Lynyrd Skynyrd

he he..Peter Frampton and the Doobie Brothers are playing Saturday night at an amusement park a couple of hours away from me on. Part of me wants to go so badly! The other part of me can't bear to see two acts that used to play stadiums now playing at a second-tier amusement park.

Yes, it's so sad. I remember seeing Peter Frampton in the baseball stadium here in town. EVERYTHING on stage was white...the instruments the clothes, etc.

To keep up with the history of things going on, Peter was most notably the guitarist of a band called Humble Pie. Ah, the good ol' days.

Another sad but true item...I heard the other day that Alice Cooper was playing at the Missouri State Fair this past Sunday. Now, if anybody has ever seen him live, I just can't picture him doing the same things at a State Fair. Maybe he left the snakes at home.

The James Gang founder and lead singer was Joe Walsh. He's most lately been a long standing member of The Eagles.

Buffalo Springfield was a band that eventually sprouted Steven Stills and Neil Young to be in Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

But, before the four of them got together, it was just Crosby, Stills and Nash. The most remembered group they all were members of, I'd say.

Graham Nash came from the Hollies...a 60s band some might remember. David Crosby was a founding member of The Byrds. Another great 60s group the kids will have never heard of.

EDITED to add...David Crosby also gave his sperm to father the children of Melissa Ethrich and Julie Cypher.

I had to Google to find the name of Ethrich's lover.

Another interesting tidbit of info. The group Crosby, Stills and Nash first played as a band at Woodstock.

For those who don't know, that was three days of music that came before any Lolapolusa (sp) type of thing of recent days.
Yea Joe Walsh. Thank you. Nice bit of history there, too. Good job.

You know Alice lives in Phoenix and does a late night radio show there. I listen to him when I'm in AZ. He's funny AND an avid golfer, too.

His night radio show is broadcast over many stations. He's called "the night guy" on the local station here, KYYS, like he's really in the local studio.

He's always talking about golf and past things of music history. I wish I could listen to him more.

We have Cooper on a station in Wichita as well, I have tried but just cannot connect with him in a way that draws me in to listen unless I stumble on his show.

And they play it late at night in Perth

And how many people know the names (one still pretty famous fella) of the members of Cream? ;-)

Oh nevermind... someone will google it. LOL

I saw Greg Lake a couple of years ago at the House of Blues. He's still real good.

HEY, I didn't google anything but Ethrich's spouse name. It's from my time, too. And, she wasn't looking for Baker or Bruce, as much as Clapton.

But, I'll give you THIS for knowing the whole band without googling. One of my all time favorites. Of course, you should hear it LIVE and while you're on drugs. LOL.

Hello Sir...no one was refering to you and if she was looking for Clapton only why did she say names ? Then again I was showing off. Perhaps I need a good spanking?

Oh and I have listened to the music from your time all of it and most of it while on drugs but never had the pleasure of a live King Crimson concert. *pout*
