Lost

Why isn't Kate in jail? Do you get trapped on an island for a few months (Thats right on the show it has only been a few months) and you no longer are a murderer?

She could have concocted a new identity. Just because Jack can get in touch with her doesn't mean she isn't going by the handle of Suzie Smith these days. She'd even changed her hair color.

A plane wreck is the perfect cover for a fugitive to disappear.

Once again pointing towards Sawyer being dead and Ben being the man Kate is returning to. He's had a thing for her, we know that. She makes a deal to be with him to get Jack and Sawyer off the island and in return he gives her the identity of a dead person from the plane. He knows their history, he knows who she could "become" without raising eyebrows.

Why wouldn't anyone go to Sawyer's funeral? He's curmudgeonly but people still like him. And Kate loves him. For her to blow off his funeral would be totally out of character.

I say Sawyer is the one she's shacking up with.

Remember there are still 3 years to pass. Sawyer will do something HORRIBLE to make him a complete outcast in that time. Kate will still want him to live because he IS the father of her child, but it will be raised by her and Ben because it is a child born and conceived on the island.

I doubt it. If anything he'll die being a hero. I thought he would have been killed off by now anyway. Charlie actually stole Sawyers excellent death scene.

Also, I'd like an answer for one of the most important questions of the entire season finale:

Why did Jack wait until after he was off the island to start growing his Grizzly Adams beard? It's actually been bothering me that all the men on the show seem to have perpetual 5 o' clock shadows when they all should have full beards by now.

I don't know about anyone else but if I'm stranded on an remote island, personal grooming is going to be near the bottom of my list of priorities.

Maybe because they wanted him to look hot and not pathetic?

It didn't work because he's a whiny ass jerk.

I lost all respect for that character when he was caught by the others and acted like a little bitch.

That totally ruined his character for me.

Kate was the same way plus indecisive about who to fuck.

Only Sawyer came out of that with a strong worthwhile character.

Fury :rose:

I thought that as well. My guess is, Jack stopped caring about everything including grooming because he apparently is so distraught he left the island.

I'm trying to figure out how to write on my palm while surrounded by gushing ocean water..... Must be one of those new fangled pens.

It's a sharpie ! Gushing ocean water has nothing on them, I tell ya'. ;)

After Charlie turned off the blinking light - talks to Penny - Sees one eyed man with grenade in his hands.

He had the time to rush out of that area .. slammed the door and locked it before the one eyed' man actually broke the window and threw in the grenade. How come he felt the need to die. :(

Charlie thought, or was told, that he had to die to save the other survivors. He did it for Claire and her baby.

Well, a lot of permanent markers, when allowed to dry properly, need alcohol or a non-polar solvent to dissolve. I mean, we've all had the "fun" of trying to scrub marker stains off our fingers.

Still, given he had all of 5 seconds to write it, odds are it wouldnt' have been dried, and would have run/smudged.

One thing about this show is they don't have any problem killing people off from time to time.

Nobody is safe....

I agree with Medjay

The coffin had Michael.

So now, it will be flashbacks to the future.

don't you think walt would have been at the funeral if it was michael? they supposedly left the island at the same time.

I think Walt is dead and that's why he appeared to Locke.

If Walt's not dead, then his latent psychokinetic powers have transported him to another plain of existence.

Or he's running with the Polar Bears.

Jack was slipping for a minute but he regained some of his gangster status when he called Ben's walkie-talkie bluff and then treated him to that viscious beatdown. And saying he'd wait to kill him until after making him watch the survivors leave also added mass to his nutsack.

I'll agree with you about Kate, though. She went from mildly gangster to clueless and girly.

And he was about 5 years older, too.

But the polar bears are dead.

But that doesn't explain why Ben would be found in what looks like a low rent funeral home in the middle of the hood. I'm rolling with the idea that it's Micheal. His wife's dead, who knows what happened to Walt and he did murder two of his comrades and flee the island without the rest of them. I wouldn't have showed up at his funeral either. It all adds up.

I suspect the only reason Jack was so affected is because he's clinging to any sort of connection to the island, positive or negative.

Ben has no family, no connections in the "real" world. His dad died on the island and his mom died after giving birth. If he ever made it back to the states, he has nothing here to come back to, so why not a funeral home in the 'hood?

I don't think Kate is with Sawyer in the flashforward. She seemed nervous to be gone for too long - not wanting "him" to know she was gone - would Sawyer make her feel that way? I'm thinking that maybe Ben is the one waiting for her at home.

I guess I simply liked him. He was a sweetie and did not want him to die.

Of course I also did not want Locke to die but then he went a little to native on everyone and now he comes back from the dead!

I am so keeping my fingers crossed for Charlie. If Locke can do it maybe Charlie will grow some gills or some thing and escape from the depths of the ocean.

It could happen! :D

JamesSD,

Seriously stop trying to make sense - Need I say it again.

Dude! It's a Sharpie.

Because John Doe types don't even make it to a funeral home. They end up in pauper's graves or as cadavers for med students to study. Plus, why would a newspaper even print a front page story about the death of such a nobody? It's more concievable that the press would find a human interest story about the death of an actual survivor of the plane crash; plus Jack seemed genuinely surprised that no one showed. If not Michael, then it's somebody from the group of survivors. Maybe even Juliet. But not Ben. I doubt Ben would even leave the island.
