Amunet waited by the door anxiously as the guard sent along the message of Amunet's request to speak with the Pharoah. She instantly grew nervous as the guard entered her room and informed her that the Pharoah had agreed to speak with her. She sighed softly at the way the guard told her. He spoke to her like she was a commoner who was requesting some of the Pharoah's precious time. She shook her head some and followed the guard to her father chambers. Amunet reluctantly placed her hand on the door then stepped inside her fathers chambers. She was regretting this now. The stern look on her fathers face told her there was no reasoning with him but she had to try.
"Father, please sit down. I really wish to speak to you.", she grabbed her father's hand then walked him over to the sitting area of his chambers. She took a seat next to him then looked at him with her sad eyes. The old Amunet had returned. When she was in the room with Meti, her eyes had been alive even when the Pharoah sentenced him to death. "Father, look at me. I am so unhappy. Everyday, I wake up hoping to find the one thing that will make me happy but I have never been able to find it. Then Meti came into the palace to work.", she saw the anger in her fathers face rise at the mention of Meti. She placed her hand against her fathers cheek to attempt to remain him calm. "I know that you don't understand but I'm asking you to listen to me. What Meti and I did is not proper in the eyes of God. But God also wishes for every child of Him to be happy. I'm not. Meti make's me happy. There is something about him that takes away my sadness. I remember you telling me that you give anything to see me happy like I use to be. Please father, I'm begging you, don't take away the one thing that makes me happy. But if you still decide to take him away from me, at least let me spend the last few hours of his life with him." Tears were streaming down Amunet's soft cheeks at this point. She only hoped that her father would see that she knew what she was talking about
