Ain't it grand?

We invented sex, you know.

Well, we invented the internet, so as good as. ;)

Seriously (yeah, right! HA!), has this thing we all converse on changed/enhanced/degraded, even, our sexual practices and morality?

I think not, cos you only have to read Caligula to realise that, but I thought it might make an interesting topic.

Or not.

Wanna shag?

:cathappy:

That's shag pile and believe me, it's more trouble than it's worth.
But I'd be willing to pile onto the carpet with Lou.

And you should bring your kneepads!

Remind me, what sound does shit make when it squeals?

As for the cat, don't tell Jeff. Wouldn't want him getting excited with his pecil again.

And, no, love. Not when I'm in this mood. :catroar:

BAH!

Doesn't anyone want a serious conversation about perverted perviness?

Let's talk about sex, baby...

Ok, so nothing new there, but come on, have things changed? I, personally, think that more opportunities have opened up for all. Take that anyway which way you like. :cathappy:

I think the opportunity for gays & lesbians opened up significantly with the internet. I think too, for people who have a fetish, beit fairly mild or something like the guy who wnats to do it in a hearse and beyond.

It has the anonimity of a persnal ad, with the ability to "meet" and socialize with people to the point you feel you know them. So if you are a woman who has a hankering, you can get close enugh to someone you know shares your inclination, you can get to know her well enough so meeting can be a friends thing, and if it developes further, great, ig not, you got to meet a freind of at least decently long standing in person.

Same with guys, Subs/doms, people with a long standing fetish, etc.

Thank you, beautiful.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking, too. Very true what you said, I must add. ;)

Gotta add this: here's where someone weighs in with the "dangers of the internet". Perfectly right to, but not nearly as prevalent as some might suggest. Stay sensible and stay safe, that's what I say!

I've had nothing but brilliant experiences, but maybe I'm lucky. No I'm not, I'm Lou!!! :D ;)

Those you have had experiences with are the lucky ones :)

I think you 'nailed' it when you mentioned Caligula. In just about every aspect of social life, the same questions were asked and pondered by the ancient Romans and/or Greeks. Hedonism has a much 'deeper' foundation than people might think as a philosophy of life as anyone who has read a little philosophy of the ancients knows.
So I think the internet simply merges smaller communities into one and therefore widens the scope of interest for individuals. This creates an eclectic result where individuals embark upon a much greater degree of discovery than before but what they discover is likely not new in concept even though through technology we have been able to realize a few things only imagined before.

My life would be much lonelier without the internet.

It makes it very easy for a weirdo like me to meet compatible people.

No sex yet. But that ain't for lack of trying.

It's not that we are more "hedonistic" or "perverse" or "lack morals", it's that the shit people bottled up or hid in their homes and behind masks of Mr. Moral Man is visible on the net. The internet allows people to express themselves without betraying their "front" and also gives people a greater access to information. This information is like all information: good and bad. It also allows greater contact with people outside one's geographic community and without all the self-deluding bullshit of life. This is also both good and bad.

I think the moral line stems from the weakness of the human mind which believes that the image of an age matters more than the age itself. The young in truth are less perverse than the 1950s or the 1900s or god forbid back in the middle ages. Sex has become less and less about violence and sin and more and more about genuine love and a desire to make someone else feel good. However, people see only people talking more about sex and regarding it frankly, understanding "deviant" sexual practices (if such a thing can exist), and the like and thus judge that we have lost our morals, but in truth we have merely become mature and honest about sex. We aren't even engaging in as much "hedonism" than we did in say the 50s, but since we used to hide those behaviors from the world back then and we pretended to have morality under fading doll faces, we think we are.

It's the illusion of saturation. Because we have access to the truth behind the mask of morality that so many wear. Since we can peek with some clicks at the real world many visit, we think that something has changed in the world at large instead of something minor. In truth, we have merely created a world where the honest face of humanity can show. Perverse, scheming, information mad, and lonely.

The internet is our looking glass darkly. Nothing has changed in morals only in the sizes of our relative worlds and our honesty.

It is almost impossible to have a serious conversation about pervertedness when Lou asks me if I wanna shag.

I'm off to take a cold shower.

Raphy you old dog!

How you hanging? Trust life remains bliss with the delicious Whisper.

I'd be screwed (or not, as they case may be!) without the internet, because I live in the sticks and my only contact with the lesbian world is online - with the exception of a few phone calls... to people I met online.

I don't think it's particularly changed my morality - I was born a minx. But it's opened my eyes to a lot of things, and my life would be very different from the way it is today without the internet.

The internet shalt let you free your mind.

But the search for freedom of mind remains your own.

If we accept the very reasonable preposition that humans are social animals and that happiness is possible only through society then we must accept that the internet has allowed many more unusual societies to flourish, societies which allow the individual greater choice in the matter of their pursuits while at the same time granting them the happiness that comes from company.

Where else would I have found a wonderful, deviant bunch like you? Lng live the 21st C!

Are you sure you're only lesbian? No bi tendencies whatsoever? Hmm?

Apologies for the threadjack, but scheherazade, I gotta say ..

As a Welshman* who lived in the 'nam - That's Cheltenham, not Vietnam (although a case could be made for that, too).. I gotta say that there's nothing wrong with Cheltenham ladies. Especially the ones who go to the girl's college...

* I was gonna say ex-Welshman, but then I realised that once you've watched Wales kick the shit out of the English in the 6-nations and stood and sung the National Anthem at the Arms Park, you can never ever turn your back on Wales.
