Life can mean many things for people, some know what horror is. The horror of how savage the human can become. It shows many things, humanity was slowly slipping away from everyone. Someone who was greedy and proud had all the money they wanted, yet did not do anything meaningful for anyone or anything. It kind of scared some people. It scared one person in particular, the girls name was Eden Wolf she was eighteen today.

She had a very good man in her life Damien meant everything to her, yet it was not to be. She did not know what to do without him, everything around her just seemed to turn to shit. Everything around her was soundless, where she did not see black and white. She only saw grey, it was the color of sadness. It was amazing how one man could make her feel like she was worth everything. Smiling a little bit as she looked at the picture of her with Damien.

Running her fingers against the picture, tears formed in her eyes. But they never fell, she was cold, bitter and very angry. Nothing seemed to matter to her, and all she knew was everything was nothing to her. She had no one left, since her parents died two years ago. She had been on her own for so long, it kinda hurt to know what some people thought. Now everything just seemed so different, she had no reason to smile any more.

Life is one of the most prescious gifts anyone can be given. Not only is it priceless but it is taken for granted every minute of every day. Few think of how quickly it can be taken away without any regard for regrets. Damien never thought about such things, though he should have. He had something, someone special who he had yet to tell how much she meant to him.

Damien awoke with a gasp, his heart panting as he touched his forehead. The dream had been so real. It felt as though death had truly had it's grip on him. Sitting up he shook his head. He needed to tell her, today. Stretching he swinging his legs over the bed. He felt different for some reason. Maybe it was the dream, maybe it was the realization that he had to tell a woman almost twenty years younger than him that he loved her. Standing he sighed, he would be turning thirty-five this year and it seemed as though life was flying buy. It felt as though last year he was just out of college.

Walking towards his bathroom he winced, knocking his toe against the night stand. He had never done that before. He needed to wake up. Stepping into the bathroom he shivered as his bare feet touched the tile. Glancing in the mirror he felt as though he was going to faint. Touching his face his hands began to shake. It wasn't his face. Nor was it his body. The scars from childhood adventures were gone, tattoos from teenage mistakes missing. Turning around he grabbed the sink beginning to fall.

Running into the bedroom again he grabbed the phone on the night stand. The phone that didn't look like his. Opening it he glanced at the date. It was weeks from yesterday when he went to bed. Now that he thought about it, he couldn't quite remember going to bed. His fingers quickly slid over the keys punching in the only number her knew by heart. He had to talk to Eden. She would know what to do. She was level headed enough to see things clearly.

Lifting the phone to his ear he closed his eyes, sitting on the bed. After a moment he glanced down pealing the boxers he wore away enough to look into them. At least one thing was the same. Thinking as he listened to the ringing he looked over his shoulder trying to look at his back. Maybe... Walking back into the bathroom he turned around glancing at his back in the mirror. The birthmark on his back was still there. A small black mark in the middle of his back. It was still there.

Eden did not know how much more she could take of the emptiness, she still remembered his funeral that she paid for. Since she had the money or what little money from her fathers death, since her mother died giving birth to her. It appeared that the men in her life died, and began to think she was a black widow. A woman who kills men close to her, and she was just terrified about everything. Everything in her wanted to scream out, her will breaking down and frankly nothing seemed to stop.

In some religions like Catholics they believed in angels from god, she believed in the angel Gabriel. Because she knew he was a messenger, he would call forth the war. But he was kind and was there when you needed him the most, though it was not seen by the naked eye. She wrote a song dedicated to Damien called Gabriel. Because Damien was her Gabriel in many ways, there to hold her when she was scared, to let her vent when she was angry. An ear to listen to her problems she may have.

But then she felt something in the pit of her stomach, flashes began to fill her head to remember everything that happened to her when it came to Damien. She was pushed back onto the couch so to speak and closed her eyes. Remembering how he hugged her, remembering every little detail. She sat up on the couch her hands against her face, she began to wonder what the hell was going on. Felt like she was slowly going insane, but right then and their everything just seemed to stop.

Her eyes looked over at a picture of her friend, running her fingers over it again. She was so afraid of so many things. It was almost hard to believe, frankly everything just seemed so different. Right then and there she felt something, slowly standing up she began to wonder if it was possible. Deep down she was pulled to believe he wasn't exactly dead, but perhaps this was a dream? She shook her head figuring once she went to bed, she would come to reality again so she laid down on the bed.

Eden sighed a little bit saying his name to herself "Damien..." She closed her eyes rolled onto her side, a tear escaped her eye as she fell asleep quickly. Her phone beside her and deep down she was praying he would be there. She began to dream of Damien in her sleep, seeing his funeral in her dreams. She just wanted to curl up and die so to speak, but then she even felt that he was alive some how. But now it was just hard to believe, she had hope that everything would be okay in the end.

"Damn it Eden. You were always one to keep your phone on silent." He mumbled before hitting redial. Pulling on a shirt from the closet he tried to think of what to do. Pulling on pants he grabbed the wallet on the table. Opening it he looked for an idea. Staring down at it he blinked. The id had his new face on it with the name Gabriel. Grabbing the keys next to the wallet he walked out of the bedroom wondering through the house trying to find the front door.

Finally managing to get to 'his' car he slid in. He had pressed redial three times by now and he was determined to see Eden. None of this was making sense. Pulling out he tried to figure out where he was. An hour and many odd streets later he managed to pull up in front of the house he had visited so many times. Stepping out of the dark black car he walked up the few steps and ran the door bell.

He ran slim fingers through dirty brown hair as green eyes stared at the door. "Please be home Eden." He muttered to himself. He felt lost as he stood there, waiting for the love of his life to answer. What would he say? Would she believe him? Could he believe himself? "Eden!" He called through the door beginning to knock

Eden was tossing and turning it was annoying, but then she heard the door bell ring and she sat up quickly startled by the change of events. Her panting could be heard but only within the room. Everything and nothing made sense. But hearing the door bell again she stood up, she was in a pair of black pants and a white normal t-shirt. She walked close to the door, hearing a man call her name. She was rather confused about this and she sighed a little, and she opened up the door seeing a man she never had seen before.

Nothing was going her way she cocked her head to the side a little bit and tried to think if she knew him. Running the face through her memory like she could do, since she remembered everyone and everything. She had a photographic memory which was how she learned to play so many instruments. It was a good ability to have and she never miss used it, she never watched people type in passwords. Eden left that ability hackers that wanted to destroy people and their very lives.

Clearing her throat she did not know what to do but she showed him in, she was more then capable of kicking his ass if he tried something. She missed Damien since he always called her Luna because it was her middle name. "So who are you? I know we have never met before" She said simply. The way she said it wasn't rude or annoying, but it showed her concern because she was confused. She crossed her arms and did not know what to think any more, she was a little bit scared.

"How do you know my name?" She asked the simple question.

His breath caught in his throat as he saw her. She was always so beautiful especially having just woken up. She always had this innocent tousled look to her and it always made him chuckle when he saw her in such a way. Walking in he tried to think of how to start. "Ok... listen I know you don't know me but you do know me and before you go on your I have a photographic memory kick hear me out." He said turning to look at her, hands shaking.

"I don't know what happened. One minute I was happy go lucky with my life and with you and the next I'm having this weird ass dream about me being dead! I wake up thinking that I need to change my life tell people how I truly feel about them and I'm this!" He yelped motioning to his face and body. "My Id says Gabriel but my name is Damien! It's me! Damien!" He said frantically not knowing what else to say.

"Please tell me you know whats going on or I don't know I just... I needed to see a familiar face and I was scared that maybe you were someone different to." Standing there he looked into her eyes hoping to god she didn't try to kill him. Or atleast maybe believed him.

She listened to his voice and it wasn't Damien's, everything on him was different. But she heard everything he said, she paid close attention to every detail. She did not want to miss anything, and she leaned against her dinning room table. She looked down for a moment, she did not know what to do or say. But her stormy eyes looked up and outside the window, seeing how life was seen outside the window. He took a big risk coming here, but something in his voice was familiar. She had no idea what to say.

Things began to become something else, right now things were just scared. Right now everything in her was screaming, she walked away from him for a moment. Going to her room, thankfully her place was one floor and simple. She came back about ten minutes later with a book in her hand, she sighed a little bit. Flipping through the pages, the words were in a different language as she seemed to know what she was reading. She seemed to smile as she looked up at him, if he was Damien.

"My grandmother was a woman who could see the dead, she understood the pain they had and she would classify you as the lover. Someone who has a reason to stay here with the living, a reason to forget heaven and hell and to do what ever it took to get back. You have pretty much pushed out Gabriele's being and became him. " She said simply and sighed a little bit, looking around nothing seemed right.

But she walked right up to him looking into his eyes, she had a little of the gift but not to much. But something pulled her to him, something in his eyes helped her to understand. She closed her eyes for a moment allowing everything to sink in. But looking back up into his eyes she saw the spark and began to believe. Memories flooding her mind again as she wanted to faint but she kept up right. "Damien?" She said his name as to confirm it, it was easy to tell she was starting to believe.

She walked away from him towards her room. His heart sank in his chest as he tried to keep himself from following her they way he always had. Looking down he felt his body begin to tired as sadness enveloped him. Without her in his life he didn't know what to do or how to continue on. It was only when she returned that he began to feel like himself again. Stepping forward he glanced at the book before looking down again. "The lover." He mumbled with a chuckle. "Sounds about right."

She came closer speaking clearly as she did. Reaching out he carefully touched the side of her face the way he always used to do. "If that's true..." He paused before continuing. He had nothing to lose now. "If that's really true your the reason Luna." He whispered to her. "Did... I really die?" He asked rubbing her cheek.

Everything felt surreal. What this just another dream he would awake from? He didn't want to be someone else, he had enjoyed being himself though it was only when he was with her that he was just that. She had brightened his world in more ways than one over the time they had been together.

Finally pulling his hand away he took a seat at the dining room table. "Is... there any way I can be me again? In my body? Not that this body is that bad. I think I have more muscle mass in this one but I had grown to like mine very much." He joked trying to keep himself from losing his cool. It was obvious she was unhappy, her eyes were slightly red from tears he knew she had been holding back. "Luna... are you ok?" He asked holding his hand out to her as he had done every time she had been upset. He had always pulled her into his lap holding her tight when she was on the brink of breaking.

Eden looked at him and she felt his eyes looking into her soul and she was open to him that was the kind of girl she was, she was understanding and saw things from a different point of view. But when he touched her, that warm touch meant everything to her. And something told her he had no idea just how special he was to her. Things were just so hard right now, but when he called her Luna she knew it really was him. Which made her heart hurt even more, she had lost him once and did not want to lose him again.

But when he touched her and asked her if he really died, she nodded to him. Reliving the whole thing, it was terrible. "We were going to dinner but you had to get some money from the ATM. I was in your car waiting for you, but then a man in black covered came up and stole everything from you. He shot you in heart, and I tried everything to save your life. But there was no way to control the bleeding. I was watching you die right before my eyes, trying to keep you with me but it wasn't to be" She closed her eyes as a tear fell down her cheek.

Watching him sit down she thought for a moment "I honestly don't know, your body is decomposed now there is nothing left, There is a slight ability in my families blood line but nothing that could make you, you again" She said softly and sighed sadly as she began to think of things to be. But she staggered as she moved closer to him, her face red with the sadness of losing him. Seeing him dying was something she never wanted to see again, and seeing his hand out to her.

She froze for a moment but she did not understand why she was the reason he would be there, her eyes looking into his as her knees sank as she collapsed before him. Instead of taking his hand she just hugged him and began to cry into his chest. Her heart breaking since she id not understand anything, it was so damn hard. But right now she did not know what was going to happen now. "Why would I be your reason to come back?" She said looking back up into his face slightly.

His heart sank as he listened to his death. As she spoke he began to remember, could almost feel the pain in his chest where the bullet had sunk in. Before he could comment she was before him on her knees, hugging him tightly as she began to cry. Carefully he pulled her into his lap, his arms wrapping around her in a tight embrace. "It's ok." he whispered against her ear rubbing her back. She was a strong girl, one to hold everything in and never let anyone see her falter, except for him. Kissing the top of her head he squeezed her against his chest, not wanting her to ever be vulnerable again. He could feel his own tears burning his throat as he thought of her alone in this world without him. "I'll never leave you again. I promise." he mumbled against her hair, rocking her slowly.

Lifting her chin he looked into her eyes, smiling slightly. 'You were always one to bottle things up, no matter how many times I told you not to." He chuckled wiping her cheeks free of tears with his thumb. "I love you." He whispered quietly. "That night...I had planned on telling you how I felt. How much you meant to me. I should have told you sooner. The moment I knew I should have told you." Kissing her forehead he rubbed her sides slowly. "I wanted you to move in with me... to start a life together..." He swallowed as he stared into her beautiful eyes. "And I never got the chance. I couldn't go to heaven or hell without telling you. Without you know how truly special you are."

"Everything... is going to be ok. You aren't alone anymore." Rubbing her back he smiled to her. "Happy birthday Luna."

She had held this in for so long she could not fathom what this was like for him, for her it had felt like someone sunk a dagger into her heart and ripped it out of her chest. Seeing her heart beat before her and it was then she realized how much of her heart she had given him. Damien was her heart and she loved him for it. He was kind and very loving, everything just escaped her mind as she felt him hug her back. It was so hard to be strong so much, how many times he told her not to hold things in.

But it was her nature to, but when he lifted up her chin and told her he loved her, and that he could not move on without telling her. Life was something a lot of people seemed to take for granted, but Eden was never that way. She never took things for granted, because she never took him for granted, which was why part of her died with him. Seeing his death for three months, he had been gone for almost a year. And here he held her, telling her things he had always wanted to say.

Everything was unfair in that moment, she did not know what to think any more. Her heart beating and she smiled a little bit. The three little words still rang in her ears, she reached her hand to his cheek. It was amazing just how much things could be, it was to the point where she knew what she wanted. Silence stuck within the air for a moment, but now she understood what she needed to know. It was clear she was in love with him it was not to hard to figure that out, and right now it was just different.

"I love you to Damien, I have loved you for so long" She said smiling a little bit, but then when he said happy birthday to her, she just hugged him tighter. She just hoped to god he would be here until he grew very old and died of natural causes. Life was precious and knew not what god willed but hoped he would be there with her for a long time. It was not his time to go, no matter what anyone said he was not meant to die not like that. She heard his heart beating and knew not what happens next.

Her eyes looked up into his almost begging for him to kiss her.

Smiling he looked down at her, brushing her hair away from her forehead before slipping it behind her ear. "You're so beautiful." He whispered lightly leaning down and pressing his forehead against hers. "I'll never leave again." he whispered once more before brushing his lips against hers. Touching the side of her neck he pulled her against him kissing her gently. He had always been worried about kissing her. For the longest time he had felt she thought he was to old for her. Wrapping his arms around her tighter he pressed a little harder before pulled away enough to stare into her eyes.

"Come, lets get you to bed. YOu were asleep when I got here." He whispered sliding an arm under her knees before standing, holding her in his arms. "Tomorrow. I'll take you shopping for your birthday. I'll make it up to you." He smiled lightly knocking her bedroom door open. Walking in he slowly placed her on her bed before sitting down next to her touching her hand. "Luna...I'm so sorry I left you alone." Kissing her forehead he began to tuck her in as he had done many times before though this time he wouldn't go home. He would sleep in the living room on the couch. He was afraid he would wake up somewhere else.

Eden felt amazed by how he could make her feel it was over powering at times for her, but right now she was just rather satisfied. But when he brought her into his arms, even though everything about him was different. She could still see the Damien she fell in love with, just looking into his eyes she could see so much. She did not like what was going on with him, but right now she just hoped he would not leave her for a long time. She did not know how old he was now but she did know he was in his 40's before he died.

But his spirit was beautiful and it was something she loved more then anything, the way he held her and the way he spoke to her. Was everything that she thought she had lost forever, but in that moment she began to understand how certain things worked. But then she felt his lips graze her own, and it made a tear fall down her face. When he kissed her fully she rested a hand on his cheek, giving him the loving kiss she had wanted to give him for so long. She had no idea how this would work.

But she was willing to do anything for him, the kiss was magical and it meant everything to her. But when he said what he did she smiled. Tucking her in like a father would his child, it was sweet how he had a touch of fathering in him. But when he kissed her forehead she held him, not wanting to let him go. Looking into his eyes she stroked his cheek, everything just seemed so perfect. And right now she just wanted to be with him, now that they had been open to one another.

"Stay with me" She whispered but was loud enough for him to hear.

He stared down at her, his eyes gentle as he looked into the face he thought he would never see again. Her voice was so small as she spoke, seeming to call to him from the depths of her soul. With a small nod his lips turned up into a loving smile. Carefully he slid under the covers with her, wrapping an arm around her as he did. "I'll stay as long as you want me to." He whispered against her ear, kissing her hair before relaxing in her bed. They had cuddled before, even slept at each others houses but this was different. This was intimate somehow. Rubbing her arm he cooed against her ear to rest. He was tired himself, having such a shock had taken so much out of him.

Rubbing her side he closed his eyes thinking of the many days they had spent together. How they had laughed and teased one another. He could remember the picnics and movies they had attended. How he had made his heart flutter on so many occasions. Sighing happily he wondered if he would ever get used to this body, and what his life would hold for him now. He didn't plan on dying again any time soon. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her at his side. Thinking to the house he woke up in he wondered if he owned it or rented. Did he have a job? Glancing down at he once more he realized it didn't matter, none of it did. Not at that moment anyway. He had what truly mattered in his arms at that second and he was content to enjoy it to it's fullest.

Smiling he lifted a hand to play with her hair, letting the soft tresses slide through his fingers as he waited for her to sleep. He wanted her to feel safe. He never wanted her to worry again and he was determined to keep his promise of never leaving her.

Eden was just glad he was there with her, she felt more alive with him there. Closing her eyes she had wrote a song that she knew he would want to hear. She wrote it about him and how much she truly loved him. It was nice to be able to have these moments together, and right now this was the moment she had craved the most. Being able to cuddle with each other again, being one on the bed it was just really nice. Her heart was pounding as she was unsure about what would be going on, but things happened differently.

Time was all they had now, time to make up and get ready for the end for both of them. But right now nothing seemed to matter, holding onto him like she was afraid to wake up without him. Which she was frankly, she was terrified of being without him. Right now everything just seemed different to her. He had a different voice, different eyes and body. Hair was different, and yet the soul still was the same. It began to make her wonder if this was meant to happen, perhaps her grandmother was right.

"You know I wrote you a song a long while back, it was going to be sung that night you were killed. So I guess that we both had something to tell the other, but afraid how the other thought. Which was why that I did not sing it, but perhaps tomorrow I could sing it for you" She said with such a happy go lucky smile on her face. Knowing he would want to hear it, but she just hoped that he would still be there. She was almost to terrified to sleep, but her mind and body needed rest she could feel it.

She smiled feeling his hand playing with her hair and she moved a little bit so she was on her side but her head on his chest, pretty much her way of silently not allowing him to move and get away from her.

As she rolled over so her head was on his chest he chuckled softly. "I'm not going anywhere." He cooed playfully though hugged her tighter to his body. Kissing the top of her head he yawned. "I would love to hear it. I know it'll be amazing, just like you." Lightly rubbing her side his fingers slid under her shirt enough to rub her bare side very lightly. "But for now get some sleep. Tomorrow is another day, with a lot more excitement."

Carefully he lifted her chin, kissing her gently on the lips and then her nose. "Goodnight Luna my love." He whispered before hugging her. Pulling the blankets farther around them he made sure she was comfortable before getting comfortable himself, his arm wrapped around her snugly and his free hand holding her against his chest. Slowly, he began to drift to sleep a smile playing on his lips. He had never been so happy and so aware of the precious gift he held in his arms.

*********

Yawning Damien began to stretch as he felt a weight against him. His eyes began to flutter open, met with soft hair and the angelic sleeping face of Luna. Smiling he yawned again hugging her as he awoke. He wouldn't wake her as he watched her sleep grinning oddly as his body began to wake up. He was still there, still laying with her in her bed. Still alive and fully aware of his surroundings. He was so happy he hadn't vanished magically in the night. the day before he wouldn't have put anything to doubt.

It felt nice to feel warm while you slept, a body to be against that kind of thing. And frankly as it was life could not get any more simpler it was nice. And right now everything just seemed so damn different, and when it came to many things. She was just happy with how life was going, cuddling up to him. It was just nice to be able to believe certain things, everything was so different. But right now it was nice. It was really nice to be able to begin to dream, a dream that was really wonderful.

Her dream was amazing it was of them being together physical and emotionally it was amazing, right now she was just really happy. Things were as they were and right now she was just really happy about everything. Her heart was beating quickly as she had that grin on her face that Damien would see. The dream was amazing, but something was shaking her or perhaps part of her was telling her it was time to get up. Right now everything just seemed rather nice, as it was and she yawned.

Soon things were going to be different and she started to wake up, and looking up she noticed that he was there. And that made her really happy, just the most small and simple things were just perfect. She groaned a little and yawned covering her mouth as she slowly sat up a little bit "Mmm Damien good morning" She said with such a happy smile on her face. And sat up again looking into his eyes. "Are you hungry could make us something breakfast wise" She said with a happy smile.

Staring down at her waking former he smiled running light fingers against her back before kissing her forehead. " good morning beautiful did you sleep well" he whispered his eyes lidded and his breathing slow. " breakfast sounds wonderful. what would you like?" slowly he sat up making sure she was comfortable before stepping out of bed. this new body was stronger than hos true former and his muscles played under his black shirt. he wasn't quite sure what to make of this body and what this man had done to keep up with it.

She smiled at him and could tell he was really happy just how he carried himself now, right now however though she was not to sure what to make of certain things. Sitting up in bed she smiled at him with love. "I was going to make you something, something special" She said. Grinning she knew what he liked. And sighed a little bit, she got up quickly to go into the other room to get breakfast ready. Humming a bit as she had a reason to get up in the morning again, it felt nice.

"I love you" She said out of the blue.

(Sorry I vanished. Unexpected vacation but I'm back now.)

Looking down at her he smiled running his fingers through her hair before stretching. "Luna You are absolutely beautiful." He whispered before following her towards the kitchen. "I love you too." He mumbled against her ear as his arms wrapped around her. "How can I help." he cooed his arms hugging her for a moment before he let her go to lean against the counter next to her. "So..have you decided on a college yet?" He asked knowing the last time he had spoken to her she had talked about a few options.

Eden smiled at him and shook her head "Ever since you died I just stopped, so no I haven't thought about it. She could not help but really think now, crossing her arms she was thinking of all sorts of things. Reaching up she stroked his cheek and smiled big time, reaching up she kissed him deeply. It felt nice to be able to touch him again, right in that moment everything was just perfect. And she sat down to relax, right now everything was as it should be. Being happy was something she wanted.

Smiling he kissed her back before standing from the counter. Picking her up with grace he placed her down on the counter his hands moving to cup her face. Pulling back enough to look her in the eye he smiled bigger. "I'm glad you are happy again." He whispered before kissing her again deeper this time his arms wrapping around her back as he stood between her legs.

She felt how perfect the kiss was, made her feel special and even loved. Wrapping her body around him as they both kissed. It felt amazing to feel so much love, now that they knew the other loved them, then neither of them would be able to leave. What was important now was that she had him back. And it would be a cold day in hell before she let him go again, he had been taken away once. She would never let it happen again. Frankly she wanted this and had for a very long time, just never had the nerve.

Pulling away again he rubbed the sides of her legs before chuckling. "Come on, lets do some cookin." He teased. "And then maybe I can take you to my new place it's pretty interesting." He laughed his eyes sparkling with life. She was everything he ever wanted in life placed in one person. Offering his hands to help her down he couldn't help but call her beautiful one more time.

Eden smiled and nodded though he was a terrible tease, but she sighed a bit. She wanted him to just take her since she was still in her black robe and smiled. "Or we can have a little fun, then take a shower and go out to eat" She moved her robe to the side so he could see she was naked. Testing but but also wanting him was hard. She had wanted him for the longest damn time and she sighed, knowing perhaps this wasn't a good idea but she went with it any way. It was really nice and perfect.
