Lower scoring than average

I would appreciate some feedback for 'Handpicked', (Link in Sig line).

It has a significantly lower score than average so some feedback, away from its category, Loving Wives, would be appreciated.

I always find it very unfair that a story as well-written as yours doesn't get a higher vote.

I voted a 5 because the standard of the writing alone merited that. Like some of the other readers, within the first few paragraphs I knew that the woman was his wife, but that didn't take any of the enjoyment away from the story.

It was the way you wrote that I was impressed with - the combination of arousing sex scenes and good writing should guarantee a good score, but sadly, the readers in Loving Wives don't often see it like that.

I will go read more of your work.

score is about something else

I'd say the scoring is often about something entirely other than writing. In the stories section, it's about whether or not the story aroused the reader as the reader had expected it to, which is fair enough I suppose except that it does nothing to encourage innovation in writing. I think this because my best written story here is scored a full point less than one I wrote in the submission box. BUT I expected it to not score so well because it was a tender story in the interracial section (and people tend to expect racist stereotypes there).

Keep the faith and don't let the score bother you: people have their own agendas here and they rarely coincide with recognizing actual talent.

I enjoyed the story. A few minor typos, but I thought it was very well done. Certainly above average.

This happens a lot for several reasons. I had one story what was totally trashed because it was short. The trolls didn't have time to get in a good wank, I think. Hell. A story is as long as a story is. Screw um.

More often it's either the trolls at work trashing stories or the catagorie the story is in. Loving wives is not a catagory that is as bad for trolls as, say, non-consent, but there are a few.

Another thing that my have happened, if the story did well right at the start and got an immediate "H" the trolls love to trash those stories.

Your story isn't as bad as the score indicates. I think of it this way - it all levels out over time. Eventually the trolls forget about your story and leave it alone. If it's a good story people will continue to read it for weeks. My first "H" didn't arrive until the story had been out for 4 months. Now, 4 years later it's sitting at 4.69. Who really knows (?)

I only started to read it, but my ride got here and I didn't finish yet. I will finish it up tonite and let you what I thought. I agree that most stories get low scores regardless of the writing. It sucks to be us.

I finished your story and voted too. It wasn't the usual "loving wives" tale and maybe that's why the voting was so low. It seemed more public exhibition than anything but still enjoyable and a good read. I guess certain categories have their demographic and they are set in their ways of what they want to read about and tug pole to. I have one of my better works in the "EC" and the voting was abyssmal, but it makes me write more fluidly and precise with my next stories.
