( OOC this is a vampire romance. Please message me before joining. I would really like a detailed writer that posts more than one paragraph if possible. )
Everyday was the same as the last in Clarkville. Oh sure the weather changed from time to time but that was just about the only change you look look forward to in the small town of 1500 people.
The people where all the same The men wore slacks with button up shirts and loafers and the women wore dresses or skirts with fancy high heels. Even the children looked like something that stepped out of a Sears catalog. Even the kids from the "wrong" side of town always wore their best clothes for school and church.
And in a town so small Eva Morgan stuck out like a sore thumb. With her dark eye make up and blood red lipstick. Her black clothes and combat boots. Her mother was Irish and her Father German so even with out her " goth" look she would have been different from the average blond or brunet that overwhelmed the school she attended. With her Flame read hair and her alabaster white skin and large emerald green eyes. People noticed her no matter what she wore. She had attempted to get her mother to let her dye her hair black several years ago and that had gone over about as well as her one attempt to get the school to play Ozzy at the jr. high school winter dance.
It just wasn't gonna happen. But she didn't really mind. Eva loves her hair even though she complains that the thick curly mass was the bain of her existence. Eva had one best friend in the hole town. A girl named Susie from the " wrong" side of town. Though the two had grown apart in some ways since Susie had recently gotten herself a boyfriend The two where still best friends. Where Susie was tall Eva was short only standing 5 foot 4 inches. Susie with her thin blond hair envied Eva for her mass of red locks that fell in curls to her hips. While Susie was well muscled and large chested Eva was petite with a delicate bone structure and a decent B in her chest. Susie was bronzed from working on her family's farm. Eva was as white as a sheet of paper.
The two where nothing alike. Eva loves Rock and Susie country.
Eva wears heavy eye make up and blood red lipstick. Susie wears no make up at all. Eva and Susie loved each other like sisters despite their differences. And they always had.
Eva is shy and walks around with ear buds blasting her favorite songs into her ears and a book in her hands while Susie is out going and popular. No one understood how the two had become such close friends.
Lately Eva had been spending allot more time alone since Susie was spending more and more time with her boyfriend Max. The two where almost imseperable. Not that Eva minded. She actually enjoyed her alone time. Often taking her favorite book and i pod to the old cemetery up on Macker Hill and laying under a huge old oak tree to pass the time. The cemetery was used in the 1600's and not to many graves had dates beyond that time on the stones. When the much larger cemetery had been created over on palatine ave. No one came to the old Macker Hill Cemetery anymore. And many had claimed it was haunted by Mr. Macker and his dog beast.
Eva had never believed the rumors and had made the old cemetery her play ground and then her own personal library when she was just 12. In all that time she had not seen a single person step foot inside the iron gates that surrounded the place.
But once a year she noticed that someone would visit one of the graves. The stone was so old that the name and dates had been worn away by the elements so she couldn't read it. But always on October 28th she would come up here and sure enough there would be flowers on the freshly tended grave.
It was a mystery that Eva never hoped to solve but often day dreamed about. Today as she lay under the big oak tree she noticed something odd. No less than 3 moving trucks and a shiny black Lexus with tinted windows in the drive way of the Macker mansion that was within walking distance of the cemetery.
Sitting up she leans against the big tree and watches with interest as movers hustle to move boxes and sheet covered pieces of furniture into the huge house. Raising her eyes she looks up at the very top window which she could only guess was the attic and seen a light blazing from the window.
The sun was almost set and she knew she should get home but she was to interested in what was going on with the house.
She wondered who was moving in and if they had a kid her age.
Maybe .. no HOPEFULLY that kid if he or she existed would be like her. Some one she would have something in common with.
Sighing she slowly gets up and brushes her ankle length black velvet skirt off and straitens the bodice of her blouse and checking her corset. Leaning down she grabs her book and slowly makes her way from the cemetery and back down the hill into the "normal" world.
As soon as she enters the house her mother comes rushing from the kitchen and puts her hands on her hips.
" its about time you got home. dinner is almost done. go wash up and set the table."
groaning Eva does as she is told and then goes to the kitchen.
As she is setting the table for three places her mother informs her that there was a rumor going around today at the beauty parlor where she gets her hair and nails done that a family had bought the old Macker mansion.
Eva nods her head " yeah i know i seen the moving trucks when i was on my way home...does anyone know who they are?"
Her mother brings the food to the table and pats Eva on the shoulder. " you and that cemetery. It's not healthy for a girl your age to be hanging out in a musty place like that. and all anyone knows about the people moving into town is that The mother is some kind of art dealer and that the father is some sort of broker. They have a boy a few years older than you. I imagine you wont have much contact with him since he no doubt is in collage."
Sighing Eva sits at her place at the table and crosses her arms under her breasts. " just because he is in college doesn't mean i wont meet him mom..believe it or not. Everyone knows everyone in this town. So i imagine i will at some point run into him."
Eva knew she was being bratish but she couldn't help it she was feeling pretty disappointed that the new kid wouldn't be going to her school. She still held out hope that he would be more like her than the rest of the pod people. which is what she called the people of her small town.
Her mother smiles a too bright smile and sits next at the table as her husband comes into the room and takes the seat at the head of the table. " of course your absolutely right deer. As a matter of fact i was going to head up to the mansion after dinner and take a basket of treats to the new arrivals. Why don't you join me?"
Sighing Eva nods "alright."
Her parents chatted as they ate talking about the latest gossip and what Dad was doing at work and then he continued to tell them about the big promotion he was hoping to get. When they had finished their dinner of roast beef and new potato's and salad. Eva helped her mother clear the table and wash the dishes while her mother gathered the treats for the new family.
Walking out to the car Eva got into the passenger seat and buckled up and held the basket for her mom while the older woman drove them the few miles to the big mansion.
When they arrived her mother got out and took the basket from Eva and did an exaggerated shiver.
" the place still looks creepy if you ask me. Hopefully the new family is going to fix it up and make it look nice and cheery."
Eva followed her mother up the big stair way that lead to the door and grumbled. " i hope they leave it like it is. it has charector." Her mother sighed and used the lion's head shaped knocker to knock on the door.
In moments an elderly man opened the door. " may i be of assistance madam?" he asked in a strange accented voice.
Eva's mother took a step back from the old man before she recovered and smiled brightly.
" we just wanted to come by and welcome your family to the community" Her mothers voice shook just a little as she said her little speech and held the basket out to the old man.
" the family will be happy to receive you madam. "
holding the door open for them he gestured for them to come inside. Once in the larger than life entrance way he shut the door and lead them to a sitting room. There where still many boxes and crates around the room but the furniture was uncovered and he offered them a seat before slipping from the room to tell his employers they had company.
Mother and Daughter looked at each other and then around the room. It was like something right out of Eva's fantasies so naturally her mother hated it. Eva felt a shiver of hope go up her spine as her heart started beating faster in anticipation of meeting the new family.
Just when her mother was about to say something a very tall and masculine name and an equally as tall and statuesque lady appeared in the door way. both smiling and walking into the room.
They introduced themselves as Sean and Amelia and offered drinks to their guests.
Amelia smiled brightly at them and Eva felt that she was looking at the most beautiful women on the planet. She liked the parents instantly. the man Sean sat next to his wife on the love seat across from them.
" our son will join us momentarily" her mother nodded her head and they three adults chatted as Eva continued to survey the room around her. Just when her mother was getting up to say goodbye The most gorges man Eva had ever seen entered the room. Wearing all black and looking like a fallen angel. Her heart beat tripled and she began to blush as his eyes took in the room and then landed on her.
