Lyrical or text assistance...

I absolutely LOVE that Tori Amos song; I used to have a copy of it on CD somewhere, but I'm not certain now where that disc is. :( I don't even remember what disc it was *on*.

I will search for those Seether lyrics right now, Leeroy. :) I'd not really had the time to do so before now; I worked late Fri and Sat, and was too tired to do more than check email and peek my head in here briefly.

*wanders off to check lyrics*

The computer is my connection to the outside so I have been on all but like 2 hours since I got up, and I would have gladly done that for you if you just would have asked.

It's okay. :) I don't mind, really. 'Cos once I do, I get started on tangents, and usually wind up finding what I'm looking for.

For example: "Hello", by Evanescence. One of my favorites, but I wouldn't have thought of it by myself. I had to find it and read the words out, and picture the images I think I have on film and imagine if they'll fit or not...

playground school bell rings again
rain clouds come to play again
has no one told you she's not breathing?
hello i'm your mind giving you someone to talk to
hello

if i smile and don't believe
soon i know i'll wake from this dream
don't try to fix me i'm not broken
hello i'm the lie living for you so you can hide
don't cry

suddenly i know i'm not sleeping
hello i'm still here
all that's left of yesterday

I'm still on my search-tangent. :) I'll post more if I find them!

You wicked wicked girl I love that song its better then MY Immortal too. not for the song your looking for but K's choice Not an Addict and Wait and Dad love them

I admit I was trying to steer away from the Evanescence, it's awfully cliche'd for what I'm trying to do, but it -fits-. And since it's -my- story I'm telling, I figured I ought to try using a song I really like, so long as it's got lines that fit the images.

We'll see. I'm not making any decisions until tomorrow, or later. I need to develop the roll and make a contact sheet first, and see what I have, before I make any final decisions. Depends on how much lab time they give me tomorrow night. :)

I think I'm still leaning towards the Evanescence, though I'm not 100% certain. I developed my film tonight and made my contact sheet, so I've got little thumbnail size versions to look at. I'll need to finalize whatever text I'm using once I've started actually printing full-size images, because I can't be certain that they'll go.

I also haven't fully decided quite what I'm doing TO the images yet -- cutting, burning, scratching, painting, doing weird cropping -- so I don't want to commit to a set of lyrics that aren't gonna work out. I need to see more of what it'll look like all together.

What do you wanta be when you grow up if I may ask??

Prolly either a photographer or a translator -- I'm DYING to learn Japanese.

What I *want* to be is a professional musician. But that ain't gonna happen.

Why not, and if you want to be a transaltor how many years will that take to learn Japanese, I have heard, because of reading about video games, that there are alot of subtext that goes into the language.

A fun fact for you as an Amy Lee fan, you know where she started from right??

Not a clue; I generally don't get too much into the actual people's in a group. I consider myself lucky if I know WHO is in a group. Most of the time I just don't really bother with those details. Music is music; who makes it is irrelevant.

There is a very great deal of difference in learning Japanese, but I don't think there is any more innuendo or subtext than there is in English. English is one of the hardest languages to learn. And I don't know how long it'll take to learn it. :) I hope to start a class in the fall; we'll see if I catch on to it or if I fail miserably like I did in spanish class in high school.

And I'll never wind up as a musician because to graduate with a music major, one is usually required to pass several levels of music theory and quite possibly ear training to go with it. I suck donkey ass at both. Which really blows. I've got a fairly decent natural talent with music; but fact is, I don't understand nor do I give a shit about theory. I want to play. I don't really care if something is a major third or whateverelsethefuckitis.

So, I'll never really manage that one. Oh, and the fact that for everything else I can do -well-, I never *could* manage to memorize all my scales. Nobody made me learn 'em in high school, so by the time I got to college it was kind of like having continually bad spelling. It just stuck with me. My private lesson instructor gave up on me, literally, and told me that I sucked. That was 7 years ago; finished out the semester without ever going back to see her and haven't played since. *shrug*

Oooh, and I gotta go to bed. Didn't realize what time it was and I got work in the morning. *yawns* Didn't get enough sleep last night, either. *Zzzzzzzz*

how much do you love me??

So Miss Jade you really do not know who Amy Lee is?? You say that you like here music and even posted the words to her song Halo.

But that is not why I am posting I just stumbled onto a song that might fit what your looking for in my collection when I was looking for my Evenscence.

Toad the wet Sproket
Hold her down

Take her arms and hold her down...
until she stops kicking
take her arms and hold her down...
until she stops moving

and they don't know her
but what the fuck
they've got nothing else they can do
and they've no reason
but still they come
and i
would have a hard time facing you
this crime
the shame of what a man can do

take her arms and hold her down...
until she stops screaming
take her arms and hold her down...
until she stops breathing

and they don't know her
but what the fuck
they've got nothing else they can do
and they've no reason
but still they come
and i
would have a hard time facing you
this crime
the shame of what a man can do
i would've died
from all the hell that you've been through

take the night back
all they've stolen
all we took from you

I think the lyrics say it all, too bad it took me a few days to remember this song eh??

I didn't say I didn't know who she was. I'd recognise her picture if I saw it. I know her name.

I don't know where she was born, how old she is, or what her favorite food is. I don't know where she went to school, what she wanted to be when she was 6, or whether or not her parents raised her baptist, lutheran or buddhist.

I don't know those things because I don't really care. It doesn't affect whether or not I like her music. :) I listen to her music because I like how it sounds -- not because I like or dislike *her*.

And that's an awesome song, too.

Well I did not know who she was or where she came from until I got lucky and heard it on the tv or a darn dj said it. Normally I do not usually get into all of that but... When I see something I like I want more of it, this works well in movies. Love Simpson and Brekhimer,sp is wrong though, so when I see a movie put out by the latter, simpson died during or after The Rock, I watch it because I think he rocks as a producer.

That is neither here nor there though what did you think of the song?? Will it fit for what your looking for??

It's an awesome song. And if the images I'm working with had turned out differently -- as in, clearer and less grainy -- then it might have worked perfectly.

I think I'm rolling with the Evanescence, because the prints I'm making are both very grainy (sort of like pixels, but not quite the same) and extremely fuzzy in focus. (Deliberately, not badly done. :p) The overall effect of the series will be something like the flashes of things you see in movies, as flashback montages or bits of dreams.

I think the words to the Evanescence will fit well.

And? Are you gonna tell me about Ms. Lee or what? :p

The only thing I know about Amy Lee is that they got their start in Little Rock Ar. And that at one time not sure now she was dating the lead singer of Seether, hell I think on the bonus disc of the discalimer album he said he wrote that song with Amy in mind. Sad to hear you do not want to use that song from Toad.

Don't take it personally. :) It's not that I don't -want- to use it, it's that I don't think it will fit with the style of imagery I've got going.

Had I approached the project the way a girl in my class suggested, your Toad song probably would have been a better choice.

If I can find someone with a scanner, Leeroy, I'll be happy to post them. :)

I would hope the school would have one you could use. Like the title Burner helped me get the 100oth post what a sweetheart.
