Once again you draw me back to the mountain cabin.... and a rhyme I can't remember where I heard it or learned it from... and it's as if I can see what you bring to life with your words.... unfold before my eyes.

Red Sky at morning
Sailors take warning.
Red Sky at night
Sailors delight.

Rebuilding The Pillar

Sweat and blood
Mortar and mud
Th' pair starts to
Rebuild the tower.

Throughout the night
In hopes to see
A base by dawn's first light

Swiftly passed each hour by hour
As they built the tower
Each one's one thought,
"This matters much to me"

very moving Victoria... :rose: ...I am a bit suprised you don't write more...you are so insightful and kind with your words of encouragement to others...and your last line speaks volumes of the poet..."This matters much to me"...and to the inner heart so often unseen...

Good evening, don't feel like you have to comment, I just like to share my poetry :) Thank you again for the welcome and the very nice comments I have gotten, it is appreciated. You're all so kind!

Here is another to share -- I hope it doesn't offend:

The Waiting
by malcah_ms ©

Darkness surrounds her

flesh pulled tautly,

strapped firmly

trapping

her skin

molding it

to the cold steel table.

The window agape

permitting a penetrating sliver of light,

barely enough to make out

shapes in the soupy blackness.

Hint of a brisk breeze

forces her body to shiver,

sending icy chills

radiating from

her numb fingertips

to her curled toes.

she waits, spread

open

stretched wide,

the cool air

kissing her

moistened cunt.

She wriggles to test

the strength of her confinement,

the rigid steel wrist cuffs

digging

into her soft flesh.

She waits in murky

Isolation

In suspense for rescue

Ready for deliverance

Breathless for Him.

you are never offensive sweet one...your words are so vivid and the emotion so real...you are most certainly in touch with desire... :rose:

Before I set off on my tangent, GREAT read, malcah_ms!

WARNING: <ramble> I have read some really good things here, poets, but I wonder how (and even if) any of you read other poetry, or whether you have some fave poets? Of course, that leads to the question of "how" you read that poetry?

In the grander scheme of things, I don't believe poetry has to rhyme, but I do believe that there should be a sort of liquid flow for it to be a "good" (yes, in my opinion) poem.

I read all poetry out loud, without exception. For any of you who don't, try it. It's kind of wonderful to let the words roll around your tongue like a fine wine as you taste their bouquet. Then, when they finally slip out to swirl around you, it can be positively orgasmic.

Wordswords... *sigh* They should always move you -- whether in good or bad ways is not as important as that they make you feel something. </ramble>

I so agree with you Maid of Marvels...the anology of the poets words and the taste of fine wine is point on!...and like a fine wine those words age and grow with time...the meaning and essence changing and evolving...Wordswords...in the hands of one who has/have felt the power and been touched. Feeling again, or for the first time, but to expierence that which is inside us all...to feel is truely to be alive!...

Desperation

A desperation
An urgency
A need to be satisfied
Constantly searching

No peace till you are here
No calmness without your touch
No love felt until you kiss me
A love unbridled

My heart races
Like wild untamed horses
Running across the open plains of the west
Never reaching the end
Never wanting it to be over

When in your arms
I’m at peace
I sigh contently
Tired of running
Chasing that unseen dream

I’ve been running all my life
Seeking and searching
When all I had to do
Was turn to you…..

I love you M
:rose:

what beautiful words... :rose: ...your emotions are so clear and pure...the love you express and give to your words capture the world of a great love...Shadow you are gifted!...maybe it's genetic...

I do wish I could reply to all the beautiful works here...the talent and wealth of emotion so deep...I do hope you ALL know that your works are appreciated and do reach more than those of us who reply. In your words you allow people to touch and be touched and to feel that which may be missing or a very large part of your life... and who we are... as the sum of our parts is greater than we are alone... :rose:

Peace to you my friends...and happiness for all your days... :rose:

Just a short collection of words I wrote this morning...don't know if it is finished or just something I needed to put to paper and let go...

This guided vessel sinks when emotions run dry.
The scenery is radiant but the cup is overflowing.
Seeking emotions found impossible if dignity is apparent.
My eyes look toward the sky for inspiration, but turn to the sun for brilliance.
My pride blinds me and my dreams push me.
This battle, fought inside me everyday,
when all I need is in the eyes of another.

My sanctity is in the touch of a love unknown.
It is in grace, grasped tightly by a woman.
She holds my heart, my soul, my breath.
My heart sings, but there is no audience to embrace my song.
My fading love longs to be released, finding its way to the heart of the inspired.

Ahh ~ my dear MFM ~ Your words touch me deeply as does the sentiment behind them. Encouraging others to listen to their feelings and to write based on what they feel in and with their hearts and to write from that which they know is easy.

Someone very dear to me recently said, "You write what you feel... and you feel more then most." What they meant by that... I can only guess. I can't write when I don't feel or have the words. It is as if they have stilled inside me... and

For it is hard to write
When the inner heart
Remains unseen...

And is buried beneath
The Pillar of Trust
That is once more nothing but
A pile of rubble and dust

*Gently places the rose from her friend into the crystal vase that sits atop her desk, turns off her desk lamp, and turns toward the door*

Painted Mountain
.
Nature's sensational evening scenery,
Brings joy and tranquility,
The valley below extends far and wide,
And steep mountain ranges rise on all sides.
.
The twilight sky is painted lavishing hues,
In reds, pink and orange and streaked with gold,
Such a natural beauty reaching deep into my heart,
As my spirit soars into the heavens above the mountain peak.

Then I look down into the deep blue lake,
Distorted clouds and shadows starting to take shape,
I see the mountains green-brown hue reflect off,
The rippling blue waters,
Oh, how I long to walk there with you.

Wildflowers

Wandering through a meadow of wildflowers
My hands out from my sides
Gently brushing the flowers
I inhale their scent deeply

My head tilted back
The warm sun on my face
No worries, No pressures
Just to be...No need to hurry

No sound but that of nature
The birds chirping
And gracefully soaring
Floating on the light breeze
To and fro
Oh to be so free.. on Angel wings

How long has it been
It seems like an eternity
But it was only yesterday
Darkness seemed to follow me

But now I have a glowing ray of light
In my life
And what a light he is
For when I see him
I feel nothing but joy and happiness

{I love you M :rose::heart::kiss:}

I was swimming fine, but then I drown.
I was once King but lost my crown.
In a world of dreams I did not sleep.
Everyone ran, I seemed to creep.

But expectations soon took flight, when dinner for one became two that night.
We sat and talked for the longest while, what was a glass face cracked, to make a smile.

A heart was mending, Cupid's arrow was shot.
The love I gave, ten times back I got.
A hitchiker on a lost street, now so high he didn't need feet.

The joyride to heaven would soon come down, today's luckiest man is tomorrow's clown.
This night not repeated it would seem, but if I wanted to go back, I could now dream.

"To sleep... perchance to dream" ~ William Shakespeare

The rollercoaster ride called love. The wants... the dreams... the hopes... the aspirations... the being leery, almost afraid... the "taking of that risk". This work has it all... I love it! *kotc*

You're becoming more insightful MFM.... a side of you I like. :)

Good morning BB :) I do thank you for the :rose: s... and for the hugs, and for the soft kisses. And as for the AV... :) I decided a new one was needed.

Honeysuckle Forest
.
Lets walk through Honeysuckle forest.
Fragrant blossoms of sun blazoned
Honeysuckle aroma as it delicately tickles your nose.
.
Feel Summer’s breath of warm air,
frantically blowing through your long hair,
Feel the warmth of the sun,
Smiling upon your beautiful face.
.
Let the beauty of the forest’s nature,
Caress your shattered heart,
Let Honeysuckle tree’s aroma awaken your soul,
See through mother natures evergreen eyes,
Of innocence.
.
Let the sweet honeyed essence of the,
Honeysuckle blossoms transport
You to a place where your,
Imagination can flow freely,
As we walk down the Honeysuckle Forest path.

Thank you MFM  I have been on this road of writing seriously now for three years and I am hoping next year is my year for success. I have two CD's out now, I am in the making of my poetry CD to place on market. I love writing and since I am no longer able to do my first love of window cleaning because of my health, I can atleast continue life with another love. . . writing. :) I hope to still be here sharing with my friends here my adventure.

Her native blood bringing about the smoke like spirits.
Running free is the white wolf, a protector of the dream weavers,
He searches with his blue eyes every room.
Making certain that each dream catcher is over their beds,
Making sure to catch the evil dreams before they sneak into their heads.
Her long black hair shines brightly in the fires light,
Her white buck skin dress flows around her body.
The spirit embraces her maidens song,
Protecting her family from evil throughout the night.

Harley this is very touching and visual my sweet baby sister and I did edit some of the words like a protector and took the s off to make it flow as spirit embraces. So if you want to go back and fix it where you wrote it or perhaps Victoria will do it for you. This one we will add to the CD and I will play the flute in the background. :) I am proud of you.

I would love to hear the CD's you have out... and can't wait to hear the one on which you will include this new work of Harley's. Please contact me privately and let me know the titles I should look for.

I don't know the correct name? But I love the Spirit Flute... it's so haunting. Your request has been granted EW... and it was my pleasure to do your bidding. I just hope I did it right. ;)

Within the inspirations of gods' love,
abound to the burdens and turbulant embraces of life.
If someone causes you grief,
or complicates your life,
forgive them at your sake of happiness price.
Because when push comes to shove love is the only arbitrary.
Love is the only human resourse that actually saves.
So if someone strikes you,
don't attempt to strike back,
instead take to heart that you
will walk away with serenity in your heart even if they cause you mistaken pain.
If it was only possible to never cause anyone grief in life it would be nice.
But then there'd be so little victors just cowards with no compromise.

Remain alone, aloof,
In a world reserved
For dreamers –
Be idealistic, romantic
Maintain thoughts,
Motivations of love, honor,
And kindness towards all

Come above the petty,
Infantile squabbling –
The envy – an individual
Has to do this to live

To allow the jealousy
Of others, the misinterpretations
Of another to mar all that you
Hold to be truth is to fail in your
Quest for life as God intended

Escape through
Ideas, thoughts, higher aspirations
To fly to a better place
Into solitude
By the sea, at the mountains,
In the lush green of forests
Here to think of what is real.
