Lost

Also, I'd like an answer for one of the most important questions of the entire season finale:

Why did Jack wait until after he was off the island to start growing his Grizzly Adams beard? It's actually been bothering me that all the men on the show seem to have perpetual 5 o' clock shadows when they all should have full beards by now.

I don't know about anyone else but if I'm stranded on an remote island, personal grooming is going to be near the bottom of my list of priorities.

I remember the women going through the luggage after the crash and sorting it into piles. Their had to be quite a handful of disposable razors and some shaving cream in the toiletries pile.

I am of a few minds about who is in the coffin... and who Kate is living with. Of course Ben is the logical choice for the coffin, it's pretty much a done deal that no one would come to his funeral. But in many ways it could be just as easily Sawyer or Locke. Besides since when does Lost always play the logical card?

And my suspicious mind tells me Kate is living with and caring for Locke. If he's off the island, he's probably back in the wheelchair. What better cover for her to hide from the police than as his loving daughter who is taking good care of him?

Now you want to hear something truly frightening? I work with a nurse and we always hash over what has happenedon LOST the next day. Today I said "what did you think of last nights ending?" "Oh I wasn't surprised that Charlie died." "Yeah, but what about Kate and Jack at the end?" "That surprised me, I never realized that they knew each other before the plane crash.". She had no frigging clue that it was the future and not the past. And she's responsible for people's health? I'm totally stunned that I have to work with such an IDIOT.

all you have to do is survive a plane crash to get one....

No, Ben in the coffin is not logical at all. As I said before, whoever died made front page news, probably national news since Jack was on a plane when he got the paper. Who is Ben to get that kind of story? As was pointed out before, no one stateside has any idea who he is. And why would he or Locke voluntarily leave the island? They were the two most invested in staying. You couldn't have dragged Locke off that island.

Now, Sawyer maybe, but again, why would no one come? That doesn't make any sense.

I think a couple of people are just way too anxious to see Ben dead so they're just hoping it's him in that casket; but, really, such a turn of events would be quite absurd, even for this show.

I also suspect people are assuming there's a lot of exposition between the final scene of them making contact with their rescuers and the eventual reveal that they do indeed leave the island. As if they're going to spend the entirety of Season 4 still puttering around on the island waiting for the rescue team to show up, allowing for all kinds plot twists and scandals that will lead to Ben being dead on the mainland and Sawyer committing some ultimate betrayal. I don't think so.

My prediction: They actually do get rescued at the beginning of Season 4, go their sepearte ways, and events will eventually lead them all back to the island. Remember, there are still three more seasons to go and with the principal characters no longer tethered to the island, the writers now have leeway to go in all kinds of different directions. That would be fun and breathe a lot of life back into the overall story.

The availabilty of shaving supplies doesn't mean men will automatically be shaving. All men hate to shave. And being stranded on a remote island is the perfect excuse to stop.

I use Sharpies all the time. Let me tell you, water fucks them UP. Seriously. That's total BS with the writing clearly without smears on your hand in the water.

Woudn't a beard on a tropical island be HOT?

A generous supply of shaving cream, disposable razors and such can only last for a while. Then again, maybe there is some Darma shaving cream and razors in the bunker.

There is gallons of Dharma ranch dressing so I'm sure there is Dharma shaving cream and razors too.

God knows they lay the food out there like a Continental Buffet at a fancy hotel. How do you get on that island? Hot women, beachfront, people hooking up, plenty of food, why would anyone want to go home??

Actually I think writers will now start telling the exact story they have been only in reverse.

Next season we will see them try to leave the island only instead of flashbacks we'll see more flash forwards.

The series is like mash but less entertaining.

On the island, Jack's beard had some gray in it, back home, his beard had no gray. Also, if the island can bring a man back to life, again and again, how come it can't fix that guys eye??

Hair-dye?

Injury that happened prior to being on the island... I can see a skin covered eyeball being kinda hard to fix. A broken spine is all internal... growing back an eye... eww..

In addition, if Locke does not want to leave the island then he should just stay, why does he have to blow up subs or kill people? He could stay and bang the French chick....live happily every after

I don't think Kate is with Sawyer in the flashforward. She seemed nervous to be gone for too long - not wanting "him" to know she was gone - would Sawyer make her feel that way? I'm thinking that maybe Ben is the one waiting for her at home.
Who else could it be?

Even if you were saying that as a joke, it's not a bad theory.
well, I was joking, for the most part, but I wouldn't put anything past the writers and producers. there are other shows I like better, but I have almost never been this puzzled and intrigued by a tv show.

I think with about one more hr they could have just ended the series completely.... I enjoyed it but it really needs to just end.

The thing with this show is that I'm constantly thinking when I watch it - it's not a kick back and relax kind of show. You have to pay attention watching it.
