Research on moon's effect could illuminate behavior
Annette Delavallade

People affected by the Lunar Syndrome do not usually realize what their problem is.

Ask the person why they chose to react with a particular action. When asked this question, many people actually admit that they react differently to stress when the moon is full.

Understand that both men and women may be affected by Lunar Syndrome. One male respondent suggested that the moon cycle causes some men to react emotionally at work when they usually take a more straightforward approach.

Pay attention to the next full moon. If customers or employees do indeed seem to behave differently, accept the behavior as a slight variation, and be tolerant. They may not know why they behave as they do.

Don't take it personally if customers or employees become agitated, aggressive or emotional during this time. Usually, they are not aware that the moon might affect them.

Treat people who exhibit such behaviors with respect and, by all means, do not laugh at them.

Lunar Syndrome is an uncharted minor workplace issue waiting to be explored. In the meantime, effective managers should be aware of the possible effects of the phenomenon.

Anybody that works with the public, especially bartenders or cabdrivers will tell you that they learn to dread full moons. I used to hate it when they came - for about 3 days before too. People just get weird - ruder, more unpredictable, more aggressive, louder, more emotional. Blech!

Full moon is this Wednesday....has anyone stopped taking HiS meds???

What did I miss?

Oh, nothing.

Ish was reading out loud to us by the fire at MysteryFerret Theatre.

He loves to read.

He's quite commanding, dominant really, with a tail.

Tale.

I know that working in a hospital, the staff in the Emergency Room hate full moons. Not only does it bring out the wingnuts in herds, it also seems to create bigger accidents.

Also, I know that women who work or live together end up cycling together. I wonder if many of the women who post here end up PMSing at the same time through virtual cohabitation?
