you leave me wanting more
Dangerous
That's what I want you for
Dangerous
When I am in your arms
Dangerous
Know I will come to harm

The lies you tell
Aren't meant to deceive
They're not there
For me to believe
I've heard
Your vicious words
You know by now
It takes a lot to see me hurt

And I couldn't take it any other way
But there's a price I have to pay

Drive by Incubus

Sometimes, I feel the fear of
uncertainity stinging clear
And I can't help but ask
myself how much I'll let the
fear take the wheel
and steer.
Its diven me before, and it seems to
have a vague, haunting mass appeal.
But lately I am beginning to find that
I should be the one behind the wheel.
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
with open arms and open eyes.
So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?
It's driven me before and it seems to be the way
that everyone else gets around.
But lately I am beginning to find that
when I drive myself
my light is found.

So whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes.

Would you kill the Queen
to crush the hive?
Would you choose
water over wine....
or hold the wheel
and drive?

Yaz (aka Yazoo)

Nobody's Diary

if i wait for just a second more,
i know i'll forget what i came here for,
my head was so full of things to say,
but as i open my lips all my words slip away
and anyway,
i can't believe you want to turn the page,
and move your life onto another stage,
you can change the chapter you can change the book,
but the story remains the same if you'd take a look.

(chorus)
for the times we've had i don't want to be - a page in your diary babe, for the good, the bad i don't want to see - a page in your diary babe,
for the happy, the sad - i don't want to be another page in your diary.

perhaps if i held you i could win again,
i could take your hands we'd talk and maybe then -
that look in your eyes i always recognise,
would tell me everything is gonna be fine,
you're gonna be mine
for a long time...

(repeat above chorus)

This just came on the radio..

I thought it quite appropriate for those of us here on the Playground.

We Are Family
Sister Sledge

(CHORUS)
We are family
I got all my sisters/brothers with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose

We are family
I got all my sisters/brothers with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

We are family
I got all my sisters/brothers with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

(chorus to fade)

This song by the Commodores still gets me almost uncontrollably moving and get the urge to dance.

"Brick House" - The Commodores

Chorus:
She's a brick----house
Mighty might just lettin' it all hang out
She's a brick----house
The lady's stacked and that's a fact,
ain't holding nothing back.

She's a brick----house
She's the one, the only one,
who's built like a amazon [pronounced am-a-ka-zawn]
We're together everybody knows,
and here's how the story goes.

She knows she got everything
a woman needs to get a man, yeah.
How can she use, the things she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand!

Chorus

The clothes she wears, the sexy ways,
make an old man wish for younger days
She knows she's built and knows how to please
Sure enough to knock a man to his knees

Shake it down, shake it down now (repeat)
