Are you shy in real life or just on here?

Do you find Lit to be a friendly place or rather intimidating?

*Hard to say intimidating with a straight face:D*

What brings you to the boards?

Post here and tell me. I won't bite...at least I won't leave marks;)

I am not a newbie, though at times I feel like it. This place can be a bit intimidating. I am not a shy person at all. But this is... well it's a bit similiar to highschool. It is rather cliquish(ms?) I am here everyday almost..well lately. I have been here over a year and well, I don't know anyone all that well.

Not that, that's anyone's fault but my own. It can seem like the people here like to stick to there own groups and at times, it seems as if they ignore others.

Some people seem a little...catty. I am talking about the whole thing with being registered or not being registered... and of course there have been other outbursts of...un-niceness.

Sometimes I feel like replying to a thread but then I feel as I might be intruding... I am just being honest.

I don't mean to be insulting at all. I find everyone here to be quite entertaining for the most part. I love Lit and will continue to come regardless if I was Ms. Popularity or standing in the shadows.

As a shy Newbie I find Lit very intimidating:(

But go for it anyway and then people are generally nice:)

The outbreaks of bitchiness and catfighting can be off-putting and just like r/l you'll find that like minded people tend to congregate with each other and will tend to respond to you if your ideas match with theirs.

Sympathise 100% about the comment about intruding on threads some seem like mutual admiration societies, off topic (sometimes an interesting one), and it puts you off posting.

I mostly agree with Kasha

Being a newbie and a bit shy,i do find it somewhat intimidating at times.I've also seen some threads that i would have thrown in my 2 cents but had the feeling i'd be intrudeing for some reason.
Seeing some of the bickering is a turn off but i just skip over the threads that contain that.
It does seem kinda "clicquish" then again i only know a few people here and the ones i have talked to have been very nice to me.

What brought me here? The Stories at first, then the topics on the boards.I find most of the topics interesting and imformative.
It's refreshing to see alot of open minded people with the same views as my own, and i'll continue to hang around this place.

I still enjoy it,even if i lurk most of the time :D

I felt exactly the same way when I began posting. But I decided to join in the fun. If I'm ignored by some of the "cliques", there's nothing to lose! I share my posts with the man I love, and since we're not physicallly together, it's another way of communicating with him, and hitting on topics we might not ordinarily touch upon.

I enjoy most everyone that posts, and certainly get a kick out of the humor that flows through. I have also learned a lot about serious topics, and it has helped me to strengthen my correspondence skills (although I still want to work on my spelling!).

Since I had started in LIT at the chat area late September, I'm enjoying seeing a lot more of my "tub buddies" posting here, and have become very familiar with a lot of the seasoned veterans as well.

Keep lurking, continue posting and I'm sure you'll find the area of "acceptance" widening for you as time moves on.

(Geezz... looking at the my number of posts per day ratio!! Heck, I'll be getting a real life soon!) :D

Not TOO new

I mostly hang out in the Amateur Pics forum, and I wasn't too sure what to expect when I first got here. I'm one of those people that never noticed that there ARE bbs here because I just came for the stories.

I was pretty happy with the welcome that I received, although, as with any place, people are people so you do get people posting when they're not in a good mood or having a bad day, or you get personalities that clash.

For me, it's just a way to help my work day go faster so if there was ever a conflict, I'd quietly bow out or walk away, unless it was something I strongly believed in or if I was defending someone else.

Just my 2 cents.

Hello Juicy daaahling!

YOU bring me to the boards day after day :D

Big kisses, Foxy, my love:heart:

We don't have to worry about YOU being shy or lurking, do we;)

Start those threads, girl. Use that wit!!! You are so funny. We need more of that on the board:)

I'm pretty new to it - still a wretched virgin - but I kind of like it. There seems to be a way of talking it's nice to try to pick up on - a quick flirty funny tone that says good things lightly. A few of the threads seem pretty vacant - just exchanges of nothing much between familiars - but most of them are interesting. And people have been welcoming, which I appreciate.

So -still feeling my way, so to speak.

I joined the board last month,And Im still learning my way around and getting to know some of the personalities by reading posts. At times I find it a bit intimidating as many of you have bee at it awhile. But I like the name juicylips!

Ya know...

I admit it. I am a lurker and a newbie.

Ignore the post total, just a mix up with someone elses post count.

I wish someone had welcomed me like this. I might have had more posts by now.

I think all places have "cliques." When I am talked around,it pisses me off,but I go on and post elsewhere.

Something like that should never stop you from answering. Keep posting,I read all the posts that answer after my post. I am nosy that way. ;)

I am generally not shy in the online environment, but this board has been a little intimidating at times. But I continue to post, and cross my paws each time I hit the "submit reply" button, hoping that I don't tick anyone off....

Oh, yea...

I forgot to warn you newbies about LTR...

She's a real bitch and often hijacks your thread with another poster called Tiger. They have wild animal sex and they won't share. At all!!! MEAN MEAN Lit members.

:D:D:D

What? Who? Me?

Do that?

Wow! BIG topic

First of all, i'm not shy. Or opinionated... No, Really, Jimi?

Secondly - "Cliques, what cliques?" Hell, if they get to be a problem, reasonable folks will start their own!

Finally, as I have just said in another thread, most of you have been very welcoming... the PM count being what it's been!:p

But, if anyone disagrees w/ my style - please don't hesitate to "call" me on it.

Like Jenny - I'm here to learn too! Dialogue is the essence of learning, for this "old guy" :D

There's not much evidence that I am shy.

When is a lit poster no longer a newbie?

Compared to the length of time I've spent at another site (I'm something of a fixture) I'm very new here - yet I'm far from new to the net and such online forums, so the cliques and bickering and outright attacks are not news to me.

Still, there are those who lurked the boards here, and likely have seen a lot more local coming and going - likely know more of the history of the place for what that's worth.

So, when is a lit poster no longer a newbie?

I mean, my post total isn't even as big as lovetoread's is, ya know?

I'm quick to hop into threads intent on welcoming newere newbies, I just think that's the right thing to do when you're around. Is it about how you present yourself? Was I a newbie when I had one post? Absolutely. I had not engaged in any give-and-take with anybody else here...

I seldom initiate serious threads, though I do every so often get drawn into a deeper-than-average discussion (even sometimes a meta-discussion.)

Is being a newbie a function of how much you reveal to others?

And cass, while I am all for biting, marks that last a week are bound to make the more recent arrivals think twice...

For me, this just isn't a primary stop on my internet cruising adventures. But let's face it, sex has got to be one of the most interesting topics. Different reactions and opinions are fun to read. But most of the time, I just don't see any reason for me to post or reply. I will come through here, read the topics titles, see who started them, if something stands out, then I'll read through them. If I feel that there's something I can add or something that was left unsaid, then I'll add it. There's certain posters/thread starters that I find to be more interesting, and I like to read what it is they had to say. But I'm not one to post just to post.

I'm not shy at all, but often times I like to sit in the back and watch everybody and how they react. Throw in a word or two.

I'm still a virgin? Seems like I've been a virgin forever, maybe I should post more.

And I like a little biting by the way.
