Lover's Moon

The moon shines down from its lofty perch,
with power to make two lover's hearts lurch.

Always the silent witness of an evening rendezvous,
sees, but says nothing, as it casts its silvery hue.

Their thirst for unbridled passion,
lingers throughout the night,
no rest will these two bodies know,
till dawn shall bring its light.

So now my friends, if you have someone,
for whom your heart does croon,
then take their hand, and relinquish your wills,
to the power of the silvery moon.

silvery moon, oh silvery moon
come take away this lonesome
gloom. bring happiness' love
of blossoming blooms.

sensual showers sprinkle down,
dreaming of lovers lane. hanging
high, up in the sky. bringing us
brilliant baskets full, of giddy
giggles.

warmth wraps us, into willowing
arms. covers of gentle grass,
lightly lift our sagging spirits.

silvery moon, oh silvery moon.
thank you, for your help from
above. making our dreams,
a doo-able thing. spreading
your love of silver and spice.

:rose:

just a thought ~

Very beautiful. I have always loved the moon and feel especially attuned with it when I'm with my special one. I'm delighted that you were able to rhyme using rendezvous, something I would not have thought of.
The direction in the last stanza towards the audience was an interesting turn but I would have liked the poem better if had not broken the fourth wall, to use a movie term. I think more specifically, I don't like "my friend", perhaps something else might flow better?
I shall certainly be seeking the rest of your work. I'm intrigued! (I'm also new here)

Yeah- theres things I say that get repeated, too. Matter of fact, if I don't like a kid and don't want him to come back I say things a lot- to be sure they are repeated, and the little fucker won't be back!!

lol

Hi sweety! Hope your well. I am. Love you!

Cool Banana's?

Hi Boo,
I knew what you meant! And here's a hot banana for ya! Enjoy! He's so hot, he's "throbbing." Watch him jump! :nana:

oh now that's an interesting comment teacherman. 'my friend' does alter the hmm the ambience? the perspective? i wonder how else that could be written...

going to look at your posted poem now. :)

"My Friend"

Teacherman,
Maybe, "So now my friends(plural)...", or maybe, "So now, brave hearts, if you have someone...." (just a thought).

Sleeping And Dreaming.

Hey Boo,
"A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep...." (Cinderella).

"My friends" suddenly reminds me of Puck's monologue at the end of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". It seems to fit much better. I also thought that "kindred spirits" might work, although that might disrupt the rhythm.
