I don't know what happened, but the breeze came through the window and blew all this dust in my eyes. That must be it.

lmao. Damn that dust. I have only cried in 3 episodes counting this one. I didn't even cry when Jin and Sun died. I was sad but for some reason it just didn't get to me like Charlie's death, Juliette's death and the finale.

I can rattle off no less than 10 plot holes (Isn't it great how characters like Desmond just automatically "know" what to do? Bet they wish that worked around finals)

3 characterization switches (Love how the smoke monster's invulnerability is dependent on how many episodes are left) and then just a total lack of focus.

The show was about a mystery with romance as a background. They turned the show into a sappy (and crappy) romance with ZERO regard for mystery.

They even hooked Smoke Monster up with his mom just to keep up with the romance theme.

Hence his confusion and sadness about not being transported out after he pulled the plug and he even said to Jack that he was wrong.
The sideways Desmond knew - just as they all knew once they remembered - what to do.

Wrong. He was invulnerable until Jack took over Jacob's part. It may have also had something to do with the pulling of plug since it was just after that that Jack drew his blood and vice versa.

Hooking mib with his mom? I think we were watching two different shows. I know how that's your thing but...

And to think, it was all CGI. The stuff they can do with computers, huh?

There was an article in T.V. Guide last week, I think it was. One of those behind the scenes deals. Spoiler free of course. Showed Nestor Carbonell on one of those fake horses, like a barrel with a saddle basically. Same kind they used in the LOTR films.

Hell, half the time they aren't even in Hawaii, it's green screens and stage sets.

Bit of a let down, I know. But still cool how they do all that stuff.


The black smoke is real though.

The final secrets revealed:

The horse was real, and there was no article.

I just noticed that the sappiness turned Lost into a chick show.

I guess since Sex and the City 2 bombed a lot of you are getting your love story out of Sayid and Shannon reuniting.

Season 1 started well had filler then a strong season finale.

Season 2 top to bottom excellent.
Season 3 was all filler except the finale.
Season 4 had an interesting premise but some dull episodes and flashbacks.
Season 5 couldn't carry the momentum of season 4 but had a good finale.
Season 6 a sideways clusterfuck.

Overall they produced about 35 good episodes and nearly 80 bad ones.

I totally don't see the Adam and Eve connection between MIB and the adoptive mother. But, perhaps that's just me. There weren't furtive lustful glances towards one another or snuggling up by the fire late at night. I think you've just read far too much into that.

I had guessed they wouldn't be invulnerable to one another when the adoptive mother informed the young Jacob and brother that she'd made it so that they couldn't harm one another - meaning that it wasn't always that way. The implication was also there that it wouldn't necessarily always be that way. All bets were off once mib figured out how to trick someone else into killing Jacob and someone else was recruited to take his spot.

They explained the Polar Bears long ago - Dharma.


Anywho, you hate the show. Or rather you've hated it since season whatever. That's cool. But it's a bit strange how much time and emotion you've invested in a show you've clearly disliked for some time now. If I'd felt that a series had 35 good shows out of 80 bad ones I can't imagine I'd continue wasting my time. But again, maybe that's just me. /shrugs

Oh I do.

I wish the 35 good episodes formed the heart of the series which led to the end.

To me, the ending should have had something to do with the number, the dharma initiative, the other, Jacob, smoke monster, the island, why the losties were there and the losties themselves.

Instead it was pretty much only about the losties and their invidual romances.

It became less of a mystery and more of a love story, I would even go so far as say a total sap fest.

A lot of mystery was built up that was answered very poorly in my opinion.

The show had a great buildup but died imo

Good premise like I said.

Seasons 1 and 2 were good, 3 horrible, 4 had some great moments, 5 some good moments.

I gave the writers the benefit of the doubt that there would be a pay off to the drama they built.

Instead it was a love fest with zero emphasis placed on answering questions raised.

I think Lost was cool because of the "WTF" moments like a pilot that gets chewed up and eaten by a mysterious force in the first episode.

Charlie's "Guys, where are we?"

the "Not penny's boat" moments.

All of that was put aside for pure romance.

Unsatisfying.

The best of Lost was when it did romance WITH answering mysteries. The Constant is the best episode of the series. Great emotion but also answered or at least I THOUGHT answered a question as to the nature of the island and the series.

Desmond and Penny will be together in anytime and can rely on each other outside of time.

That's the romance.

The island can be unhinged from time.

That's the mystery.

The show was at its best when it did both.

The series finale completely overlooked the mystery and just went with the romance.

Nah, I'm the type to order something from a restaurant and even if I don't like it I like the experience. You gotta have bad to have good.

The show had its moments but it won't go down as one of the best ever and its a shame cause it could have been.


I've got Battlestar Galactica and Dexter in my netflix queue so I won't lack for tv entertainment.

-The nature of Jacob. How he made a lighthouse that could see EVERYTHING and EVERYONE

-The nature of the smoke monster. Why was it dead people he could take the form of?

-What were the "Rules"? Who made the rules?

-Who built the statue and why?

-The drawings in the cave had the smoke monster with what appeared to be anubis. How far back did the smoke monster go? What was its history?

-Who ordered the purge?

-What were on the videos that Radzinsky edited?

-What was the nature of time travel and the island?
